in your thoughts on how a Deathwatch Marine is supposed to live through a single blow from that Power Claw.
It is does smell of charred and smokey fate points.

Edit: In case that wasn't clear, I'm saying that you get a Power Sword (stat-wise) from that Signiture Wargear, but that power sword is a modified chainsword, yes? Same stats as power sword, just looks badass. Because that's what is important, right?
A chainsword with an activation rune for parrying and increased PEN. I feel a visist to Harl Greyweaver would work.

Following this chain of thought though, wouldn't it mean that the techie's servo arm is technically an "improvised weapon" too?
It would be except for the fact it is linked directly into their nervous system and becomes another arm as far as the user is concerned.
Despite its direct connection to the user by some means, It is a big lifting arm, it is not designed as a weapon. So I agree with Mr Grarm.
However this is still off topic. I would also not allow battle brothers to lower themselves by using bulkhead shears for combat, unless in dire emergency.

I would agree with that, it's for being a mechanic. But that said handy if you wanted to play cards and open a cask of wulfmead at the same time. My kind of improvised weapon.

I'm not totally against the idea, I don’t have the stats for the frostblade around (as I’m at work) are there any restrictions? However the reason this has come up is the parry vs a powers weapon. SgtGrm did loose two chainswords in one/two sessions parrying powerswords (dodge).
Perhaps there could bean attachment that could increase the resistance to power fields when parrying OR negate it? The weapon equivalent to a lightning rod or a machine spirit type thing (capacitor) that could absorb a limited amount of charge.

Fantasy Flight....when will you get your product to Lake Charles, Louisiana?!?!?! We eagerly await the suppliments and yet we have not even recieved Emperor Protects, not even at big name stores such as Books-a-Million. My local game store has had everything PREORDERED and still has not gotten anything in. WHY HAST THOU FORSAKEN US?!?!?!?! The Allfather demands that you send the products immediately so that his sons may fight the enemy of Mankind!
We have recieved all the Dark Heresy and Rouge Trader books at the proper time but Deathwatch products have been denied to us here well past, WELL PAST, when even that mysterious lost island in the Pacific has recieved their copy.
Ditto...... replace "Lake Charles, Louisiana" with Amazon UK.
My only though it time dilation in the warp. My friend already has his, ordered from Gameslore..... consider this lesson learnt.

Thanks for the thoughts guys.

Watch Capt. Sigismund of the Black Templars. We had every other (RAW) chapter represented arround the table so I thought it was only fair.
Except to the KT's Warp Witch!

Bear in mind that elite advances in DW have a default cost of 750xp. For something that's not even in the book, let alone in the characters' advance scheme, it probably shouldn't be cheap.
I agree but as I dont own the DH or RT books myself I am going from a lot of assumptions. I should think the minimum cost of a Psy power is 200 XP in RT, could it be as easy as XP Cost + 550 plus some good roleplay to get the required knowledge.
I am also going to be putting the lack of books right, as getting the books from a friend to read over the next couple of weeks.

This could be done to "First Blood", whom ever draws first blood wins. This would be a down time (between missions) thing I would run it to the first point of critical damage taken, it can heal so why not. They may even get some cool scars out of it and a good change to roleplay.

Sammail said: Something I've used with success in RT is spacewalking (or -jumping, really) from the airlock of a transport to the target airlock. A small detail which terrified my players. Lots of fate points were spent to avoid missing and drift away into the great beyond.
Do jumppacks work in the void?

During the session I was running last night, our Ultramarine Librarian knelt and prayed to the Immortal Emperor of Mankind... Duel of the Fates from Episode One blares from his phone as a buddy tries to call him... without breaking stride, the Librarian player enters a tirade of prayer and blessings to the Golden throne.
My choices were.
A, Reprimanding him for have anything to do with Episode 1 on his phone.
B, Confiscating his phone and telling him not to do it again.
C, Sending Vindicare assassins to “neutralise him”I went with giving him an XP reward and a cheesy grin for being awesome and giving me one of the best role-play moments of the last 18 months.

Or when they become hero level they can request armour from the home chapter, or the chapter has some 'on loan' to the DW.

One of my players wants to buy Psi powers from the Rouge trader core rulebook.
The power he is after at the moment is pretty low level telekinesis, should this be an elite advance or can I just get his to purchase at face cost? I don’t want to set a bad precedent.

I love the idea for this, all the mini encounters sound great and I will be running something similar to this in the next couple of weeks (as we have just finished Final Sanction and Oblivians Edge).
One point that I will address is why have this appear near Ultramar, as the Ultramarines would respond? I would put this in Jericho's Reach somewhere near an automated watch station.

So a DW Keeper is a what?
Looks amazing!

Makes me **** to play a wolf.

Sounds like a lot of fun but agree the final showdown should have been geared to the PC.
However on this note, I'm going to add an NPC to our game, a quiet type who does what he is told by his squad leader.

I am working the 5 hands system for weapons load out and three hands for a heavy weapon. Limiting my players to one heavy weapon, which isn’t cruel its just common sense.
I’m not sure how much ammo to let my players take in, I was going to enforce a slot system so they can choose there own stuff. Any Ideas on how much they should carry? Maybe 10 slots?
Slot(s)
1 Pistol Clips and all Nade’s
2 Basic Weapon Clips
3 Melta Bomb, Heavy weapon (if backpack is not used)For instance, 10 slots? Four extra clips for a bolter and two frag grenades?

This is something that our group tries to do. My brother and I tend to be the active GM and we have tried to encourage the other players into giving GMing a go.
