Definitely going to be a "must have" book for me!  If I'm ever "not" the GM, I think I'd roll a Technician.  I've always enjoyed the quirky, yet brilliant engineer story lines.

Oh it's not that it can't be used to Reflect.  It's that the specific saber my group found is.... not a traditional training saber.  I probably should have elaborated earlier on, and it's the reason I wanted to confirm that traditional training sabers were identical (pure energy blade) to regular sabers.  What my group has found is technically an ancient training protosaber (external powerpack and all).  Quick backstory is they discovered an ancient Jedi temple (one of the characters is big on the explorer, archaeologist field), and found several artifacts inside.  One of which is the training protosaber.  Regardless, it can both Parry and Reflect as a lightsaber and/or training saber can.  It's just not quite as good at it for several reasons, the obvious being it's an ancient relic that in all likelihood is no longer function at peak performance.

Like I said, probably should have elaborated more earlier, but I was being rushed when I made the comment about penalties.

That's an interesting way to handle things.  I'll consider it going forward from now on.  As for why it's odd for 1 PCs obligation to be called in, the Hutt who gave them the ship likes it split up so he can call on each Favor individually... but knows it'll likely pull the whole group into helping that single Favor.  He's planning to keep the group indebted to him for a while!  Hutt's are devious.

Okay, I just wanted to make sure.  How I handled the Obligation, is I gave all 5 characters 10 Obligation in Favor to the Hutt who provided their ship.  So in essence, they each own 20% of the ship.

TalosX got a reaction from kaosoe in Is the B-Wing Underpowered?
Well, the B-Wing wasn't technically a bomber either.  It was a classified as a heavy assault fighter.  Sure it can fill a bomber role. However, unlike a bomber, it doesn't run from combat once it's out of it's torpedoes.  It has the defenses to shrug off hits that would total an X-Wing, and enough non-ammo based firepower to equal 2 Y-Wings.  The thing is though, if they stat'd the B-Wing like it's supposed to be, it would drastically out-class it's competition.  I take it's stats as the Devs simply balancing the fighter out a bit with it's counterparts.

Except Sabine was the gunner who fired the B-Wing's megakannon!?  Hera was just flying the ship.  Also I kind of doubt Hera has 5 Agility and 4 Piloting.  I mean she got solo'd by Vader in a fighter, when she had a small fleet (3x blockade runners & half a dozen fighters) backing her up.  She's definitely skilled, but not even close to Vader-level.

EDIT: I'd place her around 3 Agility & 4 Piloting personally, but that's just me.

Okay, I see now how the XP charge works for Universal specializations.  Must of Missed it on my first read through.  However, you mention that Universals can't be taken as your first specializations.  I take this to mean: "a PC must choose a proper career and specialization as normal, but could immediately use the starting bonus XP to take the Universal while still in the character creation process".  Is this accurate?

It doesn't look like you can split the attack though.  Meaning you have to shoot and slash the same target.  I might be interpreting it wrong, but that's what it looks like.

I'm curious how you deal with Improved Reflect?  Since you don't know if the attack actually hit you to begin with, how do you know when you can activate Improved Reflect?  Also have you considered using Setback dice instead of adding Difficulty dice?  Not a suggestion, I was just curious if you'd tried it?

The core rules suggest that the GM not allow Strain recovery between scenes if Force die remain committed.  It's a suggestion, but a good one in my opinion.
