    Discordant Questions

Hello everyone. I have a question about discordants. Can they use guns or melee (power swords, chain weapons, shock, ect). If anyone can answer this for me, that would be great.
  2. Hello all, I have an Idea for an Ascension Based Campaign. The Pc's are currently on Hive World Still Yet to be named. It is going to be like Dark Crusade, where the PC's are going to have to travel from area to area to defeat or ally humans or xenos. Currently they are in teh main hive. It is currently being under sieged by a strange reptilian xenos race. My players are a vidicare assassin, a storm trooper, a Inquisitor(who was a psyker) and the Cleric Ascension carrer which escapes my mind for the time. They allready fought two soldier, a general and a psyker( who is currently in the coner peeing itself, literally!). I plan for them to encounter orks, my custom exodite world eldar, two spacemarine groups, two chaos space marine groups, tau, necrons( including the pariah allong witht the new necrons), Dark Eldar. The reptile xenos are trying to force all the other worlders from their planet but they don't want to kill them (Except for the Dark Eldar). The PC's have a chance to ally with the reptile xenos and cause a temp (if permanet ally ship with the Hive World). I plan for half way in the campaign for nids to show up and threaten the world

Dark Heresy Ascension Campaign, world wide battle

You see Im not going to have the players encounter all teh enimies at once, that would be over kill. The players, depending on their actions, would cuase the other enimes to come. I plan for the planet to inhabit the imperium, adderclaws(the reptilian xenos) and orks on a distant island. The players, as the explore, may find a small tomb filled with necrons(though they would not know about it when they entered!) or several old and ancient web way gates that they could accidentaly activate having teh eldar (or dark eldar) coming here

    Worst Game Ever….

My worst game? Itwould have to be my groups very first game of D&D. I was a level 2 human pally, my freind was a level 2 human sorcerer and my other friend was a dwarf ranger who was level 3. We found a chest and when we opened it we found a sentiant great axe. I take lead and step to the next room, falling into a pit. The sorcerer asks me if I reached the bottom yet, and my response was a rock to his face nearly killing him in one shot. I manage to get up and a Ghoul jumps us! It kills me and the others are maimed. I turn to my friend and tell him to maim and destroy my body so that we don't have another ghoul. He proceds to do it. Next thing we know another ghoul pops up and kills the sorcerer. The dwarf runs away and pretty much the campaign ended there.

Can a Criminal Become a Cleric?

The idea of criminal becoming a cleric is a interesting concept. He/She could have been forced to join the Ecclessiarchy becuase of a crime. He would more than likely be forced to wear a explosive color. He would still have the tendancy to steal, loot, ect. But with him being a cleric, the leader of men as described in the core manuel, he would find new ways to have 'fun' with his ne job such as exploiting the lower class for money and a work force. He could potentially mak a break away sect of the Ecclessiarchy on the planet that would support the usage of drugs saying that the drugs are the 'gifts' of the Emperor

    Opinions on a campaign Idea.

Well are the PCs told that they were mind wiped? If not that could give them the option of playing other races (unless our forcing your PC's to be mindwiped, which would suck for them). You can allow them to create their backstories for their charecters like any normal PC but at the end of their campaign you reveal to them their true history, which could lead chaos, shock, or even amazement!

A doctor who based Acension Campaign

Once my acolytes finish their current campaign, them nearing the end of it. I plan to have them all go their seperate ways for their acension based training (20-30 year time skip) I plan to who ever chooses to be inquisitor stand in a room with the three Inquisitor Lords and the High Inquisitor Lord of the Psion sector(a custom sector of mine). Here are the three lords Inquisitor Lord Thomas Shipsale- The acolytes inquisitor and mentor. He is a ex-magos taking up the mantel of the inquisition. Even though he has to go back to the Admech for 50 year check up on his machinery thats the only service they do for him. He is lord of the white court, the Ordo Malleus of the psion sector. His left hand and part of his arm has the essence of a blood thirster traped in it. How he has it restrained is by 9 golden arm bands running down the entire left arm. Inquisitor Lord( or Lady) Yuki- The youngest out fo the three lords, she is the Lord of the Black court, the ordo xenos. She has ties to the eldar exodite world of Tulka-mahtar. She watches the players, judging their movement wether they are a threat or not Inquisitor Lord Antiketos- Antiketos is the example of a witch hunter in people mind only changed a little bit. He wears black power armor with two torches coming out of his back. He carrys with him a scythe and heavy flamer that he uses to destroy towns that are rumored to harbor rouge inquisitors. He works with the Sons of Judgement chapter. He hates the acolytes greatly because he belives that they will all turn rouge one day, including Thomas Shipsale. he is the lord of the red court, the ordo Herreticus. High Lord Inquisitor Mordred- Mordred is the most powerfull psyker in the psion sector, he started off as a puritian who turned to radical. Later on in his carrer he had accidentally summond a greater demon of malal. During this time period they manished to bansih it back but before it killed his partners nad fellow inquisitors. He then decided to turn back to the puritan side of the inquisition. Vowing htat he would destroy all daemons, heretics, and xenos. Now that he is the High Lord Inquisitor of the Psion sector he has to play the role of th balancer between all three courts. I plan to have the Ordo Chronos show up, reemerged by some odd force, aka the Doctor, but with the Ordo Chronos coming back Daleks, Cybermen, Santaruns and the like show up in the psion sector, pressenting another threat. The forces in the sector are the Inquisition, The Screaming Wyverns SM Chapter, The Sons of Judgement SM Chapter, The Poison Wyverns CSM warband, the Arcane Devestation CSM chapter, Hive Fleet Chimera, Exodite World Tulka-mahtar, the Winter Court Kabal DE, A sect from the Tau which I have yet to name,

    Your thoughts on my Inquisitor

If I can throw out my own opinion and thoughts. I have a Inquisitor NPC similar to what your describing. He is Inquisitor Anitketos, Lord of the Red Court, and also A pariah. He doesn;t get along well with alot of the memebers of teh inquisitor and the radicals aswell. He hunts down any form of psyker, killing them even if the claim of heresy was false. He often works with a space marine chapter who hunts down radical inquisitors. If he ever meets anyone who has any form of psychic, faith, daemon weapon, ect in the inquisition he treats them with disrespect but will work with the grudginly if ordered to work with them

    Hell Spawn

This was a short story I had to write for my social studies class...until I switched the setting to a 40k universe and things went of track from there and I want your guys opinion on how it is ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I step up to the docking bay of the Rouge Trader, Ventus Servetus. Behind me a cell of acolytes stand behind me. The captain of the ship steps up to me. His hand resting on his power sword, ready to draw it if necessary. “Who are you?” The captain says. “Cause if your one of the pilgrims going to the Frontier World I can’t let you on my ship.” I glare at him from underneath my wide brimmed hat. “Do you think I care” I say. I grab him by the front of his shirt, pulling towards me so that we are eye to eye. I reach into my pocket and pull out my rosette and bring it to his face. His eyes widen and he jerks back from me stumbling away before darting into the ship. I flick my hand and enter into the ship, my acolyte’s following me. I step into the bridge and squads of Imperial Guardsmen surround me. I flick my eyes at the Guardsmen, some old and some new recruits. “Why are you here” The captain says stepping forward. “I just need to check out the planet you are exploring, Vanderlin was it?” I say with a taunting tone “You would not harm an Inquisitor would you?” The Guardsmen flinch at the word and start to back away. “And I’m not interested in your Xenos Warp drive Captain, I’m not from the Ordo Xenos” I say stepping forward. He grits his teeth and glares at me with accusation. “I do not believe you Inquisitor” He says with a growl “But I have to deal with it…don’t I?” I give him a wicked grin. “Yes you do Captain, whether you like it or not, this ship is being used by the Holy Ordos” I say tapping my foot. “Well how much do you have one you Inquisitor” he says, saying the last word as if it was poison. “I have my power sword, bolt pistol and my power armor. All weighing 39.5 kilograms” I say with an arrogant tone. “Best quality power armor? That had to be a fortune to pay...and you must be rich” He says with a sly tone. “If you’re thinking about robbing me don’t try...I have a friend on your ship…watching you at all times” I say my hand now resting on my power sword “I ‘suggest’ you start your journey towards the planet…now.” He grits his teeth and says something in a language I could not understand. The Guardsmen let out a visible sigh of relief, their shoulders going down. The Captain of the ship walks away and the ship lets out a shudder as it goes into the warp, heading towards our destination. My eyes snap opens and I see a lankier version of me standing there. He has blue skins and multiple eyes across his body. He gives me a wicked grin. “You should give in to chaos Inquisitor…You can gain more power from my master, Tzeencth” The creature says. “Sure…over my freaking dead body you Daemon scum bag!” I say glaring at the Daemon. It lets out a shrill laughter that could shatter windows and break ear drums. I wince at the sound of its hideous laughter. It looks at her and gives me a wicked grin, obviously enjoying my pain. “Ah such power that could be harnessed from a Psyker like you” It says before fading away. I close my eyes and rub my head in frustration. The Ventus Servetus bursts through the warp and into the Material plane once more. I look though the window and see the planet we are going towards. The planet was red, like Mars but had large patches off green across it. It was like the Mars of old, before the Adeptus Mechanicus got their hands on it and turned it into their Forge World. “So this is the planet” I say looking down at it. I close my eyes and reach out to the planet with my psychic senses. I wince as I feel raw and untamable power fluxes from the planet. “By the God-Emperor please let it not be Orks…I hate Orks!” I say underneath my breath. I stand up and walk towards the lobby. I duck as a sword nearly cleaves off my head. I look up and see the Captain standing above me, with a twisted and black blade. “That was not a power sword was it Captain” I say, my words venomous. “So what! It’s still my sword Inquisitor! And you shall die by it!” He says with maniacle laughter. I draw out my power sword, its blade pulsing with unseen energy. He dives at me with the sword and I parry it with my power sword with ease. “How did you get that sword Captain?” I ask, already knowing the answer “Did you pledge your soul to a daemon or steal it from a major chaos cult leader?” I say. I dig my blade into the captain’s side. He lets out a screech as his side split apart easily from the force of my sword. I bring up my sword and the blade cuts through him, digging through his heart. He slumps to the ground and lets out a gurgling noise before his eyes mist over. My acolytes rush out and look at the dead captain. I look at my acolyte cell and smile. I had an imperial world cleric, a hive world assassin, a noble born scum and a forge world tech priest. I turn to my cleric and stare him down. “Give me your hammer…now!” I bark at the frail man. He pulls out a large hammer, much bigger than him. He hands it over to me and I take it in my hands and slam it several times over the sword, the blade cracking before shattering. A daemonic howl comes out of the blade before quickly disappearing. “I’m glad you’re a Null” I say patting the assassins shoulder. The ship lands on the planet and I step out, musty air filling my lungs. “Stay in your cell and search the area” I bark at my acolytes. They shiver and run off into the forest. “I have my own exploration” I say walking off into the forest. I close my eyes and reach out with my psychic senses. The raw force is close and near to me. “Must be a huge Ork Waagh” I mutter distaste in my voice. I press forward and halt, an ominous presence near me. I whip around and I see nothing there but my senses are screaming that something or someone is here with me. I shiver, this was unlike a Nulls presence but something warp tainted. I press on, screams of victory and rage echoing out. I duck into some bushes and look out. There had to be over 9,000 orks in the area. In the middle of the orks was an extremely large on, with a large, shoddy claw like attachment on its left arm. “Orks and a whole **** bunch of them” I mutter. “If only I had an army of my Tau allies” I mutter “Time to burn them with fire!” I get up and gather my will. A flaming red ball of energy appears above the orks and they look up at it, gasping. “It be purrty!” “Dats shiny!” “Me wants it!” Several orks yell out from the crowd. “Burn, Holocaust!” I shout. The orks whip around snarling before screaming as a fire storm erupts from the fire ball and engulfs them. I keep my eyes closed and keep forcing the Holocaust to expand, bringing in every single ork. I slump to the ground and look up, fatigue covering my entire body. “Oh by the God-Emperor…not you,” I growl. The travesty daemon of me leers above me, its face in a wide grin. “You brought me into thi- Grrk!” The daemon chokes as a giant metal claw grabs it by the throat and lifting it into the air. The giant ork holds the wiggling daemon in his grasp before tightening of the claw and a sharp snap is heard before the daemon falls limp and dissipates. “You puny Humi shall die!” He says raising his power claw up, his face contorting with anger. He swings his claw down and I close my eyes. Is this the end for me? I open my eyes after a several seconds to see a figure in black armor standing in front of me. He had to be at least 8 feet tall and his armor had flames painted on it and bones strapped to his legs and shoulder pads. “That’s Adeptus power armor…” I say. The figure holds the orks arm up with ease. “Who is yo- Gah!” the ork screams as the figure kicks him in the stomach, sending him flying. The figure pulls out a large bolter and let’s looses a flurry of bolts at the ork. The ork screams and the figure pulls out a large knife and digs it into the ork before twisting the dagger and pushing it right through the orks chest. The ork looks down at him and lets out a snarl before falling limp back wards. I approach the figure and he turns to look at me. “You’re a space marine…one of the Legion of the Damned” I say “By order of the Ordo Obsoletus you are to come with me...NOW!” I say drawing out my power sword. The marine stares at me and I blink. I stare at where the marine stood, as if he was never there! I grin and slump to the ground. “Hopefully the acolytes are not dead yet…if they are no big problem plenty of planets in the Imperium to recruit more from” I say getting up and heading towards the ship, a smile of satisfaction on my face.

    War and Kaiju

The thing is the PCs have a Space ship that they own(It was a gift from a previous mission) and they have some people on the ship that can aid them, such as mutant Hull Ghast Guardsmen. I plan for plenty of enimy units to be using alot of tactics

    War and Kaiju

For my next heresy mission I plan for the Pcs to land on Kuluth. As I had stated in aprevious thread of mine about this Im expanding on it. War: A minor CHaos Diety that want to overthrow Khorne. he is currently possesing the Commisionar of the Death Korps of Krieg, the 666th regiment the Bhaal Spawn War WS BS S T Ag Int Per Wp Fel Wd 87 60 90(27) 76(14) 50 72 71 68 41 168 Skills:Awarness+10, Dodge+10, Psyniscience, Forbiden Lore(Warp, Daemonology), Secert tounge(Daemoic)+20, Speak Language(any) Traits: Daemonic, daemonic presence, Fear (5), From Beyond, Warp Insatbility, Unnatural Strength (x3), Unnatural toughness(X2) Talents: Ambidextrous, dark sight, two weapon weilder(melee), Combat Master, Lightning Attack, Swift aattack, Bezerk Charge, Hatred(All), Battle Rage, Brutal Charge, Furious Assault, Immunitiy(psychic powers) Manifestations: Freakish Grasp, Ghastly Max, Chaos Breath, Strange Skin Girfts: Hellish Weapon, Skull for the skull throne, let the blood flow, smouldering armor Weapon: breath(1d10+7 pen5 s/-/- Flame) HellBlade (1d10+29, pen 29) Armor: 12 all around The next enemy on the list is King Ghidorah, Mutant Xenos. The only one of his kind. He is a Null so most people in the regiment dont like him but they trust him with their life. Why? Becuase He is a able bodied fighter, weilding shot gun and power sword into battle. He Helps the Pcs regardless if they tell him to go away Skel-ghail: A silent guardsmen. Not known to the others he is a mutant with unnatural speed and agility. Since he can not properly weild a gun he has to use a flamer thrower and loves hit and run tactics. If he is caught in melee he pulls out two extremly sharp knifes that if they hit armor it reduces it by the 2 AP Permenetly. The only way the PCs can convince him to help is if they beat him in a race.(Which is possible becuase he will be shot during the race and if they decide to help him he joins) Reanna:A crazy female tech priest who is obssesed with Archeotech and Robots. She doesn't care for either factions but will take any fallen weapon and repair/modify it.She will join the Pcs if they present her with a wepon or thing that she likes. 'Mecha': A grave keeping mech(about the size of a battle suit). It comes with the Pcs to the planet and can hold its own agaisnt one of the heads of Ghidorah. It can easily aid the Pcs on taking down hoards of traitor guardsmen

    War and Kaiju

The daemonic manisfestations are from the Daemon Hunter supllement. War is, stat wise, a greater daemon of Khorne.

    War and Kaiju

Most of my players are near the final rank. Dont worry they will be able to do damage to him *cough*baneblade*cough*. They will recruit the remaining loyal deathkorp guardsmen. As for the Deamon he will have possesed/traitor guards and his own body guard of mutant guardsmen at his sides at all times. When the meet him he is in the body of the commisinar and several bulky guardsmen(aka the mutants) as well as their first ally, Leon. Leon will bail them otu and take them to his tent and explain to them the situationa nd what he thinks may be going on. He will suggest to them several allies that may help them in their quest

    Assasination

My and one of my fellow players have been talking. He plays a hive world assasin, wanting to ascend to a vindicator assasin. So we came up with rules for assasination. He would roll for damage from the gun and subtract toughness and armor and what the number came out to be would be the crit damage
  15. Brother-Captain Belfire

Can a back story effect more than character?

Yes it can See my charecter in my friends campaign is a Schola Progneuim(orphan child) Arbitrator Heres his back ground When ever he had asked about his parents people just stared at him and never responded. One day a band of dark eldar raided and destroyed everything, all teh people where either killed or enslaved but he was the only one left alive. Why? They did not know of his existance nor could they find him becuase he was underneath a pile or rubble. After a team of guardsmen came to the wreckage site they found him by a cyber mastif. Now is his life go perfectly? Sort of. until he became a acolyte and arbitrator his life was 'normal' people just gavehim weird looks. Not know to him he is a Null. Even worse his father is a Chaos Sorcerer(Yeah I know it conflicted with canon info. I didn;t know at the time). He also passes out when ever he encountered eldar
  16. Brother-Captain Belfire

    Assasination

Im nerfing down the Vinicare Asssassin so he only ahs 3 or 4 dodge so that he doesn't dodge everthing and my assassin palyer(who has not ascended yet) threw out the idea to me. I thought it was a good idea and I wanted your guys opion on it
  17. Brother-Captain Belfire

Letting a Pariah/Null whatever you refer to them as in a Dark Heresy game

Simple with the Null, as people have stated above, people hate them. I play a schola progneium null abritrator, and my charecters father is a choas sorcerer(long story), so only his powers can hurt my charecter. Also throw this in, eldar will be trying to kill him at every turn! Eldar fear Nulls because if Necrons get their hands on them, guess what, a brank spanken new Pariah. It does not matter if its a farseer, the farseer will come up to the null and start chocking him/her to death if neccessary. Also throw in the Fun Lovable..wait I was reading that wrong..Necrons. Necrons will houndthat player no matter waht, through the darkest sewer and imperial churchs
  18. Brother-Captain Belfire

How to fight against PCs using a lot of flame weapons?

There is a mutant in purge the unclean in which his mutation makes him invincible to flame weapons and halves(i think?) las, plasma and melta shots. Throw mutants like that at your pcs and they are going to be in a bit of trouble
  19. Brother-Captain Belfire

    Chaos... Orks?

Adeptus-B said: This is from the 4th Ed. Daemonhunters Codex. The picture in the book includes a whole Chaos-mutated warband, but my Google search only turned up this cropped image... You relise that could just be a nurgle chaos cultist. I don;t think the chaos gods and even touch the orks with out Gork and Mork beeting them to near death

    A day of heresy

Hello All once again. We have started the first mission and the group has encountered the dread and his group of rubric marines. Now they dont know its a null zone and the psyker ahs but on his null ring to prevent psychic powers from hurting him. Also the acolytes have angered the Sons of Judgement chapter because the assasin spoke the name of a daemon outloud(which got him shot in the chest by a bolter) any suggestions?
  22. Brother-Captain Belfire

    A day of heresy

Hello all once again.Since i am doing a all day gaming seasion on saturday I plan to do several missions. The first on out of this will be a fight between two groups, the sons of judgement(a dark angel chapter successor) and the Arcane Devastations(thousand sons splinter war band). The Sons of Judgement have a Witch Hunter with them, Aniketos(the final inquisitor to give the acolytes permission to inquisitor hood). They are on a abandoned mining world, Nanme. Why are both Marine groups here? Simple to aquire/destroy a 'special' servor skull Sons of Judgements reasons To destroy the Servo skull. It is a abomination that contains information about all demononlogy in it To defeat and pass 'judgement' on the Arcane Devastations Arcane Devastations reasons The servoskull contains info that they would love to get their hands on and kill anyone for it! To whipe out the Sons of Judgement, duh. Now why is this servo skull so important, besides being a mobile grimore of true names/libera daemonica, it is sentiant. It will make witty remarks, comments. and its name is bob(based from the dresden files). Now the acolytes will be fighting in abandoned mine shafts, narrow at times and large and wide. They will encounter chaos spawns in the narrow hall ways. I plan to have to acolytes enter a very, very dark area(which is a psychic blank zone) and there will be a chaos dread waiting for them in their, but not your random "stabity!stabity!stabity!" chaos dread but a cunning and patient one, Huron Maldir. (which i need stats for) the acolytes will have to take a -30 perception test. If any of the acolytes pass they hear the sillent creaking of gears. The lights will flash on and blind the acolytes for 1d5 rounds where the dread will announce himself to them. With the dread are 10 thousand sons with him. combat will begin and once the acolytes slay the thousand sons the dread will retreat and collapse a tunnel behind him. As the acolytes wander through the tunnels they have a 10% chance of finding bob wandering the tunnel. there is another 5% chance that they will encounter marines from either of the two groups(or the inquisitor! yikes!). As they encounter bob he will probe them for question, dodging easily if anyone them attacks him. He will join the psyker as a familiar(the cleric has excalibur, the assasin is trying to create a daemonic familiar to get back his deamon from his deamon sword, and the guardsmen will get his turn next mission) If they do not get bob they will continue to wander down the caverns having a 30% chance of finding Apollyon Darius Chapter master of the Sons of Judgment, Hebron Justinian captain of the 6th company or Baltus Antipatros the corrupted apothecary. Baltus would love to collect the bodies of fallen marines, and the acolytes! Balus created a drug that if he dies it automaticly restarts his nervous system and heart, repairing them. Baltus will be the final boss of this mission so if the acolytes stumble upon him the two champions from the Sons of judgement will appear with the acolytes. Combat will begin and after they 'kill'' batlus the Chapter Master will ask them questions. Who are you, what is your purpose here, who is your inquisitor, ect. If any of the acolytes trys to loots baltus body, baltus punches them in the jaw(breaking it in the process) and her runs Second mission Kaiju on Kuluth As the title suggests the acolytes will fight a Kaiju, more specificly King Ghidorah. Yup im setting them up for pain. They will also encounter War, the minor chaos god of blood, servant to Khorne. They will encounter guardsmen from the deathkorps of krieg(why?because my guardsmen pc says thats where he came from. I am okay with it) Their immediate ally they encounter on Kuluth is a a guardsmen named Leon, the only one who is not affected by wars chaos influce(null for the win).He will tell them to follow his lead and not to do anything extremly stupid. He will lead them into a small encampment filled with guardsmen and the commisionar(who is possed by War) A few seconds later Ghidorah appears and tears through the camp, reducing all the acolytes to 1 wounds. The commisionar will be standing there laughing like a mad man, proclaiming that Ghidorah was a tool of khorne(which he is not) Now why is Ghidorah here? 1. food. All those humans tast yummy! 2. destruction. He loves to destroy and wants a challenge since kaiju are spread across the galaxy Wars reason to rise above the Blood God himself posseded the commisionar to send fresh recruits to their deaths. Im still working on it Comments, questions, or Critique?

    A day of heresy

Mind you they wont die if they hit the wall but take 1d5 damage ignoring armor. If they encounter either of the spacemarine heros they will be taken to their encampment inside the mines where they will meet a small but deadly force of marines.
  24. Brother-Captain Belfire

    A day of heresy

They are pretty compitent in combate but agaisnt a dread i belive they would be wasted and thrown out like trash. Also the reason it waits in a null zone is becuase one of the pcs is a psyker so that forces him to use melee. Plus if any of the acoyltes attacks the dread he putns them into a wall of the cavern making several acolyte shapped dents
  25. Brother-Captain Belfire

    Question on Corruption Points

In my campaign my pcs have only gotten corruption points by doing stupid things, such as the assasin pcs who took a deamon sword(which broke later in the campaign) and now trying to summon the deamon as a familar adn of course my psykers psychic phenomias but when the group was fighting a logi daemon he struck it in the body casuing it to explode annd bath him in warp light causing him to get a crap load of CP points
