haha this is a good thread. I like.
I'd have to add Eagle 5.. it's a classic!
lest see... probably the shuttles dial with 5 hull / 5 shields. 1 att 2 agil

What would you add?
I'd add a TARDIS
Small base obviously, probably the smallest model in the game.
It'd be a support ship with no weapons, 3 agility, and 8 hull. It also deploys on turn 3, but can deploy anywhere I want. It could take up to three crew, systems, and an astromech.
For Pilot abilities, once per turn it could stop a single ship within range 1-2 from attacking.

atlantis reacted to pgarfunkle in Expansions
OK so this is a bit premature considering the game has barely been announced but as the image below shows core sets suggest expansions.
What expansions do you think/hope this game will see (to get in early I assume everyone wants a Death Star)?
I'm making the assumption that the expansions will include a capital ship and support ships of some sort.
First expansion I would like to see for the Rebels is a Mon Cal cruiser with squadrons of B-Wings.
For Imperials I'm trying to think of something other than Star Destroyers

atlantis reacted to Robin Graves in Star Wars vs. Star Trek
Things to consider:
Trek fluff states that the enterprise' shields are impervious to lasers. A star destroyer has turbo lasers. This, asuming turbo in this case means rapid-fire, would mean that a Star destroyer has no hope of damaging starfleet ships.
Trek has (almost) no carriers or fighter squadrons, so i'd like to see how that would play out in the game. Can't we make it a threeway with battlestar galactica?
Trek has teleporters: teleport photon torpedo on enemy bridge, anyone? (srsly, why don't they do that on the show?)

Ok serious answer: there is no point in trying with x-wing. Now armada vs trek might be work since both deal with capital class ships rather than xwings small scale fighters (Tantiv IV excluded) Then there is balance issues. It would take a lot of work to match up the stats of the ships.
Also i wounder how well the scale would match.
And wizkids should do a better job on their models! X-wing is awesome, but in trek what you get for the same price is basically a gashapon toy!

atlantis got a reaction from stegocent in Star Wars vs. Star Trek
I do love Star Trek more than Star Wars, but I have to admit that the components of X-wing are better than Attack Wing, Wizkids can do better miniatures, for example the Enterprise that comes with Expeditions is awesome, but for Attack Wing (and others like Fleet Captains and Tactics) they did a bad job.
X-wing:
Pro: Good Quality.
Attack wing:
Cons: Bad Quality.

atlantis reacted to SvenG in The others games of Battlestar Galactica
Its a space combat game based on the FullThrust rules.
The ship models are from Moebius and Revells 1:4105 range of plastic kit models. The fighters are 3D printed.

atlantis got a reaction from Cubanboy in Ground Combat or Capital Ships?
I think that they will do some more capital ships, from the expanded universe:
Take care!

atlantis reacted to XUR in expanded role for colonial ships ?
> Cifer, it is true that the Olympic Carrier was blown to smithereens very easily (how could we forget "33" , one of the most memorable episodes of the whole show ?) , but there is a big size difference between this ship and Cloud 9, which is litteraly a space-city in itself.
>ronsen, you have a point with your puncturing theory (which would make hands down C9 the most vulnerable ship of the entire fleet), but BattlestarWiki tells us "the ship was extensively damaged during the (original) Cylon attack" ... Maybe we're missing something. Why indeed bother building such a hulking thing, if a meteoric impact would be enough to obliterate it ?
We ran many games since my last posts, and I must say this is getting better and better !! The thing is, Exodus brought its share of neat stuff, but BSGTBG has become complex enough for new players, and I didn't dare to further confuse them by adding home-made rules. So far, we only used these colonial ships for aesthetic concerns. Works a treat
