Noob question - Attacking Players

[Noob question - Attacking Players]

Hi all,

Our group has only played 3 times so far and are all still learning the ropes.

So my first noob question is

When you attack a player and win the battle they loose one life, do you get to take an item of your choice as a reward as well or does that only happen to you have taken there last life and they drop all there items?

Hello All,

 

Our group played this for the first time a few weeks back and we have had a total of about 3 games so far.

The first time we played we thought at the beginning of each turn you could choose your direction of movement  however after reading the rule book we got the impression you could choose your direction at the start of the game but only switch when moving in between the different regions.

What does everyone else do?
