  1. Thank ye. That's what I posited, but nooooo, no-one believes me coz I'm the one winning. >_>
  2. I'm just curious as to whether the "2 creds: Break 2 barrier subroutines" ability carries over to the next piece of ice in the case of their only being one subroutine broken. No? Yes? I get the impression that it doesn't, I mean, ever card-playing bit of me feels that it wouldn't. However, I've met some disagreement in my little circle of Netrunner players. Any clarification would help.
  3. My train of thought exactly. Just trying to settle something with an associate.
  4. Thanks! That does indeed clarify that point, though I've another query now. Once an agenda has been scored, can one still activate it's abilities? For instance, Private Security Force's 'Spend a click to deal 1 meat damage' deal.
  5. Once an agenda has been scored and moved to the score area, can you then install a new Agenda in the remote server the former inhabited?
  6. Even if it is simply a remodded Talisman, I doubt FFG would simply poop out the EXACT same game. Previous poster is right. The paucity of information prevents proper judgment.
  7. Ooooo, Imma psyched. The first ed of this was on my buy list, but with this coming up....
  8. I've yet to purchase the game, though I intend to at some point. I gotta admit, more expansions would definitely make it all the more appealing.
  9. Goddamn fun is what it is! I've been playing it like mad with my group of friends for the past 2 weeks. It's simple, fast-paced and contains a fair amount of strategy off-set only ever so slightly by some usual dice-rollin' randomness. Plus the whole theme of vile space-corporations duking it out over a moon is pretty well-realized with the beasts and terrain and whatnot. Overall I'd say it's a worthwhile purchase for those who dig strategy games.
  10. I was just curious as to how people feel about the alternate unit set. Personally I've been finding the alternate units (Clones, Sporlings, etc etc) a little OP when compared to the original units. I'm thinking that perhaps I'd best restrict my gaming group to picking one set of units prior to battle so were all on equal playing ground rather than having such a clash of disparate forces. So, anyone else had similar feelings?
  11. Just curious as to what people recommend when it comes to the expansions. Should one go hog-wild and use all those at ones disposal, or is it best to experiment?
  12. Sooooo, for those of you upon this forum, how long do your games tend to go for? Fantasy Flight averages the game out at 90 minutes, yet my friends and I rarely have a game of Talisman that doesn't go for almost more than 2 hours. There was one session we had where my brother actually won in under 2 hours, but that was one out of the ten or fifteen games we've so far played...Thus, I can conclude that like the game itself, the average length is fairly variable. BUT, imma still curious about how long it takes for most people here.

I mean, I can think of reasons why not, such as the Warlock not being the one who directly gives you the quest etc, etc. So, anyone have any clarification? Any light to shed? Hi Ignath, If you complete a warlock quest while playing with the sacred pool ending, you are still teleported to the warlock cave after you complete a quest. greetings, Velhart Thank you Velhart. I figured as much, but still wanted to hear if other people thought the same. Seeing as how I've yet to arouse public outcry at the concept, I'm assuming you're statement and my initial assumption are correct.

  15. My friends and I always play with the latter of those two rules in effect. I feel it makes more sense, considering that despite the level of water, these seem to be rather spacious sub-rooms. I.E., I feel as though things would balance out between the two rooms. I mean, if you rather make things more hardcore, you COULD always play with the former rule.
  16. I for one, find America's stance within the game somewhat hilarious. It's like, "Starship Troopers" level ridiculous. Though I'm Canadian, so I suppose it doesn't hit as close to home.
  17. Thank ye for the advice Warlock, it's most definitely aided my creative process when shuffling the cards about. Many kudos.
  18. And I apologize for the double-post! My computer seemed to lag awkwardly when I clicked to publish. My deepest regrets for clogging up the forum. >_<
  19. I recently received both "The Reaper" and "The Sacred Pool" expansions for X-mas. Needless to say I was uber-excited to implement them in my next Talisman session, and did so with gusto, taking a bunch of cards out of the base set and replacing them with the newer cards. However, I found that the game seemed a little off-kilter, even after thoroughly shuffling. Does anyone have any cool ideas for implementing these cards with the base set? I've been thinking I could merely remove one expansion and stick to one expansion at a time (Until I purchase more perhaps) but I'd prefer to utilize both at once if possible...just, things seem unbalanced when I do. Advice?

  22. Eighties SPEED metal. Blind Guardian's early stuff is definitely not thrash. They play Speed with a deep Helloween influence...I'd even wager that the way Hansi Kursch sings the lyric "Halloween" may be a reference to their contemporaries. But enough Metal snobbery! I just wanted to point out thematic similarities between das song and the game, not start a Heavy-Metal classification flame war!...Not that we've arrived there (Thankfully), but better to nip such things in the bud.
  23. I happened to be re-listening to some of my old Blind Guardian cd's, when I realized they've a song called "Wizard's Crown". Instantly I thought of Talisman and proceeded to listen and look up the lyrics. Now, apparently the song concerns Aleister Crowley and his various shenanigans, but you can't tell me that Talisman DOESN'T spring to mind when listening/reading it, can you? I mean, battling the Warlock? Claiming the Wizard's Crown? Dungeons?! Am I crazy or wouldn't this be an awesome theme? (Also, considering that power-metal is just so apt when it comes to Fantasy games).
  24. Well, I went and bought the game, so I answered my own question. Only played two games so far and though we came close to victory the first game, we only lasted 30 minutes or so the second one. Pretty frakkin hard, I'd say. But a blast!
