  1. 6) part of the strategy, if given the option to choose you get exactly that, a choice of which point to reinforce and follow the rules governing monster placement. .

    7) Rest is one action, but it could be the first action that you do. You just don't recover the stamina till the end of your turn.

8)If a hero stands up on his own he gets no other actions.

9)If a hero is revived by another hero they have both actions on their turn.

10)if a hero revives another hero it takes one action. They would have 1 left if it was the first action they did on their turn.

  2. Having reread my initial comments (more accurately rereading dockside brothel and the need for an effect) i also agree that dockside cant trigger, my mistake.

I was reading it in line with inn of the kneeling man which only stipulates a character being knelt (with str2 or lower and in summer/winter).

I'll go and quietly sit in a dark corner. :)

  3. ****, i was right in the first stupidly long post i typed up.

looked at the active player framework and thought it had to be a passive check and then talked myself into treating it as a constant effect as the active player doesn't change until the next framework event that moves it along.

And i have just told myself how the process works and where the passive check is >.>

  4. The only thing im thinking that might be dubious is if Steelshanks reserves are a constant or passive effect. If its passive they should only check when the framework determines a new active player, if its constant it would work as you described (roose pulls them back and then they immediately go back to the active player).

Passives and constants always muck me up a bit.

Im inclined to say you have the right of this as the only stipulation is active player which would appear to be a constantly checked variable.

  5. Replacement effects are a little weird at first but the thing to remember is that while they may function as saves, they are not saves.

Retreat is a good example for this, the killed character goes to hand rather then the dead pile but for all game purposes that character WAS killed, so anything that triggers off killing a character would be able to trigger.

So a stark player with Harenhall (sp) and the house of black and white who killed a specific character with no quarter who had retreat played on them to bring them back to hand can still trigger both responses.

Like wise with darkstar or ser jorah, if they are discarded, they are for all game purposes, discarded. Their own text just says to do something different when this happens, so if you have corpse lake in play for your greyjoy deck they are discarded, so corpse lake can be triggered, They just end up in play rather then the discard pile.

  6. Ratatoskr explains it a bit better then me but yes, kyle is discarded as a cost and goes moribund but don't forget moribund cards don't leave play physically till step 6 in the action window. As he is still in play his response is still available at the response window (and is met as he is being discarded). The response step occurs after the event is resolved (which is step 3).

EDIT: From hell's heart I stab at thee, Underworld40k!

Also, i ninja'd someone! And Ratatoskr to boot! The day is looking good!

  7. You cant cancel the cost of the effect without canceling the whole effect, in most cases the card has (cannot be saved) printed on it in instances such as this.

So unfortunately you cant use the combo of Eurons favor and Gormond Goodbrother.

If you could your 2nd assumption on staying knelt would be correct.

    Now for your stalwart question.

Stalwart is a keyword and doesn't actually stop the character being discarded, it just changes the moribund destination to 'top of deck' instead of 'discard pile' so you can totally pay the cost of the event with a stalwart character and send him to the top of the deck.

Now in regard to your timing issue, you would play the event and search for the character and shuffle your deck then at the end of the action window the cost character would be discarded (in this example stalwart would kick in and they would go top of deck.

In the kyle example i believe you would play the event, nominate ser Kyle, and revolve the event, so search and shuffle, (assuming it is not canceled)  then after any passives you would trigger Kyle's response and draw a card and finally Kyle would go to top of deck thanks to his stalwart

    * I totally reserve the right to be corrected by ktom/anyone with more knowledge then me :D

  8. No reason that as they re-tweak some monster stats (as the preview shows they have done so for shiver) for the hero and monster collections they cant add condition effects or adjust the dice rolled. As these are expansion packs in there own right they can follow established precedent and add green dice and conditions.

No idea if they will but no reason to rule it out completely yet.

  9. My timing with the crown regent is a little iffy but i believe it works like this.

Active player 1 goes to declare challenge against player 2 who has CR.

Go to first frame work action, declare challenge type and opponent. Go next frame work action, declare attackers, in this case Margaery Tyrell.

Then we have the save/cancel window for the framework event and Im pretty sure at this point, and that point only, can the CR title be used to force the active player to choose a new target.

Sigh * ninj'd by ktom and Rataoskr

  10. Its the base game issue. Lets say that you have only the base game and your lieutenants. What is burn? What is weaken?

These conditions don't exist for players without those expansions. Regardless of the likelihood that most players who buy these agents already have the expansions FFG are keeping the playing field open for all descent customers.

Now the way to solve this would be to include the tokens and condition cards in the lieutenant pack (and i cant think of a reason that they didn't outside of game balance as material cost wise cardboard should be dirt cheap for them).

  11. Well, as happy as i am im raging a little right now. Having tracked down the first edition stuff (having taken a lot of time and money) on the basis that the conversion kit stuff was not going to be coming back anytime soon if ever........

Need to get these figures as the sculpt quality is so much higher.

Wonder if they may update some of the characters from the conversion kit to address a few issues.

    EDIT:

Just a quick bit of thinking means that if these sell well (and they almost certainly will) i would hazard between 8-12 packs of these based on the number of heroes and monsters available in the conversion kit.

God **** my completionist needs. My poor wallet.

On the other hands 16-24 new quests sounds excellent!

  12. Unfortunately the dragon egg will fall off the character as soon as you take control of it. The condition of attach to a card controlled by an opponent will no longer be met at which point the attachment now has no valid target and becomes moribund.

    The FAQ addresses this directly

    (3.22) Attachment Restrictions
Any attachment that has a restriction (such
as "Lord or Lady only" or "attach to an
    opponent's character") is immediately
discarded from play at any time that restriction
is not met, regardless of immunity. Such
restrictions are constant effects, and the
    attachment should be immediately discarded
any time a restriction is not met including
    during setup.
