  1. The siege of Cair Andros is a good example for a quest, in which mono-tactic-decks rule. In my group we managed to win in a 2-player-game (with Hama/Brand/Beregond + Boromir/Legolas/Thalin) and in a 3-player-game (with Theoden/Hama/Legolas + Gimli/Thalin/Bard + Boromir/BRand/Beregond). We played with a cardpool up to "Against the Shadows" including the 2 Hobbitexpansions. Each player has tons of eagles in his deck and some support of the eagles (for Thalin!, he got chainmail and a dwarfenaxe, so he could quest very flexible).

Questing battle .. no Problem! .. questing siege .. no Problem! .. questing Willpower .. play Trained for War .. no Problem!

It was fantastic to see mono-tactic be able to win a quest!

  2. The 'when revealed'-effect triggers only, when the card was put into play by revealing it from the encounterdeck. Not simply by adding it like some effects do. Same with surge.

But before an effect can trigger the card must be in play, so the card goes to the staging area (enters play) and then its effects will trigger as described on the card. So in my opinion its the other way round as GrandSpleen wrote.

  3. Mmm.. Pretty simple for me ...

    1) play QS/Hands from your Hand

    2) resolve the text effect of QS/Hands

    2.1) do action from QS/Hands

2.1.1) exaust a character and declare it as an attacker against an enemy

    2.1.2) resolve attack

    3) discard QS/Hands

The whole exaust and attack thing is part of the "text effects are resolved"-part of the rulebook-quotation, after that you discard the event card.

Result .. you can't take QS/Hands back into your hand if hama was declared as an attacker with the action of this card, because the card is not in your discard pile at that moment.

  4.  Hi,

"Fresh Tracks" and "Graive Cairn" are not included in the portfolio of cards Redblock owns. :-/

After playing some Rohan-Stuff in the first circle,  i can give some hints.

I think you should start with Imrahil, Eowyn and Theodred as your three heroes. Imhrahil is superb in a rohan-deck, because he stands after a character leaves play! And rohan-characters often leaves play. You can add "Nor I am a stranger" if you want Imrahil to be a Rohan-Member. Insert one or two song of travel to make im spirit .. thats all :)

After that put all rohan-spirit/leadership-allies into your deck. .. perhaps some from other spheres .. "Horseback-Archer" (tactics) and "Gleowine" (Lore).. + some northern tracker an lorien guide .. thats it. If you have space .. some low-cost-leadership allies for "Rear Guard" will be helpful :)

  5. Another expansion, currently scheduled for release later in 2012, will introduce related scenarios that conclude Bilbo’s classic adventure!

These include Bilbo Baggins (The Hobbit: Over Hill and Under Hill, 1), an event with the Baggins sphere of influence, and the new treasure cards. These cards are only intended for use in The Hobbit: Over Hill and Under Hill and a second Saga Expansion, slated to arrive in late 2012, that will relate the second and final half of Bilbo’s adventures.

This is, what two of the three saga announcements say.. so we will get another Sags Expansion Box of Bilbo later in 2012. gui%C3%B1o.gif

  6. short question:

How many damage does an enemy (DEF 4) get,

if Aragorn (3)  and Dwalin (2), who is wearing one dwarrowdelf axe (+1 ATK / 1 damage at the end), attack this enemy and the player plays heavy stroke at the end of the combat?

I think it will be 6, beacuse Aragorn reduces the defense to 1 and Dwalin does 3-1 = 2  damage, after that i have the choice, whichte response will trigger first. 1. dwarrowdelf axe then heavy stroke .. :) -> Dwalin does (2+1)x2 damage.

    Is this right?

  7. With "a burning brand" you can only ignore the shadoweffect if the hero where "a burning brand" is attached is declared as the defender.

With "dark knowledge" you will be able to have a look at the shadowcard before declaring a defender .. this is it!

  8.  Hi everybody!

i often play with my brother (~600 km distance) that way. But we used a program called galaxee4free, so we are able to make a video conference with up to four persons. My brother can use his large table to place his play area + staging area. So he has the control about the encounter deck.

This works very well and makes a lot of fun.

I even tested LackeyCCG .. and i'm trying to modify the lotr-lcg plugin, so you can play other scenarios and use the new cards. Also adding german cards :)

Lackey is perfect, if you want to play with persons without having the game at home.
