OK I've got a few things to say concerning the cheating accusation.
1.) Those of you who are accusing Rob of cheating don't know what they are talking about. I've gamed against him for over 30 years now and he has never done anything to ever warrant me not being able to trust him completely. If he was cheating would he have posted everything with the honesty that he did?
2.) I believe in the old adage of "Tell me the rules of the game and I'll tell you how to play the game". This "colusion" is part of the game. There is no rule against it one way or another. I have used it and turned it down in my last 2 years at Gencon. It might have cost me a spot in the top but I don't know and it doesn't matter, because...
3.) It's up to me to build a deck that wins. If I lose a game or don't make it to the final round it's because ultimately my deck was not good enough. Nobody's fault but my own. Sitting on the sidelines crying they cheated is really a load of bull. Build a better deck and take control of your own fate. If you can't then make more friends. Either way it's your responsibility to build a winning deck. If you don't and then somebody gets help from a friend that isn't going to make it then it still comes back to you to take control and responsibility for your play.
Thanks,
Tony

I got my wife to sit and watch it with me. She started off asking me about a million questions to get on my nerves and before she knew it she was looked at me and said, "I'll watch it with you next week." That's pretty good as she hates all things from a fantasy setting.

Thanks for the link. I checked it out and the actor looks perfect for the mountain!

I have to agree the Missouri Meta is my favorite next to my own. Not to put down anybody's meta but these guys are great. Very friendly, very tough to play against and at the end of the day you could have a couple of beers with them and then the next day start trying to destroy each other over a game of thrones, again. They also have some very funny banter and crack jokes on each other during Melee games that is really hilarious.

I looked up Oliver Platt and he would have been better than the current King Robert but I think you almost need a massive ex football player/ wrestler type that is a bit long in the tooth now to get the bad ass warrior turned fat drunk. I tried to google some but just couldn't find in the real world what I had imagined.
At the end of episode 1 they have the Hound talking to Tyrion, which makes me very curious what the "Mountain that Rides" should look like. Now he should be truly massive!!! A Great Khali or El Gigante type but I don't know any legitimate actors who are this size. (Sorry to use wrestlers as examples but these guys fit the mold.)

As with any book made into a movie or tv show there are bound to be those who are happy and those who are upset. I waited 30 years for the Lord of the Rings Movies and was upset by the many director's changes but I think they caught the essence of Tolkien's work from a lifelong reader's perspective.
Now this series from HBO comes along and I"m pretty freaking impressed. I've watched all trailers about 5 times and the 1st episode 3 times now. I admit some things were rushed and some edited but the casting is just about perfect (except for Catelyn, sorry just not what I had envisioned for her to look like, and King Robert, he should be a very big muscular guy turned fat not a fat guy.) the sets are spot on and the 1st episode was wow. However,if I had not read the books I might not have gotten as much out of it but it was still awesome.
I can't help but feel the director's did their best to recreate Martin's books in film. They sure didn't take the liberties that Jackson did with the 500 elvish archers at Helm's Deep.

Very good post. Can't say I really disagreed with anything that was said but I always agree with anyone who wants better Starks!

Congratulations to ZP on a hard fought win in the championship, even if I was rooting for his opponent.
Cincy regional was awesome and the gaming store had a really great setup.
