  1. the card has not physically left play, that's right, but with sneak attack you bring an ally into play, with sword thain you change the card type from ally to hero, after that the ally is no longer in play... so where is the ally when he does not leave play?

Changing the cardtype from ally to hero feels a little like ally X leaves play and hero X joins play without doing it physically.

after some thoughts about this, i think using the resonse of Valiant Sacrifice could be legal but using Horn of Gondor will not, because the character itself is still in play.

  2. Hi folks,

perhaps you can help me with some rulings about Schwert-Than (Sword-thain)

in another thread Caleb was quoted that an ally which is put into play by Sneak attack and then switched to be a hero by Sword-thain must not get back into your hand because the ally played by Sneak attack is no longer in play.

As a result of this quote .. the ally leaves play somehow, right?

so, what about using responses which triggers if a character or ally leaves play?

can i use such responses if Sword-Thain is used?

    e.g.

  3. Awesome ideas! Dunedain hunter becomes free card draw with Amarthiul and Lord of Morthond.

    It's interesting...

you need the truchsess first, then lord of morthond -> Dunedain hunter let you draw a card.

to play sprit and lore cards you need Celebrian's Stone and Ring of Barahir attached to Aragorn .. now you can play Master of the forge to dig for your snares. A long way... Galadriel should help with this.

For thread reduction aka Lore Aragorn i would take sneakattack with Gandalf.

Perhaps you can delete some Master of force from the decklist  because of the setup to play them.

  4. I think Arwen with Song of Wisdom fits perfectly into this deck. I've tried it with Eowyn + Song of Wisdom (because my friend uses Galadriel in his silvan deck) and it was ok .. exhaust Eowyn + a not-discarded card by Silver Harp makes 5 WIL or 6 if my friend discards one. So, Willpower will be better. But instead you loose the opportunity to reduce your thread by Galadriel.

Playing this deck without spirit will cause you to discard cards by Hama, which is not wanted. But playing with leadership will bring you more flexibilities like Sneak Mablung, Steward and Tighten your belts. Perhaps using a dwarf like Gloin or Balin with Narvi's Belt could be good.

  5.

It might get quite difficult to remember how many attacks you need to resolve and which ones you've already resolved.

This was my intention by playing only one more attack. In worst case you have a stack of attacks to resolve but the game instructs you to discard all shadow cards before the next attack get resolved.. so how remember?

i thought the game has no memory ..

  6. Not sure, if my question fits into this topic ...

played The Antlered Crown and an enemy got Raven Village as a shadowcard, which adds two more shadowcards from the ravendeck to the enemy. Both new shadowcards are dunland berserkers which reads:

Shadow: Attacking enemy makes an additional attack after this one.

Question: How many attacks make the enemy after his first? We ruled one, because both cards say "makes an additional attack after this one" .. "makes an additional attack."

  7. If i understand the VoI-rulesheet correctly you do not have to refresh the time counters after the last counter is removed .. except the effect instructs you to do so?

Time X is a new keyword that represents the urgency of the heroes’ quest. When a card with the Time X keyword is revealed, the players put X resource tokens on that card. These tokens are called “time counters.” At the end of each refresh phase, remove 1 time counter from each card with the Time X keyword, if able. When the last time counter is removed, there will be a triggered effect that resolves on that card. Some encounter cards will also remove time counters, making it more difficult for the players to predict when they will run out of time

  8. :) .. another question about Silver Harp and Emery.

If i have to discard her in reference to her Action ( i have discarded some non-spirit-cards) .. can i get her back into my hand by using the silver harp?

I think not .. because she left my hand, lies on the table and gets discarded... right?

  9. I have adjusted the deck list as I play and reduced Anborn and Ithilien Pit to 2 copies. Both are useless early. I have increased Spear of the Mark to 3 copies. Also, Wandering Ent should obviously be Quickbeam. Anyway, Ents are problematic with Galadriel because they have anti-synergy with her ability. I have cut Wellinghall and worked in 3 copies of core Gandalf because he is just so good.

Nice.. can you edit your deck above?
