@Assussanni You're confusing control and ownership. A card goes into its owner's discard pile, not necessarily its controller's.
Weaknesses are owned by the player, but controlled by the scenario if they're enemies or treacheries and either resolving or in play.

My party got hammered on our first two scenarios (total of over 10 trauma and 1 lousy XP each). In the third scenario we finally managed to get a hold of ourselves. Now, we dread going back into the jungle.

Having narrowly missed out on getting a successful resolution on the first scenario, then getting absolutely slaughtered by the second in our blind play through, I absolutely sympathise. It’s not fun to feel like you’re getting punished for decisions you made with little to no information.
However, this game has never been based on the presumption of ‘winning’ every scenario. Apart from a handful of notable exceptions, losing a scenario or two doesn’t end the campaign, just makes subsequent scenarios more difficult. I think the issue with FA is that the bar does seem to be set higher. Now, personally, I think that’s a narrative choice they’ve made, to demonstrate that going into a jungle ill-prepared, following Alejandro (who I’m fairly certain does not have my best interests at heart) is a very dangerous thing to do. That should be the case, right? It certainly felt good to get back to weird old Arkham for the third scenario! It’s also making my group quite nervous about heading back into the jungle for the next scenario. It’s just a very different feel.
Ultimately, I think it’s healthy to have very different feels for the campaigns. Each one is likely to appeal to different types of players to varying degrees, and that’s a good thing, I think.

Without a ton of spoilers, the encounter deck is made up based on what prior choices and successes you have been able to make. In our game, there were not serpents or arrows from the trees or very many enemies with retaliate/hunter. Instead, we got an encounter deck CHOCK FULL of cultists who were constantly putting doom on various places that WE had to hunt down or simply run out of time.
Both are difficult situations, but might be better suited to different groups. We were often locked down by various card effects and that action limitation plus the doom appearing everywhere was both threatening and made it incredibly hard to fully investigate locations. We ended up with only 1 location fully investigated at the end. And this was on Easy.
I made the executive decision to bail as soon as we could because I wasn't sure we would be permitted to continue on failing.

Ohnomycocoa reacted to rmunn in Assault on Helms Deep 2b - Forced effect after stage 1a
I feel like this has already been answered somewhere recently, but I can't find the answer now. But there's an official ruling by Caleb on a different question that's relevant here. That ruling was quoted in this thread, and it reads:

"Forced effects do not trigger unless they are in play at the time that they would trigger. This is true for Response effects as well.
    Cheers,
    Caleb" (source)

So let's look at Helm's Deep. Stage 1B reads, in relevant part: "Forced: At the end of the round, advance to stage 2A". Stage 2B reads, in relevant part: "Forced: At the end of the round place 1 progress here for each enemy in the staging area (bypassing the active location)."

Now, you're at the end of the round. Stage 1B is in play, and it will trigger. At this time, the end of the round, stage 2B is NOT YET in play. It comes into play because of triggering Stage 1B's Forced effect (which triggers at the end of the round) -- but that means that it was not in play when it would trigger.

Therefore, this quest works precisely the way you would think. If you choose to go through stage 1, you get one free round of setup (and a free ally) at the cost of taking a burden card. But then you do indeed get that free round, and you will only trigger stage 2B's Forced effect at the end of round 2.

Erkenbrand and similar shadow cancellation just cancel the shadow effects, rather than the card, so I think the Witch's ability resolves.

Test of Will probably won't work because it's not been revealed from the encounter deck.

If they decided to come out with revised rules for Attack and Defense that broke those events out of the action framework and had their own referential sequence, it wouldn't surprise me.

By "ally" do you mean the other player? Just making sure, because the term "ally" is a word defined in the game.

Opportunities to declare attack are player based. If you use an archer to declare an attack against an enemy engaged with another player, then you can declare no more attacks against that enemy. But the other player can when it gets to his turn to declare attacks. Normally this never happens, because you generally want to wait until the other player declares the attack and then join in with your archer, rather than have to go through the enemy's defense twice.

By "opponent" do you mean the other player? By "ally" do you mean the other player? If that is what you mean then yes he can, but unless you have Bard set up with readying effects, you would probably want to save his attack for when the other player declares his attack against the enemy in order to pool your attack strength.

I think it's pretty simple: "You can immediately play or put into play the revealed card for no cost, if able".

Play applies to events and put into play applies to allies and attachments. It really depends on what's on the top of your deck. A nice little combo that makes this always successful is Hero Gandalf's passive ability.

Additionally, the fact that Vilya's power is an Action means that you can trigger it during whatever phase and for whatever sphere.

Lore Keeper nailed it. I love to go mono blue, but card draw was always rough. Basically Ancient Mathom and Gandalf were all that was available. Then we got Galadriel and things improved slightly, but always it was better to go blue/green instead for card draw.
Now? Warden of Healing is the main reason to go green.
Oh, and if you go blue with a Hama deck, it turns out Elvish Light is good there too, since the main weakness of Hama is running out of cards.
    It's pretty good.

I think a lot of people forget that the card text does not state "attach to Glorfindel". With the recent cycle, there are now several viable targets for this card.

Sword: After the attached hero has participated in an attack that destroyed an enemy with 5 or more hit points printed, exaust Sword of Numenor to add 1 resource to attached hero's resource pool

Elvish Light: Play only if it is your discard pile. Action: Return Elvish Light from your discard pile to your hand. Then, draw 1 card.

Wow so Elvish Light can turn Arwen's ability into an extra card every turn. Pretty cool.
