  1. Can anyone recommend a good (preferably add free) message board for an online Dark Heresy game I am spinning up? TIA.
  2. Yup - thats pretty much it... Got a DH or RT module that fits us?
  3. I have an experienced group of gamers (each player over 20 years experience) - we have played a lot of DW and really enjoyed it. We also regularly play Ars Magica. The list of systems we have played over the years is pretty long. I am considering either Dark Heresy, or Rogue Trader (or perhaps a mix of the two...) as the next system I run. If its a mix.. then I will likely allow the ascension rules (although I am not familiar with them). The only thing I can really say about our group... is they like to be led by the nose. Its not that they can't think for themselves.. its just that we are all professionals and well.. by the time we kick off at 8pm at night after a day at the office (and we all have kids) we are all pretty tired.. and just want to have a fun game and not think too much. We like to kill stuff... but there has to be a story and a reason. In other words, our group likes a well told story with a big bang ending. DW has been great.. but as marines the plots are pretty one dimensional ( we have played all the current modules) and we are ready for a change. I like the idea of both RT and DH - but what would you recommend and why? I don't have time to write my own modules, so also need advice on whats the best 'lead by the nose' module out there. I need something that the players always know which way to head and aren't left trying to decide what to do. My gut tells me DH might be a better choice than RT - perhaps with the ascension rules to make it more interesting? Any help and recommendations are greatly appreciated. One last thing.. I don't have a huge amount of time to prep. each session; so it needs to be a easy flow module to get us started. Hope that all makes sense?

  5. Finally arrived today - Yay! Number # 486 Very impressed at the metal crate it comes in. But I prefer the parchment paper used in the Rogue Trader special edition. Overall this is a good effort by FFG (although their shipping time sucked big time). Given the long delay in getting this out I think I would have prefered it to come printed with the errata - but its still a great collectors edition. Two thumbs up.
  6. Finally got a tracking update today - after being dispatched from FFG on the 22nd December it has finally landed in Australia on the 11th of Jan (I could have flown there and back more than a dozen times!). Anyway... hopefully the local post gets it out to me in the next few days.
  7. At least you got yours.... I am still waiting (and getting more pissed by the day). Tracking hasnt shown an update since 23rd December!!!!
  8. Still waiting here... tracking says it left the USA on the 23rd... but there have been no subsequent updates......
  9. In the same vain as 'Why use Plasma Guns' thread... This is about to come up in our group with marines getting access to respected equipment. On the surface of it the Storm Bolter just kicks Xenos butt - and other than raw game fluff and flavour (which I am all for) why would you take a combi weapon over storm bolter? The second weapon is single shot only... and the rest of the time the gun is just a standard Bolter - the Storm Bolter is dealing out way more damage on average. Am I missing something? I read somewhere that the Storm Bolter is going to be 'errata'd' to make it distinguied, or terminator armour only? Or that may have been in the house rules section.. I dont recall. Its hard to see a good reason to take a combi weapon over a storm bolter....

I was one of the first to order this thing - I got up at midnight local time to hit the server as soon as it became available. I paid up front in full - my CC was billed more than two months ago. I have emailed FFG on several occassions to ask for an ETA and not even the courtesy of a reply from them on my last email around a week ago. Hence I registered here to vent my frustration. The product may well be amazing (if and when it arrives) but the customer service sucks. I wanted this for Christmas for my son but now.. without word on when it will arrive it looks like I have to go shopping for something else. Most disappointing. Freight might be busy this time of year- but I payed $100 for express freight airmail. At most that should be five days shipping. Not a happy camper with FFG at this stage.... Well.. I managed to establish vox communications via an Astropath through the Warp with customer disservice at FFG this morning. A Polite phone call that led more or less nowhere was followed by me lobbing a haywire grenade into the chaos base station that is FFG. Several astro seconds later an email rocked up in my mailbox that the item would be shipping today - which means no hope of it getting to me by Xmas. I am disappointed that A: I had to activley chase this up to get any kind of result and of course B: That it wont be here for Xmas. FFG's solution? Quote "Why dont you package up a space marine in the meantime?" Well.. because if I wanted to give my son a space marine I would have gone shopping at Games Workshop! Sigh.. I guess I am just a victim of living on the other side of the Warp in Australia and FFG's seemingly uncaring attitude that some people might actually want these for Christmas.
  11. Yes - A 'Polite' Phone call will be sent over the vox tomorrow. Should a suitable response not be received a killteam will be dispatched.
