You don't need to. I don't regret having two core sets.

Dear denizens of the Arkham Horror forum, thank you for a year of enlightening discussion, creative analysis and top-shelf procrastination. May you all survive the claws of Ithaqua and make it into the Roaring Twenties with soul and sanity relatively intact.

Sorry, my mistake. It can be any investigator at any location who draws the skull token. You can then heal horror from one investigator at either Jim's location or a location connected to Jim's location.

The Ythians weren't out of theme, though. They fit quite well. Plus Kn'yan is established material too.

No. Just no. If tabletop cardgame was just released alognside it, then it might've been an interesting business strategy. But considering circumstances, by allowing players import their physical collection they would be setting themselves up for an investment with no return, and no sane person does that. Releasing newer packs with codes that give you goods in digital game might've work in current circumstances, since it would entice physical card game players to try out the digital version, and provoke digital players to buy physical stuff. But just giving everything away immediately on release would just spell financial disaster.

    People prefer different things.
But one thing I've noticed people like to do is compare the depth of the current state of the tabletop game to the early-access core set of the digital game. Obviously the game with a 7-year head start on the card pool is going to be deeper.
Thinking back to the core-only days of the tabletop game, bow much content did I actually get for the $40 I paid? Well, Passage through Mirkwood was a really easy quest meant to teach you the game, and I only played it once. And since Escape from Dol Guldur was impossible as a solo player, it left me with only 1 enjoyable quest to play. On the player card side, the deckbuilding was very shallow, as nearly half the cards were overpowered staples (Eowyn, SoG, ToW, Hasty Stroke, Feint) and the other half were overcosted for what they do.
Meanwhile, the $8 buy-in to the digital game gets you 5 playable quests, with future one-off encounters being free once they get released. You get more total player cards, and way more playable player cards because they use the gameplay data to buff the underplayed cards until they become useful.
Having been around for the core-only days for both games (well, the core for the digital game isn't even done yet), there's no comparison. The digital core set provides much deeper content for a fraction of the cost of the tabletop core set.

It wouldn't truly be a Return to the Night of the Zealot without the return of a missing card that just has an unexpected back.

Terrinoth is the most boring fill-in-the-blanks fantasy setting ever, but I can see what they would be reticent to rescue a game from a bad license and then immediately attach it to another license.

I hope that the books will be offered in some stores which don't have shipping costs on the "do you accept kidneys as payment" level as well, otherwise I'll have to skip them.

Personally, I don't have a problem with several spells affecting the magic resistant monsters (like the Poison Mist). First of all, it is a magic resistance, not an immunity. If the monsters were immune to magic, then I'd be surprised if some spells could affect them. And second, some spells can be potent enough to overcome the monster's resistance. It's like you are sitting in a tank - you are pretty much immune to the small arms fire, but it takes just one anti-tank rocket to turn the mobile fortress you're sitting in into a steel coffin.

Yes, I dared to point out the irony of your previous post. How petty of me.
You know, I have to pay extra $35-$65 -ish just for shipping of this book right now from FFG.  But instead of crying about it, I'll wait if some shop offers it for a better total price or if not, then who cares? It's just a few cards, the world won't end. Or will it?
I did the same with the promo cards for Elder Sign and I had to even order them after buying the books.

I think the game doesn't need any big box expansion. Or maybe just one, if the additional board and components would add some kind of an area like Dreamlands, but even that is questionable. I'm content with just adding new GOOs, investigators and other stuff. While adding some new mechanics may be a good idea, too much of them would turn EH into an AH-like abomination. Now, I don't mean to say it as an insult to AH, but merely to state the fact about unnecessary bloat AH suffers from. AH is a great game on its own, but when I want to play AH, I'll just....play it.

Here's the thing: If there was a 3xp, 0r card that just said "Add four supplies among assets at your location," plenty of people would be interested in it. A card that does that or can give you extra resources is not a bad card by any metric. At best, you can argue that the four resource effect is so powerful that nobody will ever use the supply effect, but that's simply not the case. There's currently only one other effect that can increase supplies, and that's the far less efficient Contraband. It's not like you can take those four resources and spend them on some other card that'll give you more Ichor (except another copy of Acidic Ichor, but you can't really rely on drawing both copies).
Is four resources better than four more uses of Flashlight? Probably not, outside of Rex+DoN shenanigans or a really nasty Chaos Bag.
Is four resources better than four more uses of Painkillers? Debatably, depending on the investigator. Mark certainly thinks so; four extra uses of Sophie is certainly better than two extra uses of Keen Eye.
Is four resources better than four more uses of Acidic Ichor? Hardly ever. You could be wasting your Ichor on rats, and you'd still be getting 2 resources' worth of Dig Deep for Minh or Rex (and neither really want to include Dig Deep if they can help it), and Daisy can't even boost Fight in the first place. Against monsters with 3+ health, the action efficiency you're getting for each supply is unparalleled.
Now, will there be builds that never touch this card? Of course; that's true for any card (except maybe Higher Education). Will there be times when you draw this card and decide you'd rather have the resources? Probably, but, again, that just makes the card more flexible, which is a point in its favor.

I'm still completely perplexed by your analysis, which requires you to consider the opportunity cost of a card *against itself*.  The *value* of Emergency Cache (III) is that it is so flexible, allowing you to trade off between resources and supplies as needed. Sometimes resources will be more valuable, other times supplies, other times a mix will provide the overall greatest value for the group. The fact that you can freely convert resources into supplies is an advantage, not a cost. But I expect we will continue to talk past each other, so I will leave it there.
