  1.

The question is, does "any hull zone" mean you can take shields from "any hull zone" to enhance your attacks, or simply that "any hull zone" is capable of borrowing its own shields to enhance your own attacks?

I think it is the former, but I can see an argument being made for the latter.

Pretty sure the former is correct.

Otherwise they'd have written it as "...you may spend up to two shields from the attacking hull zone..."

That seems substantially different, as it would constrain you to using one zone and having that zone be the attacking zone.

Right now I see two interpretations that seem equally valid based on implicit content:

    1) ...you may spend up to 2 shields from any combination of your hull zones...

    and

    2) ...you may spend up to 2 shields from any one of your hull zones...

  2. Wave 4 will be an interesting test of these calculations relative to standard theory.

I think most standard theory indicates that the Bandit Squadron Z-95 is clearly inferior to the Academy Pilot, for instance-- equivalent firepower with an inferior dial and roughly comparable resilience, in a faction that has less support for the playstyle.

Similarly, people are predicting that the Defender will be very interesting at least, potentially a game-changer, and certainly worth testing, where this analysis indicates that it is totally uncompetitive.

I suspect the standard theory is better than the equations here-- but we'll see.

  3. The old Primitive weapon system essentially meant that any non-Mono weapon was useless against anyone in even basic armor. If you look at a Cadian Guardsman-- the textbook definition of what "guard flak" is-- do they look like they would be completely invulnerable to being attacked by a knife? Not even close. Removing that is IMO one of the best changes new Dark Heresy has to offer, and I would hate to see it go back in.
