Appreciate the offer, but if I do end up running a Discord for this I'd probably want to be running it myself (although I'd definitely appoint moderators if the number of members justifies that). I've moderated communities before and I'm reasonably comfortable with it, but I'm also conscious of the fact that smashing together the Genesys and Warhammer 40k fanbases in one place is liable to turn toxic incredibly fast, I can forsee a lot of nasty clashing opinions there. I'll give it some thought!

Currently I'm in the process of setting up a Wordpress page with a comments section enabled, which has nested comments and all that fancy stuff. I'll see how manageable that is.
In terms of Patreon it's something I've considered in the past but there's a few things which make it unappealing to me.
I prefer this conversion to be as freely accessible as possible. It's a niche thing already, paywalling my updates (even if the actual PDFs are public access) could risk shrinking an already small community into non-existence. If I'm taking people's money I'd want to be providing steady, regular updates. As some of you who've been following me for a while might have noticed, I'm pretty bad at that! I don't think it's fair to ask for people's money for my content and then not release something for six months straight. Copyright is potentially a problem. I know a lot of 40k fan projects chug along on Patreon just fine, but I am a little wary that once I turn this from a free fan thing into a profit making enterprise that GW or C7 lawyers might get a bit grumpy with me. I also just don't really need the money, I work full time in a very stable industry that pays reasonably well, so I don't really need to supplement my income (although extra money would certainly be nice to have). Turning this project from a hobby into a side gig could be more stress than it's worth.
Anyway, here's my Wordpress for now, still setting it up so it doesn't have all my content on there yet. I'm going to try and archive this forum thread too before the forums go down, lots of useful feedback in here over the years that I think is worth preserving.

Ever reliable and able to finish things effectively, I decided to start an Adeptus Mechanicus armoury on a whim. Only melee weapons done for now, although there's a list of planned ranged weapons.

Hey all, just popping in to drop a quick update - the 3.1 release is done. This is largely some minor balance tweaks and error corrections, although the armoury received some tweaks to better align with Imperial Armour's vehicle rules.
Here is the changelog - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1-xhkzTd9_ryrICWuTOa-4PPbB7Nbn8acaTxf8C0Rdsw/edit
And here is the 3.1 PDF - https://bit.ly/3fnrBra (Using bit.ly to track clicks as Drive doesn't have this functionality and I'm curious!)
Work on Chambers Militant continues slowly but steadily. Hopefully I'll have something for you soon!!

The character sheet is the incorrect one here. I think I did have Pyromancy keyed to Willpower at one point, probably during the beta testing of the first edition, but I changed that because it made Pyromancy feel like a much more optimal choice than the others.
The character sheet is well overdue for an update, I'll get on that once Chambers Militant is out in the wild.

Squats, and Ratings, heck yes!   Complain all you want about some of the design decisions for including Dwarves and Halflings back in the day, but man did they add more variety to the Imperial Army.   I love myself some Beastmen from Warhammer TD, so its fun to see them in this edition as playable.  Looking very good as always! Keep up the great work!   The campaign I was using the 2nd edition rules sadly fell apart, due to lack of interest on some of the players, but I do plan to use these again in the future for another campaign now with 3rd edition rules!

Oh, and I wanted to share this, though I have no idea if you will ever use it, it is something I used to use back in the day, and it does give some interesting concepts you can carry forward, or not, at your leisure.

    Quadruple posting, oops.
So I've been working on Faith Powers and would like some input. I'm trying to figure out a system for how you actually go about acquiring them. There's two options I'm currently tossing up between.
Just make them a series of talents with pre-requisites. This is a straightfoward and easy option, although it does mean they have to fit within the existing tiers, and most faith powers would likely be in the 3-5 range. Using a system similar to Force Powers in Star Wars RPG, arranging the different Faith Powers into trees. Below is a hypothetical mockup I made of something like that using some of the powers from Blood of Martyrs. This does mean that characters focusing on faith would climb the talent pyramid a lot slower.

    Thoughts? Any other cooler ideas?

Here's the Sororitas character creation chapter. Pretty short and sweet, just a couple of elite advances and some character creation guidance.

I still have to see any military campaign, that is feasible to play. Just a string of combat encounters doesn't do anything for me. Having an adventure of discovery, intrigue and investigation is more fun for me.
I must confess, I didn't look at any FFG Only War or Death Watch campaign, so I might be biased towards Rogue Trader and Dark Heresy.

It'd be interesting from a design perspective for sure, but I'm honestly not sure what you'd actually do with those rules. In your average Dark Heresy game you're not likely to have any use for a Knight on a regular basis, and your PCs wouldn't really be able to get one anyway unless they were part of the Questor Imperialis (which raises the question of what on earth they're doing hanging out in an Acolyte Cell). I guess a campaign about a squadron of Knights could be interesting but it's basically a different game at that point 😛
I'm kinda fond of leaving Titan scaled stuff in the realm of "if you stat it, players will absolutely find a way to kill it, so maybe just don't".

I don't have any particular characters that I'm super attached to or anything, so there's not a lot I can add there. Awesome to hear you're working on a beginner adventure though, if you feel up to sharing please let the people in this thread know when you're done, it'd be a really handy resource.
Scroll up a few posts 😛 It's very much in the works. Grey Knights too!
This is a pretty solid suggestion, although one thing I'm wary of is creating mechanics around needing to acquire cybernetics, as the way Chambers Militant characters acquire cybernetics is a lot more limited than the mechanics typical characters use. As Chambers Militant characters don't really have much in the way of a standard system to acquire gear (no money, all their gear is "on loan" from their parent organisation and can be swapped out between missions), I've moved to having them acquire cybernetics via a ranked talent (replacement limbs and etc for injuries are free though, naturally). So putting Iron Hands characters in the position of needing new cybernetics to offset their penalties feels pretty brutally punishing.
    What I ended up going with was leaning into their tendency to judge others as harshly as they judge themselves, which often leads to them being aloof ***** who see everyone else as inferior (while also somehow seeing themselves as inferior, they seem like a healthy bunch!), so I went with this;

And on the note of 9e, one thing I had been thinking about is dumping the distinction between Primaris and Firstborn careers, and just having more generalist careers that address the common themes. Like, both have generic bolter-wielding troops (Tacticals and Intercessors), both have forces who focus on melee with light weapons (Assaults Marines and Assault Intercessors), both have heavy weapons troops (Hellblasters and Devestators), etc. Would be easy enough to make general careers, which would be more in line with what the core book does anyway.

One other thing I've been thinking about career wise, is that as it stands Apothecaries, Chaplains and Tech-Marines get some exclusive gear, and the other careers get nothing. I'm wondering if it'd be worth giving each career a nice little exclusive bonus to offset this (something equivalent to a Tier 2 or 3 talent, nothing too good). Normally I'm against this in Genesys as I like how open ended things are, but when some careers inherently have access to exclusive stuff due to the fluff, it might help to even the scales a bit.

Starting to build out Deathwatch character creation. I've tweaked the Elite Advance to simplify it a bit, and I've added flaws to every chapter (not too happy with where Ultramarines are at, they're a tough one to assign a good gameplay flaw to).
Decided to include Primaris Marines as well.

Imperial Armour 1.0 is ready to go! Brace yourself for rampant typos and balance issues, this is very fresh 😛
I'll be putting out a small errata update to the Core Book over the next few days as well, which will apply some tweaks to personal scale weapons and how they interact with vehicles.

That could be an idea, although I'm not sure if I'd need specific rules for each vehicle; there's not really any vehicles power weapons or meltaguns *won't* wreck.
Also, what do people think of these rules for running people over?

An alternative solution I've come to with some help from the Genesys Discord is this, which feels like a more elegant solution than changing Genesys' core mechanics for vehicles.
A new weapon quality to be added to Meltas, Power Weapons and other weapons which need to pose a real threat to vehicles without turning humans into a red mist on impact.
This basically would let me tailor how much damage a given weapon can do to vehicles, while leaving its damage to personal scale threats untouched.
What do people think of this solution?

The third edition (I guess I'm calling it that now) PDF is ready to go! Huge thanks to everyone who has provided feedback, proofreading, etc while I've been working on this overhaul, it's been very helpful!
I would encourage people to download the PDF, as it is fully bookmarked and has toggle-able layers to facilitate easier printing. Those features don't work in Google Drive's document view.

    Unfortunately I haven't kept an exhaustive change log for this one, but I plan to keep more detailed errata for future updates to this. But here's a broad strokes overview of changes made;
    General
Whole book updated to a new, full colour format, aping the design of FFG's Dark Heresy Second Edition books.  Flavour text, player/GM advice and content in general has been expanded throughout. A lot more time is spent trying to contextualise things and explain mechanics, which hopefully makes it all a nicer read. Chapter I - Creating an Acolyte
The steps of character creation are given a lot more attention; mechanically these haven't changed, but they are explained better now. Careers have been renamed and mostly redesigned. I've gone with much more generic names, primarily lifted from DH2e with some tweaks. They all have a set of suggested talents and gear now, like in Shadow of the Beanstalk. Two new careers added; the Fanatic and the Ace.  Step 1 - Determine Background has been added, with some useful questions to consider when making a new Acolyte. Chapter IV - Elite Advances
Wyrd have been removed. Unfortunately couldn't find a way to make it mechanically meaningful enough to keep. Wyrds can be represented pretty well by just dropping only one rank into a psychic discipline and role-playing accordingly. Added Gland Warriors. Added a set of basic talents for Untouchables to expand their character options. Chapter V - Armoury
A new Haywire weapon quality is added, functioning similarly to Sunder but specifically for electronics.  Low-tech weapons expanded - added Bolas, Bow, Flintlock Pistol, Musket and Sling. Plasma caliver and arc weapons added. Various other gear added throughout the chapter - I unfortunately did not keep a list of what I was adding during development, but there's a lot of cool stuff now that wasn't in previous editions. Chapter VI - Narrative Tools
Downtime Encounters have been renamed to Interludes. Some tweaks to the Interludes rules. Chapter VII - Psychic Powers.
This chapter has been entirely rewritten to be standalone - you shouldn't need to reference the Genesys Magic rules when using this chapter, as I found that this was a huge chore in play, flipping between the two books.  Some powers have been tweaked, with some options added. Perils of the Warp is now more deadly; extra despairs add +10 to the roll, not +5. Chapter VIII - Corruption
Corruption checks have been changed to be something that occurs at the end of an encounter, not during.  Chapter X - Allies and Adversaries
Each adversary entry is given its own page now, with a lot more room allowed for flavour text and game-play advice.  New section for servitor NPCs so they can all be found in one handy place, along with some slightly tweaked rules for handling servitors. Suggested psychic powers are detailed on every psychic NPC's profile. Some general balance/design tweaks to a lot of the profiles. The first and second editions had an embarrassing amount of typos and rules issues, a lot of that is fixed now.

Alright, so I think the book is pretty well finished now. Tomorrow I'm going to fiddle with InDesign's export settings to try to strike a good balance between file size and aesthetics (when working with a fairly plain, black and white document, this isn't so crucial), and then cobble together something resembling a change log.
I'd love to give Wrath and Glory and EPG a pass to see what ideas I can pilfer from them, but in the interests of getting something out there, I'm going to leave that for a future update. I'd also like to cobble together some custom critical hit tables for different types of weapons to be more in line with classic DH crits (minus the hit location stuff), but that will have to wait, and I might just release it as a little side PDF rather than integrating it into the core book. Dunno yet.
Anyway, watch this space, book inbound.

Chapter VIII - Corruption, is now done! Give it a look, let me know what I messed up, etc. The only real mechanical shift here is what I mentioned earlier; shifting Corruption checks to be something done at the end of an encounter, not during. Should hopefully make those spooky Ordo Malleus adventures less clunky. Also general extra context and guidance padded in throughout like with all the other chapters.

Alright here's the first draft of the completed Psychic Powers chapter overhaul. This is quite a big shift from the current release PDF version; it's entirely self contained now, to minimise flipping between the Genesys CRB and the Dark Heresy book.
Not a ton of mechanical changes, just expansion on the flavour text and player/GM guidance, and a few little mechanical tweaks here and there. I added a couple of extra effects to Augury, lifted from the Predict power in Genesys EPG.
    https://drive.google.com/open?id=1HdgkjlpgeSAdoHFr1t7_vlgCGfxfMj8z
Onto Corruption, then Trauma, then we're done!
I do want to go back to the talents chapter and bulk it out down the track; there's a few good ideas in Wrath and Glory, and EPG probably has some stuff to lift too. But in the interests of releasing a complete PDF this century, I think I'll restrain myself 😛
