    I prefer to use official FFG material wherever possible for consistency.  I have the 1E figures for all 12 heroes.  I think the art should match these.

    Another playtest session report.
    Campaign: Shadows of Nerekhall
    Quest: Local Politics Encounter 2 (this is a continuation of my previous report)
    Power Level: Epic (Advanced)
    Healer: Aurim, Bard
    Aurim was not that useful throughout this quest.  He had good mobility, which would've been great, but he kept getting hit with Web Trap.  The potions didn't prove to be helpful.  For one-shot play, he seems perfectly fine the way he is, if not underpowered.
    No proposed fix
    Warrior: Hugo the Glorious, Raider / Treasure Hunter
    Hugo continued to be a solid hero.  This version feels good.
    No proposed fix
    Mage: Landrec the Wise, Necromancer
    We now tested the "Proposal A" version of Landrec: "Each time a hero performs an attack and rolls no Surge, add 1 Surge to the results."
    This version was much more balanced than any other version previously tested.  He still feels slightly on the weak side, so I think it would be good to change his Heroic Feat to 1 surge for +5 damage.  I'm worried about this version in Act II though -- it may be a blank ability, as heroes have more dice they will be rolling surges more often.  So I think this version of Landrec needs to be tested in Act II.
    Again, to summarize:
    Version 1.0 (CK): "Each time you perform an attack and roll no Surge, add 1 Surge to the results."
    Version 2.0 (bad): "Each time a hero within 3 spaces performs an attack and rolls no Surge, add 1 Surge to the results."
    Version 3.0 (broken): "Each time a hero within 2 spaces performs an attack, add 1 Surge to the results."
    Version 4.0 (slightly weak in Act 1): "Each time a hero performs an attack and rolls no Surge, add 1 Surge to the results."
    Proposal B: "Each time you perform an attack, add 1 Surge to the results."
    Proposal C: "Each time an adjacent hero performs an attack, add 1 Surge to the results."
    Proposal D: "Each time a hero within 1 space performs an attack, add 1 Surge to the results."
    Proposal E: "Once per turn, when a hero within 1 spaces performs an attack, add 1 Surge to the results."
    Proposal F: (@kbalazsa: "too strong"): "Once per turn, when a hero within 2 space performs an attack, add 1 Surge to the results."
    Proposal G: "Once per turn, when a hero within 2 space performs an attack, and rolls no Surge, add 1 Surge to the results."
    Scout: Kirga, Ravager / Beastmaster
    We replaced Stalker in this test, because it just wasn't a problem at all.  We tested the new Kirga Feat with the following fixes: "Add a number of fatigue tokens equal to your Speed..." (removed "twice") and "At the end of any figure's activation..." (instead of "at any time").
    Kirga felt so much better this way.  So much so that I think we should add back the "twice Speed".  The real problem was being able to interrupt other figures' movements to move.  Doing so at the end of another figure's movement fixes all the problems, but still allows Kirga to do sneaky things.  That being said, to bring Kirga's Feat in line with other Feats that do similar things, it really should be "twice Speed".
    All that being said, the Hero Ability (can't be targetted) can still be extremely good.  And needs to be tested in quests like Shadowfall Mountain.  However, I think Kirga is getting close to "done" and feels really good to play.

    Comes from Legacy of dragonholt (but this special case, he would really fit as a healer with this look)

    I'm really impressed by your art work, this is really great ! The hero ability has a little trouble since it allow to find the chest easier, but some tests are needed !

    For the figure, with hero forge, should be easy to do

    I made a quick version of Aurim with new character art that fits Rugals version.
    I think this guy looks like a dude who scours through search decks and hands out potions.
    I have not found a mini that fits yet  
    It might be possible to do something with this figue.
    Maybe finding the mini first and modifying art later would be a better idea.

    I made changes to this picture.
    EDIT: After Rugal's comment below, I made a change so Aurim only picks one potion per quest but flip it faceup at the end of each encounter. This way you don't go through the Search deck as easily.

    Yes, Glyr can move the 2 selected heroes 2 spaces 
     
    Yes, Bogran feat has many troubles : what happens if the monster moves out far, dies etc ... but move 3 and attack with Pierce 2 is already on Nara. I'm on this one already

    I'll keep testing it as it is. Poor one had literally nothing but the Knight starter weapon and shield + a Staff of Light. Now he has a Trident, Elven boots and a Leather armor so he might serve a bit better.

    He already has many advantages and don't need more : allowing heroes to move (not only himself, sometimes he can allow 2 other heroes), familiars, etc ... with large health value, and his feat having 2 powers is great. If you wish of any change, I think that his feat ability could be opened to "within 3 spaces" instead of "you and adjacent"

    Ha, you would cumulate effects ? I think that the game was not ready for those situations, but the Bearded axe power would, for me, work only if attacking with it only. So, in this case, having him 2 handed weapon in each hands has no problem at all.
     
    I think limitating it to only 1 weapon with 2 hands icons in 1 hand is still great. Adding him 1 stamina while he has a not 2 weapons is a good idea, but will be a real trouble to find the wording since there is not so much space on his hero ability sheet

    Maybe "While your equippement hands have 2 or less hands icons, apply + 1 to your stamina" ?
     
    Removing the "at start of turn" for the feat of Glyr has a little troubles, for example, as a disciple, he can use Radiant light twice, since he can spend his stamina, then feat, then spend his stamina again.

    I've played it for a long time now, and his feat just need to be a bit viligant. Many of the overlord cards have effect either "at the start of your turn" or "at the end of your turn" and you need to be attentive when playing, just a catch to take. But I admit it takes some time to adapt (since I've played very long time at Magic, these special case are nothing to me, Magic is really frustrating sometimes because of the tempo system)
     
    Why 2 spaces ? Since all effects of the game are at 3 spaces, it is kind of weird, and then can happens to create frustrations. But this proposal looks like more balanced, even with 3 spaces radius.
     
    Even if  I'm afraid that even with a feat within 3 spaces can create balance troubles : a real overlord can play around it, and can move his targeted monster very far, so the hero will be lost alone in middle of nowhere and dead with no possibilites to be raised before one or two turns, and on the other hand, can be used to go through a place that he should not be able to and break some quests (like many other teleportations skill, the biggest issue being the Trutheseer Translocation that just do stupid things !)

    I hope I can try him soon, so I will be able to see more and give feedbacks
     
    Thanks, it takes me a very long time to find this one, a full day on the net to find it ! And I really like that artwork far more than the "original" one

    the Raven flock is by far more broken ; you can oftenly spawn it almost anywhere, sometimes having a bonus reinforcement, and since it can move to 4 spaces, it can activates many overlord objectives and grants many actions. The biggest issue from my game experience from many years

    Not in a million years. If we like what we see, we buy their products- that's how game publishing works, right? "It's too risky" is not an excuse to pass development costs to the shoulders of the consumer on the front end, that's what a price tag is for. Game companies like ANA shouldn't need to rely on crowdfunding to support their projects-it's a model much better suited to independent developers who don't have infrastructure in place to deal with overhead. If companies like ANA need to resort to it, I take that as a sign their strategy is already failing.

    Maybe
    Only if the game offers exactly what I'm searching for, yes, but highly unlikely, because I'm not patient enough for Crowfunding paying an item that will come years later if it ever , I'm not confident enough with this to give money and saw too much project that never finally existed, and because crowfunding is somehow a store killer, so, really unsure

    BTW, AI for solo/coop does not necessarly need an app 😉 In fact I will consider it if no app is needed: it can be there to easy bookkiping, but you must be able to play without it. I am not interested in a 1 vs many version, but it doesn't bother me if it is there.
    Just as an example, Blacklist Games just ended a KS project for a game (Dire Alliance: Horror) which is 1 vs 1 or coop whith many mechanics in common and without the need of an app. A similar concept can be explored for "Descent 3.0".
    BTW, I don't think that Asmodee/FFG is anymore a "good games" producer: they lost too many important people for boardgames development and Legends of the Dark is a demonstration of this.
