I just got a response back from Damon and he said he had received only one other inquiry about it, this week. There may have been some sort of glitch to prevent him from getting previous emails, or maybe they went to James instead. This is what I got - "Thank you for the courteous email. Yes I was previously aware of the need for a FAQ addressing Rich Widow. I received 1 other email about this, a couple f days ago, but it has been on my radar for a few weeks now. Her text should read, "Response: After a character leaves play, put Rich Widow into play from your hand." A FAQ for upcoming Regionals should be coming out before the end of the month. Thank you again for the email. Damon Stone Associate LCG Designer Fantasy Flight Games" So I guess we can expect one in a couple of weeks. FYI I replied back that a printer friendly version would be extra appreciated. Lets see what happens with that.

Gualdo said: add fan cards (we are already working on this and I'm creating the first Spanish CP > they are great and created great cards) I don't know what FFG's position is on things like this, but I'd caution you to be careful about implementing this. The artwork for those cards would need to be under some sort of fair use license, and using FFG's templates and icons etc, could be problematic from a legal perspective. I'm no IP lawyer, so I wouldn't take my word on it, but you may want to consult someone who is, or alternately check in with FFG and run it by them. I'd hate to see the cite get into trouble.

I'll bet you they won't. There is only so much you can put out in a 20 card pack. I would extremely surprised if they put more than eight in the game as playable races.

I knew the domain bit (which is why I didn't specifically mention that one), and the car part was me being facetious, but yes I agree that it needs errata for clarification.

All non-neutral cards will have a faction different from it so it would get +2 for each card with any actual faction.

Magnus Arcanis said: Not that this is necessarily a bad way to patch things up, but since it's so specific and conflicts with other rulings (mainly Twilight Gate, or at least how I've been interepting the Twilight Gate ruling) I believe it is FAQ worthy. Main reason being that we have nothing concrete, on paper, to back up this ruling. Player instinct got us this far, but it is a matter of time before someone gets them confused and the odds of them reading your post giving us the ruling is slim. What Twilight Gate ruling? How does it conflict?

FFG doesn't monitor or respond to forum posts, but at the bottom of the page there is a link to rules questions. I've gotten pretty quick results (the longest was two days, the shortest about ten minutes) when I've used it.

Good guideline, never consider the effect of the card and exclude what kind of effect it is and when and how it can be used. The timing trigger is first for a reason, yeah? It all becomes much easier that way.

I think the clarification in no way interacts with the existing rule. The card was wounded. It is going to die if it is made insane. The discarding of tokens when the card goes insane does not get around the destruction of the card because it was wounded when it was driven insane. The wording could have been more explicit about the timing but I suspect the answer was provided in a fashion that answered the question asked. If you want a more thorough answer which takes into account other variables you need to ask a more general question. "When a card goes insane and it has success or wound tokens on it what happens?" I suspect that would get you an answer that dealt with the timing issue and the interaction between the two rules.

Technically the card does say to put into play, an effect which can only ever work on a card in an out of play state, so there is a very solid argument that the card is specificying that it can be used from out of play. The rules do not require it to state which out of play state it works in. Of course all of that is splitting hairs. Without that text this card could literally be triggered from anywhere, my hand, my discard pile, my deck, my box of spare cards out in my car. It needs an errata. Has this been submitted via the rules question link?

The Core Set and Defenders of the North cycle is the way to go if you really want to make a Night's Watch deck. Other packs and expansions may give you some specific things you are going to want after you are more familiar with the game.

A Blast from the Past - 2 Champs and a Chump Ep10

Does FFG have a customer service/care email address? IF so we could probably send emails to it asking for a design journal once every month or two. -
It wasn't and you haven't proven anything. You've stated your opinion, one which many people disagree with on different levels. I didn't read anything into what you wrote, I looked at your wording choice. If you meant to be sarcastic rather than personally insulting to the designers and developers you failed. Personally I try to live by my own variation of the Google Creed. Don't be a ******. That means not insulting people behind their backs. Not ranting in a public forum for people to be fired because of mistakes that every single game company in existence makes. Let me pose it to you this way. Have you written these words in this exact form to Nate and Damon? If you ran across them at Gencon would you go up to them in person and say these things? There is probably some policy that prevents response (not to mention it ultimately not deserving one) but insulting people who are unable to defend themselves is, well... pretty low. You could have said everything that needed saying without personally insulting the people who are responsible for the game we all love. That is where you crossed the line in my eyes from being sarcastic to just being mean.

So frakken excited! If the publishers have a firm date for when the book is available that pretty much means he is working on editing the book, finishing up on the last section of a rewrite. The book in its structural form is done and he is putting on the finishing touches. It really would take something life altering and beyond their control for them to miss that date. Notice it says the book will be in stores on that date. That means they've already confirmed shipping and printing. Something that is still in the first draft does not get that.

I'm going to say this clearly, your comments didn't come across as saracasm to me, or helpful, they came across as mean, uninformed, and entitled. You can discuss how much you dislike a card, but as ktom said, when you start calling on people to be fired or disparaging the entire team at FFG because you don't agree about a card, you've crossed the line from being funny and constructive to being a nuisance. I remember people asking for neutral draw. I remember people complaining about Valar. The fact that people are now upset that they got what a another group of players asked for, is pretty much a sure sign that even if you and Fatmouse were in charge of R&D that there would be just as many people complaining about what you were doing and the way you were doing it. You can't please all the people all the time. Everyone makes mistakes. These are truisms. You can either accept them, live a happy life, and be helpful and moderate in tone when things you see as problems arise, or you can go the route you are currently on. Or anything in between, but guess which end of the spectrum is more likely to get you written off by a number the players here? Guess which one is likely to convince FFG that you aren't some obsessed fanboi, but a conscientious and well meaning-player who should be taken seriously?

I think it will make a real splash at first, but as players start to realize that they can freely exploit one challenge for an entire game and start building (if they are not already) decks with that in mind. A rush deck that does double power challenges is very nice, but one which has the versatility to hit an opponent in whichever challenge they are the weakest is every turn is potentially better.
-
I think that is more or less the point. You get to choose which ever will help you or hurt them the most. I kind a like it. Going to take some thinking on how best to use it.
-
That character is knelt so it would be an example of the required state that you can respond to.
-
I would say Joust is both making the right play and taking advantage of opportunity, while Melee is making the right play and making opportunities.
-
Of course ending up with multiple copies of the same unique card in your dead pile is certainly not a regular occurrence.

With the announcement of the Secrets of Oldtown I think. I guess we'll get another one whenever they officially announce Queen of Dragons. -
