  1. I like this idea. Sort of an X-ship - a commerce raider.
  2. The larger ships continue to be my favorite things to paint. I really thought that there was going to be more space inside the thing so the lighting ended up being a big pain in the butt. I want to try one that has more interior space.
  3. For those who might be interested, my X-Wing playlist on YouTube has all of the videos related to this project. The last one will be up in a little while -
  4. Yep, as you can see, they can all be disassembled, though I dread having to do it to the Gozanti because of all the wires crammed in there. Having just finished stuffing mine full I know that pain.
  5. A little project that I've been working on since the beginning of the year. It was an opportunity to learn both lighting and 3D printing (this project made me buy a 3D printer). The honeycomb pattern was created with a stencil that I created on my Silhouette Portrait (which is SUPER USEFUL for creating patterns that you could never paint or cut by hand.
  8. How many shades of grey?
  9. And now the video... `
  10. This is my latest commission piece. I'll have a video to go with it in the next day or two. Poe Dameron's X-Wing by Jay Adan, on Flickr
  11. My own experiments are limited, though I have tried a variety of materials with the Silhouette. You can do plasticard, but it has to be pretty thin. Luckily, you want it to be thin if your goal is to create reusable stencils. I prefer adhesive stencils, but I could see doing the plasticard ones under the right circumstances. I've also done card stock. I made some nice Palm Trees using the cutter (link1, link2). There are a lot of guys out there starting to use it as a cheap alternative to a laser cutter and doing some fairly impressive things with it.
