  1. Do monster attacks work the same way as PC attacks, so that by default the monsters add a 1d (easy) purple challenge die, plus any PC defence dice against the monsters attack?
  2. When I am in the middle of a quest and go to the home screen on my Android phone, then reopen RTL, the app resets to the title screen. When I reload my save file, it starts at the beginning of the quest, instead of having saved at the start of each round. Also, the screen dims after a minute, then turns off after another minute. There are no options to control this within the app, and I can't find any settings to disable the screen timer for individual apps on my device either. I have the same issues when playing the Battlelore app too, but all other games I play on my phone don't have these problems (like Elder Sign and other non-FFG games). Has anyone else had these problems? Is this a bug or is this a problem with my phone?

  5. Theoden from the Morgul Vale pack isn't a selectable hero on the quest Log. Has anyone else had this problem?
  6. My main complaint is the incompatibility with the old scores. I've logged a lot of plays here on the Quest Log, and now those scores either have to be deleted or have to be ignored in when comparing to other players' scores. In any case, it messes up the score statistics, even when just comparing your own scores from previous sessions.
  7. On an adventure card with multiple tasks: can I spend a focused die to complete one task and also immediately place a new focused die in its place to use for the next task on the card?

    AH Lite?

    The element of having various dice seems to add a new mechanic and strategy not found in Arkham Horror. Instead of the familiar roll of 5 or 6 for a success, now there are varying requirements for a success and different potential outcomes for each dice roll. I think that will make for an interesting amount of depth and strategy, especially for a quick and easy to pick up kind of game that this seems to be. Can't wait to try it out!

  10. The card game is supposed to take place between The Hobbit and The LOTR. Does this mean there's a chance of having events like the White Council against The Necromancer? That would be really cool, especially since the upcoming Hobbit movies are rumored to cover the Mirkwood events in some detail.
  11. Each time my family has tried to beat this game, we can never make it past the Shelob board. What are some common strategies that you can suggest to actually win? Do any of the expansions make the game easier? From what I've read it seems that they only add more difficulty, which is definitely not what we're looking for.

I am eagerly waiting to play this game for the first time and am currently reading through the rulebook, but one thing seems a little odd: Page 14 states that when the Shadow player has dominance, the event card with the highest priority number is resolved from the 3 cards drawn; however, on the next page the rules say that the higher numbered cards tend to benefit the heroes. Is this done so the game remains balanced between sides, or have I misunderstood something here? Why would the player with story dominance be put at a disadvantage, instead of vice versa?
  13. If an investigator is unable to solve a puzzle on the first attempt, is it possible to use a second movement to immediately retry the puzzle, or is it required to wait until the next turn? I couldn't find anything specific in the rulebook on this.
  14. Thanks for the advice. Just played through my first game, and I was very impressed with it. The rules aren't so complicated and we had a lot of fun with the base adventure. Just a couple things: 1. I was fairly disappointed at the choices for Heroes. Do only the big box expansions come with new Hero cards? Are they any cooler than the original ones? 2. I found myself constantly looking through the market deck, hoping to find some allies with strong stats, particularly Range, but it seems most are pretty weak. Which expansions offer stronger Allies? Is Weapons of Legend a good choice?
  15. I'm considering buying some extra d6's, and was wondering how many I should stock up on. (The 5 dice included with the game are never enough, and re-rolling slows things down.) Has anyone calculated what the maximum number of dice are needed for any one investigator during the course of the game?
