Dam said: Dan said: I cannot find any plain "Melee weapons", everything is "Sharp""Blunt", yet in the combat deck there are just "Melee Weapon" Cards. Does that mean they apply to both "Sharp""Blunt",are we waiting for an expansion with just"Melee Weapon" cards? If you attack with a Sharp Melee Weapon, you resolve the combat when either Sharp Melee WeaponMelee Weapon card is drawn from the combat deck. This is stated in the rules on page 23 under "Combat Keywords". Look for "Melee Weapon".

"Store the tiles in a pyramidal silver cage." "Don't play the game over underground watercourses or other places with bad feng shui." "Don't even dare to play the game on a Friday the 13th!"

Put some packs of silica gel in your gamebox.

Ditto; though in my case I can't wait for the German translation Me too! But we have to wait for the first reprint of the original...

Lyker said: Your english is flawless. Why do you need it in german =) Firstly, thanks for the compliment! And yes, it is right as jhaelen said. I wouldn't mind playing the game in English, but most of the people in my gaming-group wouldn't be that happy with it, especially with a text heavy game like this.

I'm sad now... Do you have a link? I didn't see anything of the kind. Or is the German publisher someone other than the Heidelberger Spieleverlag? See here: http://forum.hds-fantasy.de/viewtopic.php?f=157&t=7295#p50576

I just read in the forum of the German publisher that the German version will be printed along with the first reprint of the English version. So no synchronous release. I'm sad now... Which means that you have to buy lots of copies so it has to be reprinted quickly!

It might be possible to create your own scenarios, yes? There's no doubt in my mind that you could create your own scenarios, but keep in mind that the clue cards are very plot based. I've been considering scenarios I'd like to do, but I'm going to wait until I've gone through the scenarios in the game. I'll probably end up making my own clue cards. Maybe someone will make a MoM variant of the Strange Eons program.

The official statement from SPIEL '10 was February 2011 for both the English and German versions.

letsdance said: i am not a big fan of those plastic minis :-/ but it looks like in MoM they may be easier to distinguish from each other with the stats shown on each. and it looks like they are easier to distinguish from the player characters (one thing i hate about MEQ). also, the stands look like they are stable, and don't warp alot like about 50 % of my Descent monsters. but still, all in all i would prefer the AH monsters material and game price. i really like to see colors(!) on the players and monsters, even if that means they are cardboards instead of mins. any info on a box inlay yet? something serious like AH, or just a big nothing like MEQ and Descent? They said, the monsters will have different stats (even if they are of the same type) and you won't know how strong a specific monster is until you look on the bottom side of the token in the base. Which you can't do apparently until you decide to fight with it. So it's more risky to fight with a monster than in AH. The inlay of the demo box was just folded cardboard. You can see it here: www.flickr.com/photos/el_igore/5107317334/ I don't know if this will be changed in the commercial version.

Here you go: http://www.flickr.com/photos/el_igore/sets/72157625223227032/with/5107502500/ The game was a prototype worth $300 because the monster figs were made of resin. This will be changed to normal figure plastic in the commercial version. It looks like the AH monster tokens will fit into the slots of the bases, but the holes at the topside won't correspond with the layout of the AH tokens. I saw a puzzle in which the investigators had to assemble a map or document from 8 cardboard pieces. They had to follow some rules how they could swap pieces. The + shaped piece on one of the photos looks like a part of a puzzle too. All in all it looked like a really fun game! Can't wait to get it! Sadly the demonstrator said the release date was again postponed to February.

Do we know anything about the rules/mechanics yet?

Fingolfin80 said: Still I can't figure out wich kind of game is this. Is it a dungeon crawler? O something more like Android? Description is quite criptic to me. I am a great fan of Arkham Horror, and I'm really interested in this game, but all I can understand at the moment is that graphics looks great. And thats not a news, FFG games are always graphically cured. I would describe it as adventure game. The investigators explore the mansion, search for clues, find new items, solve puzzles, fight the occasional monster and generally try to hinder the keeper at whichever evil plan he is up to.
