    Chainsword Replica!

I've been working on this for about a month now and after a lot of blood, sweat, and tears I am happy to say it is finally completed! It's based on the design by Studio Oxmox for THQ that was given away as promotional prizes with the release of the Space Marine video game. This measures 37" tip to tip and weighs around 4lbs. Constructed out of lots of materials - The handle is resin cast around pvc pipe which forms the grip itself and runs about 2 feet into the blade to give it strength and stability. The blade is pink foam sheathed in MDF and then fiber glass for extra strength! The details on the blade are mostly styrene plastic with some resin bits as well. The inscription on the side reads in High Gothic "Imperator Dentes Ruminant Omnes" which roughly translates to - The Emperor's Teeth Chew All. The Hilt reads "Pax Imperium" which translates in essence to - The entire world (galaxy) is the Imperium, or basically we rule all! Painted with an airbrush and by hand using acrylic paints and given many coats of spray varnish to protect it on the bloody battlefields of the 41st millennium! If you'd like to see the behind the scenes as to how I built this check out my latest blog post. I have a build log with pictures and descriptions of the process! You can view my blog HERE! Thanks for looking!

    Inquisitor's Rosette

After years of running Dark Heresy my group finally became Inquisitors! To commemorate such a monumental event I told them I'd make them rosettes. I usually make my players some trinket to remember campaigns that get really deep and last for years anyway, and what's more appropriate to Dark Heresy than a rosette? Well I finally delivered on my promise to them! Here's my Inquisition Rosettes. They're cast resin, 2.5" tall, 1.5" wide and about .5" thick. I painted them with acrylics, gave them a shot of gloss varnish and hung them from black beaded necklaces to complete the look. I hope my group likes them! I wrote up a short tutorial on how I made them at my blog - steamtech1876.blogspot.com/

I needed something extra to put next to the bolt pistol on the shelf so I whipped up some bolt shells for Christmas! I am going to make a couple more and use them as Christmas Tree ornaments I actually have a blog where I go into details about how I make a bunch of my props! steamtech1876.blogspot.com/ Cheers all!

Life-sized 40k weapons and purity seals

I was chasing a xenos (read - cat) around my house when it become very obvious that a bolt pistol was only as good as it's ammunition, and having no ammo was seriously affecting my marksmanship. The answer was obvious...to the workshop! Fresh from the forge, bolt shells! (because the bolt shells from the "Ultramarines" movie were just too awesome looking!)

Life-sized 40k weapons and purity seals

Thanks The purity seal strips are printed on cotton by a local company for me. I do take commissions but there's some things I can't sell due to copyrights and protected IPs and the like. You can find my email address on my blog - steamtech1876.blogspot.com/ (I'm always a bit leery posting my email address on public forums). Please feel free to drop me an email and we can talk Here's some new stuff I've put together recently: Master Crafted Inferno Pistol Astarte Bolt Pistol New Imperial Guard Medals of Honor

Life-sized 40k weapons and purity seals

Hey gang, I wanted to share some props I've made from the 40k universe! I've been running a 40k game since Dark Heresy first launched and we've been incorporating each new system as it released so after a few years of gaming I decided to spruce up the gaming table a bit hehe. Sadly the weapons aren't Astartes sizes, but no one in my group is either! here's my Bolt Pistol - Here's the Inferno Pistol - And finally here's a couple of Purity Seals I made as rewards for my players - Hope you like them!

    Life Size Warhammer 40k Replicas!

Now for some non-weapon stuff! Here's Purity Seals! And Imperial Guard Medals of Honor - All of these props are resin castings of sculpts I did in various mediums. I've given out quite a few of them now and my group absolutely flipped out the first time I handed them their Purity Seals. They still wear them and their medals to every game haha. The guns are just fun to have on the table while we play, and when fighting gets thick someone always grabs one and starts pantomiming their character which has lead to some hysterical scenes in the game room. Honestly it was probably the best thing I did in that game, and recommend it! If you can't sculpt, just print out purity seals that are life sized and give them to your players. They really respond well to it!
