  1. Tech details about the Google permissions thing, for interested parties. https://gist.github.com/arirubinstein/fd5453537436a8757266f908c3e41538 iOS users should go to the App Store and update their app, as it recently fixed the Google scope issue. (They also fixed crashes and other things.)
  2. My husband and I went to the Mall of America for a Sunday afternoon date. There were SO MANY people playing Pokemon Go. It was awesome! Total strangers were high-fiving and telling each other where to find Krabbys or Wigglytuffs. We had a lot of good-natured joking with people from other teams, shaking our fists and mock-scowling at them. There were like 25 Pokestops and most of them had lures set up. We caught at least 150 each and got so many items our bags were full. This game is so fun, and it warms my heart to see so many of my geeky people out and about in the world. It also makes me smile to overhear the non-geeks wondering aloud what everyone is so excited about on their phones.
  3. I'm so excited at the thought that Vader killing (or whatever) Ahsoka might be the thing that drives Ezra to the dark side; he wasn't strong enough to save those he loves, so he wants more power, the sort of power only the dark side can provide. TIME IS A FLAT CIRCLE.
  4. YES! Yes. This is exactly why I loved when Kylo Ren told Han, "Your son is dead. He was weak and foolish like his father, so I destroyed him.” He shows that same forced distance from self as a way to cope with the internal struggle of light and dark. The only way to truly become what he wants to become is to kill who he was and be born anew in the dark side. This guy! This guy gets it! What I want to know is, how was it he got Vader's mask/skull without being annihilated by shark toothed piranha-like hordes of bloodthirsty ewoks, and yet was beaten in a lightsaber duel by some teenage chick who just discovered the Force for the first time? Is he so emo he's THAT intimidated by cute girls? http://www.bustle.com/articles/133310-how-did-rey-defeat-kylo-ren-in-force-awakens-this-explains-how-the-force-newbie-got http://shaochilong-maortuensis.tumblr.com/post/136576509935/kylo-ren-is-a-*****-he-lost-to-two-noobs-with-no

  6. I haven't been that happy with a movie top-to-bottom since the first Iron Man movie. It was so goddamned perfect. Even when a joke was kinda dumb it was still so perfectly Deadpool that I didn't mind one bit.
  7. Adam Driver is hosting SNL on January 9th. I'm guessing there will be plot points joked about in that show, and that's when I'm calling it long enough.
  8. Personally, I think Driver looks a LOT like Harrison Ford. They have really similar noses, the same rangy build, and the same naturally smirking mouths. They both have really intense gazes and great smiles that totally change the nature of their faces. I also can see shades of Hayden Christensen in Driver's face.
  9. I'm so sorry I didn't get a chance to stop over and say hello! (I'm Molly Glover, the current producer for X-Wing.) I had some printing problems and it delayed me to the point that I had to run out the door to make an appointment. Happy birthday! Thanks for spending it with us!
  10. I have never tried an audiobook before. I like reading and do it really fast when I want to digest a book. I like books to sweep me into the action. With Aftermath, I felt like I was in a stream with a slow trickle. It moved, just not at a pace I liked. Yeah, I have a 40-minute commute to work each way, which amounts to more than 6.5 hours of driving each week. I listen to audiobooks while I drive, because it's a great way for me to pay attention to the book while also being able to focus on the fairly mindless task of driving. As a result, I'm really picky about narrators. I've returned audiobooks (did you know you can return books to Audible even after you've listened?) after just 15-20 minutes because I couldn't stand the narrator. This is one of those books. However, based on what I heard, I think the "describe a movie to a person who cannot see" style of writing (at least, that's how the first several pages are written) would not please me on the page, either.
  11. The audiobook was not for me. The audio effects were distracting at best, and the narrator seemed to feel he needed to ramp up his reading to "performing" and it turned campy. Really, really campy. Maybe I'll try reading it myself, but I don't think the writing style is what I like to read.
  12. I make games! But, I also have a pretty much full-time alternate life in theater. I'm a comedian and actor. I also work at the Minnesota Renaissance Festival as a street performer. This thread is awesome, btw. Good jorb, OP.
