No worries! I see you are in the UK which would make the shipping costs a beast!

Sorry for the double post.

I'd like to sell my collection of Lord of the Rings cards. I have the original Core set plus every deluxe expansion (and all six of each of the cycles that go with it except for the most recent Grey Havens cycle) as well as all the Saga expansions up to date. The only thing I don't have is the Nightmare sets or the stand-alone sets from Gen Con. All the cards were sleeved when used and so are in near-mint to mint condition. This would be a great way to get just about everything you need in one huge lot!
If interested, contact me at rborkowitz@gmail.com with an offer and any questions you might have. Thanks!

Does anybody know why there are shadow effects on some of the cards in the Into Fangorn quest? Since all the enemies have Hinder and the rules say an enemy with Hinder is not dealt a shadow card, I can't think of any reason why shadow effect text should be included on any of the cards. Am I missing somethere here?

When you Search X from the out-of-play deck, do the discarded cards go back into the normal discard deck or do you make a new out-of-play discard deck? It makes a difference since I'd like to possibly recycle the cards with Will of the West.

When Sam is tapped because he quested and then engages a enemy who has a higher threat than him, he readies and gains +1 on his stats. Now if a second enemy should also engage him, do his stats go to +2 even though he doesn't ready (because he always was ready) or does it stay at +1 no matter how many times a qualifying enemy engages him?

Just saw the answer to my last question in the new rules. Thanks again for pointing that out to me!

See the section "New Staging Rules" in the rulebook for The Black Riders. It particular it states
".. players reveal encounter cards individually in player order during the staging step of the Quest phase."
So, every player needs to be able to hide and/or handle peril as necessary.
Thanks!
So what happens if in a 2-player game the second person draws a card with surge? Does that mean the first player draws that card and is responsible for it (and then if that particular card has yet another surge, is it drawn by the second player?)
-
Both the new "Peril" and "Hide" keywords incicate that when a player reveals the card with those keywords on them, the player who revealed the card must do such and such. So when playing multiplayer (2 player), can Player 1 reveal both cards from the encounter deck or must it be that the first player reveals the first encounter deck card and Player 2 must reveal the second encournter deck card? (And if so, who is responsible for the third card that is revelaed after a "surge" effect?) I would rather have the player with the Hobbit deck always reveal the cards since he can handle the hide tests better than the other player's deck, but I can't find any ruling that demands how this ought to be handled.
Any help?

The easy solution is to make color copies of the cards you want from the Core set and insert them in front of other cards in card sleeves (which keeps the cards from getting beat up and worn). I've been doing this since the Core set came out and it works just fine. I barely can tell the real cards from the copied cards.

When you cancel a "When Revelaed" effect on a Treachery card, (such as with "A Test of Will"), does it also cancel any Surge or Doomed text as well, or do they get played out first?
I can't seem to find a ruling on this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I share your sense of frustration. Calling this a 4 difficulty is way too low by comparison to quests from the previous two cycles. I find I need to have "A Test of Will" in hand lest the treachery card that has surge, damage every questing character then shuffle it back in, (sorry don't have it in front of me for the exact name), starts making mince-meat of me (coming back over and over again). Sometimes my opening hand determines the game: either I get the right cards turn one or it's a quick death. Nothing easy about this quest whatsoever!
-
Any idea when you'll add the Heirs of Numenor to the listing?
-
I find the second quest really difficult. I've played it a half a dozen times and have never made it past the first stage. I play solo with two decks and it every card from the encounter deck I reveal just compounds the problems. It seems that if I don't get a couple of "Test of Will" cards to play ASAP (and some cheap allies), I'm dead before you know it. In fact, I'd consider it hard than the first question, which is a difficult 5 (while the second is only a 4!). Does any one else feel this way? Any secrets strategies I'm missing?

Juicebox,
It doesn't look like you updated my scores to reflect my improved score on October 3. If you could take that into account next time you update, I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!
