Keeping second edition's 'journeys' going....
rugal replied to Watercolour Dragon's topic in Descent: Journeys in the Dark
Do not cry, as long as us fans are here, the game is still living ! What about Carthos and Brother Glyr and Varikas ? -
We are many to think this and is with price one of the reasons to not buy this game. But I think this one is by far the ugliest from all. But I really hate the card template too

Keeping second edition's 'journeys' going....
rugal replied to Watercolour Dragon's topic in Descent: Journeys in the Dark
In Runebound V3, Red Scorpion is in search for the Gilded Blade. This could be her special hero quest and if the party win the quest, they obtain it. If played with an Overlord, must find a counterpart then -
Keeping second edition's 'journeys' going....
rugal replied to Watercolour Dragon's topic in Descent: Journeys in the Dark
That's a really good idea ! Adding this on the classic game mode is esay, and should not be so hard it you know how to code. Some on BGG have opened that app so maybe they can help But a rumor card on the classic play is easy to create ! What type on reward should it give ? A special weapon ? A unique class card ? A new hero sheet with new artwork, feat, and/or hero ability ? -
Did this have to be descent themed?
rugal replied to EpicBubbleSA's topic in Descent: Legends of the Dark
The Descent theme is not the problem. But naming it Descent is indeed. Since it is not descent v3, another was better -
I won't. Accepting games are going a way I don't like, accepting games are doubling prices, accepting that I will never find my pleasure again with new games ? This is not ok. I hope this game fails so game will come back the way I like, sorry for the ones that would like this game. But I know some players think the opposite but that won't make me change.

Let's see if this game lives more than 1 or 2 year. Since few years, no FFG games was supported more ...
-
Why would I accept this game since I hate from the time I playtested it ? I won't change my position and that's why I'm returning to do my custom stuff for the second edition with my friend.

What if there's a clue in the twilight?
rugal replied to Watercolour Dragon's topic in Descent: Journeys in the Dark
I would say sooner, 3 years, because of 2 points : a 3rd edition wouldn't compete singe it is not the same product, and because of marketing speaking only, the more expansion there is for a game, the less they sell and it is better to have sooner a new game and 2 or 3 vig expansions than many during years (even if it is my dream to have new new Descent V2 expansions each year for 10 years again). Maybe the solution would be a V3 playable as a stand alone but that can be also an upgrade kit of the V2. Or maybe a V2 expansion but that can also be a stand alone -
The more I think of it, the more I think this game should be a Terrinoth universe game but with no descent in his title like : "Legends of Terrinoth" so this way the game would have his on identity and could exist without his big brother and since FFG insiste on the point that is no Descent V3, this would be a better communication. But since they chose descent in the title, this will without any doubt be a threat to his life as a game. If looking the game with no Descent in it, I would be less agressive, even if the app only driven mechanic regarding of the app is for sure a risky choice and the price is ridiculously expesnsive regarding the components (either price is cut in half either all 3d carton is replaced by plastic to be acceptable). But as a Descent game line, my position won't move : this game sucks in all ways, to the point that even if I would receive a free game, I wouldn't even play it, because of 3 points : horrible art, the mechanics of turning over cards over and over, and a boring app that makes me feel playing a bad video game decorated with few miniatures on an unfinished prototype game. So buying and playing this game would be as acceoting games are going the wrong way and I refuse to accepte this statement. If i were them, I would immediately change the game name to save the idea. This may look nothing, but I'm sure it is really important

I'm on totally opposite : the simplier the base is, the better it is to see the miniature on different grounds. To me, a black flat base is like a shadow of the figurine and immediately I find it on the board.

We need to be a Dungeons Master (Overlord)
rugal replied to Rodrigo Schena's topic in Descent: Legends of the Dark
In video games, they usually states that beat them all was useless in comparison with vs fighting. Seeing how well Streets of rage 4 sold, this was wrong -
I'm almost sure it will be like Runebound and Runewars miniature or even Imperial assault : some expansions during 2 year, maybe plenty, and then nothing more and that would be all, and only if the game sells well
-
Alas, it will never happens. Maybe some years before, before many changes, it would happend but now ... You know, when you are small, you take care of the few near you, but once big you forget and ignore them all, too much to be cared of
-
Your opinion is welcome. Maybe you are right, but less made me ran away from video games. I may continue to play but as films and vidéo games I will play no more than 1 or 2 new ones a year ans focus and old but greater games
-
I'm really curious to see how much and how well this game could sold. That would help me to see if I must change hobby or not
-
If all the carton based were in plastic, maybe it would justify the price
-
Sorry, disappointement makes me angry
-
Maybe you are right. But 175$ for a game for 40 miniatures, cartons base 3d, ugly art and needing a phone to be plates, seriously ... Even licencied game were cheaper. Terrinoth is their universe, so it could be far cheaper. If the game sells good, then, I was wrong, board game go a way I won't follow and that's good for them, bad for us. But if I was right, the game won't live more than 2 years like Runebound v3, or Runewars miniature. A well sold game doesn't mean it is good. Just that the marketing was great about it, that's all
-
I did it already many times. Won't repeat myself.
-
Don't like it. Valyndra was the figure I liked the least because of her base
-
I don't like themed base. Too much on a gameboard and having a water themed base on a forest board is strange
