  1. Hi,

I just wanted to aks how you "feel" (or rather analyze) about allowing dodging in Terminator Armor.

I get that they are large and heavy and whatnot, but they already get a large penalty to Agility, and combined with the even more improved strength of it, it does not seem "fair" to deny them dodging outright. wouldn't the penalty to Agility alone suffice? Dodging is almost the only way to avoid hits in ranged combat. I understand they get a "forcefield", but between shields, rosarius and iron halo, so does almost everyone else who wants one, and these combined with artificer armor just seems plain better.

    Your thoughts?

  2. Hi,

I'm currently playing a Tactical Marine and I feel that the characteristic advances of the different specialities are not very well balanced.

Lets have a look at the different specialities and their cheap/expensive stats (note: 1 cheap and 1 expensive stat approx. "cancel" each other out):

    Apothecary: 3 cheap

Assault: 4 cheap, 3 expensive, leaving 1 cheap

    Devastator: 3 cheap, 3 expensive, leaving...nothing

Librarian: 4 cheap, 3 expensive, leaving 1 cheap

    Tactical: 2 cheap

    Techmarine: 3 cheap, 3 expensive, leaving...nothing

This shows clearly that the apothecary gets a huge bonus, while devastator and techmarine get left behind.

Concering the Tactical marine, I've found that they are mostly the only ones who are almost "forced" to take Fellowship, while other marines have almost no use for the stat.

I really think that the specialities should all be a bit more "moderate", with less cheap and expansive stats (iE. something like max. 3 cheap, max 2 expensive).

Any thoughts on this? I try to be open, and would gladly be convinced otherwise.

  3. But the relation is not like with the "General Space Marine Advances" which gives XP Costs for Dodge (for example). I can see the reason here, as there may be Marines that start without Dodge (or other skills for that matter). But in the case of the Watch Captain it is a "requirement", which means you can't access the Advancement Table before you fulfill all requirement... therefore it simply doesn't make sense, doesn't it?
