The flaviour text in the scenario in the core Deathwatch rules seems to imply that a such tramsit would ne fatal to non-Astartes, but is that really the case? I suppose...with the correct protection, yes.... (but the pod are used to put armored space marines in the heart of the enemy, i think that a normal soldier won't survive along to do nothing)
  2. now I'm trying to see from a space marine eyes.... I have a monastic life.... When I'm not in my chamber to prey, I'm in combat exercise... too often I see the Horror of war and chaos...i risk madness to preserve my soul and my mind from the horror that i see....I pray again with the chaplain I can die everitime... my life was war and carnage...i fight the chaos GODS....not the puppets, the GODS My oath was to defend the human, but now I'm super Human... I have also the black carapace, bone fused etc... I suffer from terrible wound... etc.... Yes that girl was very beatifull, but now i see her like my little sister, I must stand and protect her!
  3. I remember that I read somewhere that the space marine was sterile....(but yes i suppose they can do sex and also fall to slanesh temptation). This limitation, I suppose was introduced for avoid that the SM become a race apart from humanity...(I see much danger in this) For your question: "why the SM don't send an initiate to reproduce?" To be Choosen for a chapter you must be one of the best warrior of an entire planet, but also you must have an iron will, courage, intelligence etc... If I was Ragnar Blackmane of the Wolf, I'm not shure that my son was an incredible warrior, whit an Iron Will, etc... hope this help...
  4. i suggest the use of a roleplaying scene.... the armor of the player was too badly damaged... with great honour and pride the marine came back to the chapter for the cerimony of the new armor.... or after nearly killing injuries and during the period of healing, the master of the forge have repaired, and retailored your armor.... or decide if the armor come from the chapter or from the vault........ or ... or ... or ...endless ideas
  5. I want to start to better differentiate the chapters backgroundsskill alents... I know better the space wolf chapter, so i decided to give free to my space wolf: 1) pilot personal (all space marine was first a blood claw, then a grey hunter and at last a long fang....the blood claw was trained in the use of the jump pack...so i give free) 2) survival (fenris was an harsh world, and fenrisian live like barbarian, viking, islander...etc...) 3) resistance cold (fenris was an ice word) if the player like, i give free also a chainsword. I want also to create stat for many of the beatiful axe they produce. I don't know very well the other chapters...suggestion? (ho, sorry for my english)

Just to nit pick a little, she was never a marine. Just a stupid human who got possessed by a daemon bound suit of armor, effectively turning her into an unbound deamon host in a chaos champions armor, never a female marine. Storm of Iron was the books title in the U.S., not sure what it was elsewhere. Ho thanks fot the clarification.... in Italy it was "tempesta d'acciaio"... cheers
  7. i read of only one female marine... in metal storm novel, the armor of a chaos champion, rejected the actual host and choose a female host..... she was consumed by the armor.......and became a champion....with the older champion name! female loyalty space marine??? heresy... (i suppose the really problem was linked to chromosome). no way to become a sister of battle? if she was a power armor, give her a power armor...... if she insisted, let her choose by a chapter...let her try to mutate to a space marine....let her die to complication in the zygote implantation... otherwise change the rule....it's your game....it's your funny time.....
  8. I hope to see wolf priest... more customized weapons and armor for wolf chapter... more trapping.... the wolf guard... more more more...usefull material....
  9. "...in the end I see the truth... ...one man want to become a good..." from the Horus meditation...
  10. if this happen on Fenris... and if she is strong enough to serve, she can become a serf....maybe a pilot or a captain of vessel.....a gunner...... but not space marine.....
  11. demeanor...... if you are studious, you'are tempted to save the corrupted item in or order to use against the chaos.....or something else.... if you are pious......destroy...... and so on...... much depend also of wich type of relic..... the finger of some unknow saint......destroy immediately the left pauldron of Russ? mmmmm....interesting decision to do...you will destroy because is tainted or save because is from Russ???? many many many rpg....... if you find a corrupted item from the Emperor? if the Emperor let it corrupt because in that way HE save billions??? and what appen once you destroy it???? many many rpg....
  12. don't forget that not all the cyber replacement are ugly..... look at the eye of brother artemis..... simply do to your marines a new cyb-standard eye, same function as his real eye.....and in the form of human tipe, no metal, cable etc......
  13. I suppose: in the war theatre you can receive only bionic replacement...... when you go home, if you like, you can have a flesh replacement....
  14. hello, in Italian it was translate as: Guarnigione della morte.... in French I suppose: Ganison de la mort.... cheers
  15. i've found in an old book the totem.... it' was a necklace with some rune and tooth.....
  16. looking in the Inquisitor page..... Brother Artemis has: 5 rounds of kraken; 5 of helfire; 5 of Stalker and 5 of "don't remember"...... so, the bolter has the standard curved clip plus 4 magazine. each magazine contain 5 rounds...... if you want to use the 3 magazine, I suppose the lateral magazine was put in a "T" mode with central extractor......
  17. what do you think is the space wolf totem??? it' was the banner put on the backpack? or ti was some sort of amulet?
  18. none as a standard... but it's a good roleplaing point. give some squad the pitch recorder......
  19. ho, I've only the corvus helmet on my mark7.....and sounds good, also in style
  20. I do a tactical marine and see that BS cost 750.....
  21. hi, the characteristic advance cost the same for all....
  22. first of all...good job... corvus armor has only one history (nor 2?) i want to remove my jumppack.....in wich way? if i take it from the equipment....the checkbox was ok but now I have two jump pack???
  23. Ariolan said: OK, a wee bit late, but anyway: the basic "extraction" scenario from the DW rulebook. It's a fair start. The underlying "time runs out" idea is clever, but it requires too big a suspension of disbelief. No matter where you are, cosmically speaking, flying to a planet, touching down and finding the Magos - in five hours - is impossible. NOTE: In approximately five hours, the main Tyranid swarm will reach the area The whole idea of getting a transmission, sending a team away to another planet in another solar system to rescue someone who is hours away from getting killed is simply pointless. NOTE: you have five hours from when you touching ground The whole idea that a planet is literally overrun in a matter of hours, even days or weeks or months, by a creature that will attack on foot (or even motorized) is ridiculous given the sheer scale of a planet. Getting anywhere takes a couple of thousand miles, meaning days even if you run at 100 miles an hour. NOTE: the swarm reach the pyroclast area not overrun the planet in five hours I guess what I wanted to say: the time element is where my suspension of disbelief will fail me, and I know my players (who like to play through space travel) will give me the eye when I explain to them the hours-long deadline. A reasonable orbit above a planet is 36.000 km above sea-level (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geostationary_orbit). Page 170 of "RoB" states a drop-pod makes up to 12.000 km per hour. Travelling to the planet (provided top velocity is reached instantaneously) will take the players 3 of their five hours. I know DW is not Traveller and one shouldn't be to anal about the whole space-data side of it, but the transgalactic resuce mission with only hours to spare - man ! Of course, an outcome could be that the situation evolved to a point where mere hours are left, but that still leaves the problem of extraction - from the time the players call the Thunderhawk that they are ready to be extracted, the ETA will (p183 RoB), ahem, 18 hours if one assumes cruising speed of 2.000 km per hour (travelling from Orbit). Anyway, probably best not to think too deeply about this one and just make do, but what I was wondering, did any of guys fall over this at all (or your players) in actual play ?
