Cool build! Neat to see a non-rush warrior deck.
 
I don't run The Emperor's Statue because it conflicts with Veteran Sellswords. They are key in getting the biggest attack for 3 - 4 resources per turn.
 
Don't get me wrong, I am as in love with Rodrick as much as the next guy, especially in conjunction with Osterknacht Elite. Choosing him over Derricksburg as your restricted card in a rush deck is giving up quite a bit of speed.

I've tried Rodrik, but Derricksburg Forge allows for faster starts.
 
I used to run Veteran Greatsword until recently. He was replaced in update after Cataclysm. He's great for one big hit, but damage cancellation kills him. Griffon Standard's ability is a constant.

I'm not sure if many of you remember, but there was this awesome super-hero card game around 2006 called VS system. Not only was the theme awesome, but the game play was phenomenal as well! It would be the perfect LCG.

I'm not sure if it's come up before, but VS System was a REALLY good game. Some might say the best game of all time.

The goal of the deck is to go fast. My goal was to create a deck that would very reliably burn a zone on turn two. The deck has multiple ways to do this. The deck can be seen here One of the strengths to this deck is that the skaven draw 2 cards by default but only have two starting resources. My hope was to always start with Warpstone Excavation (to overcome my resource deficiency) or Chittering Horde (giving me up to five extra cards on turn 1). If i did not get one of those two cards in my starting hand, I would usually mulligan. I had decent luck this day. I ended up going second quite a bit and on several occasions I started with one of those two cards and then drew the other on my starting two card draw. My favorite combo which I think I pulled off twice was attacking with Clanrat Claw Leader. This card allows another Skaven to be put into play for free (as long as it has cost 2 or less), but that card goes away at the end of the turn. I used that card to bring the Night Runner into play, and then I would play one or (ideally) two Warpstone experiments on the Nightrunner. This allowed me to attack for a good deal of damage. Then after damage was assigned but before it was applied, I would use the nightrunner action and corrupt to deal indirect damage.

Here is my favorite dwarf deck. The list looks weird, but it is all about getting things into play for free. It is very reactive and best against super aggro decks.

Here is how it plays:
 
Opening had you want to see Nimble Spearman and New Trade Route or Ancestral Tomb for first turn (Hammersmith only makes those draws better) 
 
When it comes to economy the build favors the quest greatly. Only 4 resources are need per turn, but it really needs to to draw around 4 cards per turn.
 
The goal is to get 4+ developments in the quest as quickly as possible. Ideally you want to see King Kazador or Son of Grungi as one of those developments. Having 4 developments makes Pilgrimage (a highly underrated card in my opinion) free.
 
Early game revolves around getting free Blood Vengeances and Vengeful Slayers into play for free. The whole time you are waiting to draw the combo:
 
Tunnel Fighter + Stand Your Ground = 1 cost King Kazador (or Son of Grungi)
 
This is an old trick, but a good one. You bring Tunnel Fighter into play for free by blowing up 3 developments making sure one of them is King Kazador. Then Stand Your Ground him back into play. This nets 2 big butt units for 1 resource. In a pinch the combo can be pulled off with Demolition! (it blows up developments too) to get a Kazador for 3 resources.
 
It may seem like a 1 trick pony from this description, but it can control the board with scalpel precision with unit bouncing and support destruction. All the free developments are toolbox options with Long Winter so you rarely feel like you are out of options.
 
I played this deck at North American Nationals and I really think it could have done well, but I got paired against a straight End Times deck first round (I've since made a similar build and will post it soon). I went 1:2 against it, but the 2 rounds it won it was by a landslide. It is nasty, it won on turn 2 the 3rd game.
 
This is my favorite deck to play and probably my best. Slayers are fun, but there is nothing better than seeing an opponent scared to attack you because of the repercussions!

Sorry RSVPing was such a pain. I decided to use facebook instead of Meetup because I thought it would be easier for out of town people, but it looks like it is still a little difficult.
 
For others, you will need to request to join the group before you can RSVP. The group has this setting to weed out solicitors.

Alright, it's official - We are coming!!!! My brother is flying in from Seattle and the two of us are road-tripping it from Kansas City to Louisville. As long as the weather doesn't screw up our plans we will see you guys in a few weeks!

Whatever the theme I think it would be cool if they incorporated storyline stuff similar to L5R or some other thing beyond just the game content. Just to give it a different feel than the other LCGs.
