Its nice to have a movie out for a game ive played for 20+ years Im not all that spoiled to see it come out for what it is and written by one of the top icons of games workshop i would be very upset to have to wait 5+ years for a peice of candy to render . we are what? 6 movies into the Star wars series and how many years? Ill have it on my plate now thanks. It will be a good seed for the genre . and stimulate interest . and retain those of the faith that are not Spoiled.
  2. sounds fun and pretty cool . As Dm/gm handling someone that tried that "drive a tractor trailor thru the eye of the needle " crap he got his 2/two hits the rest went wild as his guns bucked in his hands as he fought for control. he cried but i asked where does it say for degrees of success do you get the extra ones? it even says in the short blurb under the talent on page 91 "one ballistic skill test hits target twice" I know we miss common sense sometimes but dual shot is for the player with revolvers or the like . not some git looking to min/max , munkin , beardy the game up. you dont need them if they cannot play with some sort of decency you need to excuse them. it helped too that we also went to a range and i asked him to do the same thing with 1600 rounds of ammo and paper dolls at his disposal. his complaint was he was not a Character . even with the 4 hours we had burning up ammo and all the help from the pro gunners. the same description i gave him is what happened every time.
  3. Wow 8 players And Deathwatch at that . Road kill. Not even a scratch or dent. At least 2 would be stuck running baddies. Fated baddies at that. Some would never even fire the Holy Bolter in anger. Almost 5 will go before any elites/hordes you use. and be fine mist before the 4th even fires. Would have to box text a Adversaries attacks to even see light. Course ive eaten 14 players one night when they ALL showed up. just turned it into a meet and great between players since some didnt know all the players under the Inquisitor.
  4. Our Sister of Battle made the marines look like chumps, She was skilled. As in skills that Kill it ! Bots dont get for some time Nearly all her gear was mastercrafted or hand tooled from a tech-priest. plus with the fact 80% of the group droped old toons to play Deathwatch. She was left to Acend and runs the show. Lots of the group buckled at that but most know the lore and get why this little female runs the show. Sure she stands behind the wall of Meat ,at horde time but after the one round it takes. She is top dog on the Elite monsters "mastercrafted multi-melta" that a marine cannot req. till several games. The one player even enjoyed his Cleric ranting to the masses' to do as "he said " till the deathwatch had forgotten to requisition teleport homers. Me thinks this was some conspiracy on the Deathwatch tired of being summoned to the " loud mouth big britches wearing Cleric" aid .

  7. For the level of Grit d20 whould have never done it justice. Magical Boltgun ? to scale damage against a CR 25 Hive Tyrant. no grit Ork warboss using his Powerklaw +4 Vorpal, LimbLopping 18-20 crit chance . CR 14 no grit having some dirty crazed fanatic stab himself in the name of his diety and spill open the gates of hell grit party member missing arm and shiny metal one instead while sporting a pipe taped to his missing leg stump till we can find a surgeon grit heck, actually needing medical attention. and could die because he removes head instead of the bullet rolls badly grit Magical Blue and Red potions. no grit Reliable magic spells with no risk. no grit D20 game system Character is at no risk of death even in the game guidelines hes supposed to live. no grit Fate = Quarters Out of Quarters= play SMARTER till can get more or have to start ALL OVER "Game over man! Game over" Grit D20 inherent flaw cheating metagaming, Min/Max, Munkinism i look at that last one and i think im done. in my time playing the new (ie 1992 and on)d20 games ive never felt at risk or in jeapardy at any time becuse ive always know the monsters /antagonists never have/had a chance with poor stats and specialised roles. coupled with the gaming associations needs to have you make it to 20+ levels. sadly the d20 is for those people who have to win with no risk. thats what those games are made for. In Dark Heresy / Rogue Trader / DeathWatch you make it to another game session because you used your brain and RAN . And not doing some thing so bullheaded stupid you had to have the DM/GM fumble your way on to the next game because your a telflon coated batch of numbers.
  8. Let the Astro-path come in as is but has to pay the difference in xp first ( Ie )all xp gains go into a hole untill the group catches up to his level. After all who would willingly want to be assigned too or care about a penal vessels well being.

On page 360 of the Deathwatch rulebook Breaking A Horde When a Horde's Magnitude is reduced by 25% in a turn, it must make a Willpower test when it is its turn to act again.If it passes it may continue to act. If it fails. it breaks and flees at its highest move value. If the Horde's Magnitude is less than 50% of its starting value, it suffers a -10 to the Willpower Test. If the Horde's Magnitude is less than 25% of its starting value, it will automatically break. Is anyone else confused.
