Hantheman got a reaction from Dagonet in Guidance Chips - Losing Faith in FFG
No most of the uniques are just not being used. Here's a list (Up to Wave 7 & TFA only - cards confirmed to be released in Wave 8 ships are also not included; faction and ship specific upgrades are not included in this list):
TIE Advanced: •Squad Leader Millennium Falcon: Draw Their Fire TIE Interceptor: Daredevil HWK-290: Saboteur, Blaster Turret Lambda-class Shuttle: Navigator, Flight Instructor, Anti Pursuit Laser, Sensor Jammer TIE Bomber: Adrenaline Rush Imperial Aces: Opportunist Z-95 Headhunter: Wingman, Decoy TIE Phantom: Tactician, Stygium Particle Accelerator YT-2400 Freighter: Countermeasures, •Experimental Interface VT-49 Decimator: Intimidation, Tactical Jammers Most Wanted: Autoblaster Turret StarViper: Calculation, Autothrusters M3-A Scyk: Flechette Cannon Hound's Tooth: Ion Projector Kihraxz Fighter: Lightning Reflexes K-Wing: Bombardier, Twin Laser Turret, Advanced SLAM X-Wing The Force Awakens Core Set: Wired T-70 X-Wing: Cool Hand TIE/fo Fighter: Juke, Comm Relay Every faction has at least 3 or 4 additional cards card that work great with the faction but just are not found on any ships of that faction. Note: Some upgrades like Advanced SLAM and Stygium Particle Accelerator currently have little use outside the ship they come with - but they are neither faction or ship specific so may become useful later (eg with illict upgrade cloaking device).
Hantheman reacted to Warpman in Dropping "discard" from Ordinance. Would that make it worth it?
Torpedoes should have measely 3 dice attacks, but utilize the black dice armada-style, with hit-crit results.
Easily avoided for the most part, DEVASTATING when they hit.
Missiles should use blue ones, armada-style. Exceptionally precise, indeed, but not a backbreaker like the torpedoes.
and no need for three wave long fixing it with tons of cards
Hantheman reacted to GML in GML's repaint thread
The first model I repainted was a TIE fighter, and that can be found here.
I did the rest of my models up over the past couple of days. Now, I didn't put my top effort into them because the tournament scene differs from Warhammer in that it doesn't appear to focus on painting results (that I can see). I just have something different from everybody else. And here are the results:
TIE Advanced: TIE Interceptors: TIE Fighters:

Looks like a mistake in the Wiki - should be 16 total, 8 per pod (when you look at the alrternative payloads this makes more sense. for some reason the wiki is saying it has five pods as well.
Stats also available at: http://www.galacticempiredatabank.com/AssaultGunboat.html
Hantheman got a reaction from WWHSD in How to be PS 5 or 6
This is one of the flaws of the game that has been there since it's inception. High PS in itself is already an ability - therefore the most game changing abilites should have been on low PS pilots, while situational abilites should have been on high PS pilots.
Hantheman got a reaction from heychadwick in Epic Storage? (non-foam)
If you're not willing to buy a specialized foam solution, maybe you can try to ghetto it? Look at crafting your own solution with styrofoam/upholstery foam/foam core? You could even try paper maiche since you have the plastic stuff the ship comes in.
Specialized retail soultions are for ppl with money and don't have time/are unwilling to spend time; DIY solutions are for ppl with time and are unwilling to spend much money/prefer to build their own stuff.
Hantheman reacted to Slugrage in Interview about new FFG policy. Yes, they're jacking up online prices.
Very little, other than country of origin. A gyro, as I know them, are pretty much Greek. Doner's are more Turkish. Shawarma are more Arabic/Middle Eastern.
But they're all delicious. There's a place in town here run by a woman from Afghanistan, and the food is awesome. And very good value. Almost under-priced in my opinion.
NOT LIKE WHAT THAT EVIL EMPIRE OF FFG/ASMODEE/SATAN IS DOING RIGHT NOW THOUGH!
There, is that more on topic?
Or does it need more Tzatziki sauce?
Hantheman got a reaction from Grayfax in How much more would you pay per expansion for additional copies of upgrade cards?
Actually FFG does seem to have a pricing is based on: The unit package size, Number of pilot+upgrade cards, Number of fibreboard sprues.
Most SRP $14.95 blisters have the following pack list: 4 pilot cards, 5 upgrade cards, 2 fibreboard sprues for dialis, bases, tokens, etc (there maybe extra cards for rules); The notable exceptions are the TIE Fighter, TIE/fo and TIE Interceptor which have: 6 pilot cards, 2 upgrade cards, 2 fibreboard sprues for dialis, bases, tokens, etc (extra rule card in the TIE Interceptor).
All SRP $19.95 blisters have the following pack list: 4 pilot cards, 9 upgrade cards, 2-3 fibreboard sprues for dialis, bases, tokens, etc (there maybe extra cards for rules)
Boxed sets have slight more variation usually of a 2-3 upgrade cards but are generally the same.
Ultimatly, the shipping size a ship requires seems to be the biggest factor when determining pricing, and FFG is happy to throw in more cards in larger packages.
Hantheman got a reaction from Deepspace5 in Dengar Thoughts
Because I found it interesting I compiled a list of expansions that came with more than 1 stress token per ship:
X-Wing Expansion Pack [3 - Expert Handling can cause stress] Millennium Falcon Expansion Pack [2 - Elusiveness can cause stress] Slave 1 Expansion Pack [2 - Kath Scarlet can cause stress] A-Wing Expansion Pack [2 - Push the Limit can cause stress] HWK-290 Expansion Pack [2 - Jan Ors can cause stress] Lambda-class Shuttle Expansion Pack [3 - Captain Yor, Rebel Captive can cause stress] TIE Bomber Expansion Pack Rebel Transport Expansion Pack [3 - R3-A2, R4-D6, Flechette Torpedoes can cause stress] E-Wing Expansion Pack [2 - Flechette Torpedoes can cause stress] Most Wanted Expansion Pack [4 - Drea Renthal, Dace Bonearm can cause stress] StarViper Expansion Pack 2 [4 - Inertial Dampeners can cause stress] M3-A Scyk Interceptor Expansion Pack [2 - Flechette Cannon can cause stress] TIE/fo Fighter Expansion Pack [2 - "Zeta Leader" can cause stress] Imperial Assault Carrier Expansion Pack [4 - Expert Handling can cause stress]] Mist Hunter Expansion Pack 3 Punishing One Expansion Pack 5 Interestingly, Mist Hunter also comes with a fairly large number of stress tokens. Most other ships with multiple stress tokens in the package either 1) can cause stress somehow on an opponent's ship or 2) can receive a stress token for a beneficial effect. Maybe scum gets a way to apply stress on other ships? Nothing seems shared between the 2 ships tho - have to wait for previews to be more sure...
Hantheman got a reaction from Arma Quattro in Dropping "discard" from Ordinance. Would that make it worth it?
I'd disagree that it's been "fixed" but it has been substantially improved.
Missiles, torps and bombs that don't run out is just about as broken as one shot ones. The currrent batch of missiles, torps and bombs were designed to be one shot - making them unlimited would be firstly be too OP, secondly unrealistic even for a fantasy sci-fi like Star Wars.
Hantheman got a reaction from VanorDM in Guidance Chips - Losing Faith in FFG
I presonally prefer Most Recent Printing rules for cards. But I also know that once you have adopted a system like FFG's no updated cards rules (which was made so older players would always have up to date cards) the worst thing you can do it is to change it. It pisses your early adopters off and it doesn't necessarily attract new players.
Hantheman got a reaction from Punning Pundit in Hopefully, Syck fix will come with next Scum Huge Ship Release?
The scyk isn't a ship the Black Sun uses - the Black Sun and Car'das did fight a battle at Tansarai(sp?) Point tho - So that could be the name for it.
The Scyk is currently the 2nd least popular ship in tournaments that hasn't had a fix announced (The TIE Punisher may benefit from some of the ordnance fixes coming out soon tho). It should be getting a fix of some sort after wave 8 hits.
The StarViper is a fairly popular knife-fighter ship in tournaments. However in fluff it was never a knife-fighter - it was a rival of the TIE Interceptor and A-Wing. Consensus for the StarViper is that if you can equip the title, its an ok ship. So you'll end up playing only 1 and the 2 non uniques are screwed. FFG created the M-2 StarViper for the EotE, maybe we will see that happening as well soon.
FFG usually does a good job when it converts a ship to the game (both the E-Wing and TIE Defender were excellent ships but with heavy cost problems for example) - but in the case of these 2 (and the HWK-290 which is a fast agile transport) they when for a mechanic they wanted to introduce and it hasn't worked out.
The most underperforming ship outside the Scyk is actually the Firespray - Imps have been compalining about it as well - this ship already has 2 titles so any fix is not going to be a simple title slap on fix.

Hantheman got a reaction from eagletsi111 in Hopefully, Syck fix will come with next Scum Huge Ship Release?
Well I'll be happy with either a huge add on or a vet style pack.
There's 2 more pilot trainers that can be used for Unique pilots (known scyk pilots are rare even in legends), ideally since the M3-A pilots are at PS 2 and PS 5 with EPT now, we can get a cheaper PS1 pilot at 13 pts as well.
Hantheman got a reaction from Warpman in And now Scyk, ladies and gentlepilots!
Actually the ship in its source game could fit a booster - at a cost of other things of course (Light version).
As I mentioned this before - this ship in fluff is started to have the hull strength of a TIE with shields, 3+1 does sound logical.
Hantheman got a reaction from Punning Pundit in And now Scyk, ladies and gentlepilots!
What I mean gamewise and fluffwise:
Fluffwise: how a ship is depicted in source material.
Gamewise: how a ship is depicted in the x-wing game ignoring background source material.
The dial is a far more important component of a ship that affects the points than you think. Also mods like targeting computer and engine upgrade etc are generally more expensive than if the ship had the action or stat natively.
