Force Awakens came out 3 years ago and I still don't have a mini Kylo Ren to play with.

It’s pretty bad. The troopers aren’t just taller, they’re “bigger.”  The scale is clearly wrong.

Marshallmanna reacted to AeroEng42 in Anyone else disappointed with Chirrut's game text?
I hope that's their answer!!I know, that's my point. Most of my complaint with Chirrut is thematic in nature. The villains players have a card that let's them put Force abilities on clearly non-Force sensitive characters. The heroes players have Force Training which is not restricted to Force-sensitive characters. Meanwhile, Chirrut, the only clearly Force-sensitive (though non-Jedi) character in Rogue One cannot have Blue Abilities. Furthermore, because Force Training is an ability upgrade, he can't have that either even though Jyn, Finn, Ackbar, basically all other heroes regardless of canonical Force-sensitivity, can.Granted we haven't seen the whole set, but I really hope that means heroes players get some kind of card that let's us put Force abilities on anyone (or at least Chirrut). If not a Jedi Holocron, maybe a Kyber Necklace?

Cunning is the card needed for eFinn and Poe.
It is a really strong card, but generally you want a character that you can use it on, anything else is a bonus.

Marshallmanna got a reaction from n815e in Do you think they can realistically release expansions for this
They can make as many expansions as they want. I'm not buying them.  This game is star wars, empire strikes back, and return of the jedi,   in a box.  If the make the phantom menace, attack of the clones, and revenge of the sith,   in a box, I will buy that. '

One thing I would like to see is an alternate art Leia Organa, Jedi knight.  Just in case yoda trains her. Also a dark version of luke and leia if the emperor were to turn them to the darkside. Of course that is my own wish. I am not sure how you would stat a jedi knight leia but it is cool.

And I'm very sure your camp is wrong.

    Why?

Because if your camp's interpretation is correct, it means that the optimal Imperial player strategy should be: blow up Dagobah as soon as possible.

It doesn't matter whether the Rebel Base is or isn't there. What matters is preventing the Seek Yoda mission.

The effects of this are pretty clear: if the Seek Yoda mission cannot be resolved, the Rebel player:
does not gain the 1 re-roll per round ability (Seek Yoda) never gets a 3/3 Leader with 5 Mission Icons (Luke Skywalker (Jedi)) can never eliminate Palpatine and Vader (Return of the Jedi) has one less 2-point source (Return of the Jedi) ... and so it is in the best interest of the Imperial player to blow up Dagobah regardless of whatever the Rebel player does.

As a consequence, you end up with a situation where the Rebel player's optimal counter-strategy is completely ignoring Dagobah's existence and never recruiting Luke.

Is that really the kind of Star Wars game you want?

The system still exists.  System specific missions can still be executed in the system.

There are very specific effects of having a destroyed system as listed on page 7 of the Rules Reference.  No ground battles.  No ground units above the current carrying capacity of the ships in the system.  No loyalty or subjugation (therefore no building or deploying units there).

If a card's effects violate those specific effects they cannot occur but otherwise they can.

    Example:

'Seek Yoda' -- Attach a Master Yoda ring to the leader and, if Luke resolves this mission, make him Jedi Luke.

There is nothing that is forbidden by the destroyed system effects.  Yoda can still be there.  He could have gotten on a ship, for example (he had to get there somehow).

'Support of Mon Calamari' -- Gain two loyalty or place 1 MCC on the build queue.

Obviously you can't gain loyalty since this is specifically disallowed.  But you can gain a Cruiser -- it could have been in space at the time of destruction just like other ships in play that would survive 'Superlaser Online'.

'Wookie Uprising' -- Gain 1 loyalty and destroy 4-health worth of units in the system.

Again, no loyalty gained because that is specifically denied by the Destroyed System effects but there could be Wookies hanging around in their freighters or space stations and what-not that end up boarding Imperial ships and destroying the ground units on those ships or the ships themselves.

Aside from the Loyalty gains there is nothing to suggest things don't survive in the system enough to make at least some of the effects possible.

I feel bad that you think you need to wait to purchase the game.  The rules are not an issue, what so ever....No issue at all.  The rules are easy to grasp and 99% just make since.  All I need to know is if destroyed systems can have missions that name that system done in them.  That's all I need.  And there is nothing in rulebook that says that you cant do it.  So it may not even be an issue. Rowdy what is your take on this rule question.

Marshallmanna reacted to Jobu in Need a cheat sheet map for Imperial player
I have mixed feelings on the system tracker idea (and I am horrible with memory games).

Part of me feels there is a lot to track for the Imperials and I hate having to keep everything in my head, plus having to sort through your hand when you forget slows things down.  On the other hand, part of the game appears to be juggling all that information in your head.

I just want to add in general, if you are advocating for something, avoid using the word "cheat" in the name.

BadAsh1, Most of your issues are covered in the rules, I suggest you read them again.

You are conflating "Activating A System" with "Combat".  You can "Activate a System" without initiating "Combat" (no enemy units).  You can also have "Combat" without "Activating a System" (Missions or Action cards)

"On the flipside, if Han had done his ground strike on a planet that had 2 Storm Troopers and 2 TIE fighters and he won, how does it make sense that this planet is still Empire-loyal and the TIE fighters get to stay in orbit?  It should at LEAST be neutral-subjugated, which drops down how much build that planet is worth during the Refresh phase."
You need to read the Build portion of the rules, in the above scenario (Empire Loyal, Rebel Troops on the ground, Imperials in the air), the planet would not build anything and the empire couldn't deploy any units to it (identical to being Sabotaged).

The rest of your issues seem to be tied to not being able to come up with explanations for the abstractions in the game and/or allowing them to bother you.

    For example:
"How does it make sense that space combat goes first (ok), but you can LOSE space combat and still land troops for ground combat?  If my defending space forces destroyed the enemy, how did they get to land those troops???"
Answer: The star destroyer came in on the far side of the planet, launched shuttles with the ground troops on them and then proceeded to engage the enemy fleet.  (there are any number of explanations)

    or

"Thematically, I have a problem with #2.  It was supposed to be a "strike force".  We've already ignored transport-wise how those units got there, so how does the Empire get to magically react to this at all and send in a leader to support???"
Answer: That Imperial leader was already there, the rebels just did not know it.  In any game, you do not need to interpret the resolution of effects in the same order in which they are resolved in game.  (like if I as the active player destroys a star destroyer, why does it get to fire back?  Its been destroyed.)

There is no need to change any movement rules. I have yet to lose as the empire.  I just focus on building and moving fleets and always keep 3 big fleets spread out on the board.

Just wondering what people would think of having an injured version of the heroes for the campaign.  Obviously its usually a way for the imperials to win by injuring all heroes.  Hero becomes injured, you replace miniature with its injured version.. I personally would realy like that.
