  1. I got a response from Brenna too:

    "Hello!

Thank you for your inquiry! The dial in the conversion kit is correct, the dial in the expansion is incorrect. We are currently working on a reprint of the misprinted dials in the expansion. If you would like a replacement, please place a request at parts.asmodeena.com. We do not currently have the reprinted dials in stock and are working with our overseas partners to have them reprinted correctly as soon as possible. Due to this, your request will be put "on hold" which means we will ship the replacements as soon as we have them in stock at no cost to you.

Please contact us again if you have further questions!

    Thank you!"

  2. Interestingly, if the imaginary line between the attacking Leader's base and the Airspeeder's base crosses an AT-RT's base, the Airspeeder would get light cover regardless of line of sight:

"If the obscured minis are obscured by a ground vehicle,
    that unit has light cover"

A mini is obscured simply if the line crosses a base or piece of terrain.

  3. The cover rules require drawing from the centre of the attacking leader to the centre of the defending mini to check if the defender is obscured. It then goes on to say if the defender is obscured then it has cover. The type of cover it has is then determine by the terrain:

"If the obscured minis are obscured by a barricade, and
the defender is a trooper unit, that unit has heavy cover.
» If the obscured minis are obscured by custom terrain,
that unit has the cover that the custom terrain provides."

This means for the Airspeeder we would have to use the custom terrain rules, which state:

"As a general rule, terrain that blocks
line of sight to half or more of a mini provides cover."

The line of sight rules say that the base is include as part of the mini.

Therefore half of the actual plastic Airspeeder mini (which does include the base) would have to be behind the cover when checking line of sight for a benefit to be gained. I'd argue that the base and the majority of the stem would not be sufficient to be half of the volume of the mini, but I suppose this would come down to individual players and discussions with their opponents.

Think I should take a break from looking on these forums daily. its becoming too painful to see that everyone else is getting their hands on it, when the UK distributor has just pushed the date back to the 27th :(

    Help me obi wan…

And somebody else spotted the game in Sweden. Let the hate flow through you..

It's enough to turn me over to the Dark Side!

  5.  I'm working on getting all my storage solutions for the game ready before my pre-order arrives. I'd appreciate it greatly if someone who already ones the game could tell me the precise width and length (although they seem square) in millimeters of the tokens that go on the bases?

I'm thinking of making a little cuboid shape box to put them in and I could have dividers to split the appropriate ship types up.

  6. I play in a lot of tournaments for the Games Workshop systems. While 40K and Warhammer don't suffer from this issue, GW's LOTR system sets good vs evil and in my opinion the game becomes more unbalanced with blue on blue games (much like the agility issue with TIEs in this game).

The way red on blue tournaments work for GWs LOTR is that each player takes one good force and one evil. The first, third and fifth rounds are random roll offs to see who uses which force, but in round two, four and six you use the force you didn't use in the last round. That way you get a balance number of games.

You get a score for each game. Say you used good in the first. You would then be paired up with a player that played evil in the last round so that you can swap sides. The organisers try and make it so you are paired with someone with a similar score.

This system would work for X-Wing and I for one hope tournaments would be run like this (I also hope we get one in the UK).

"An Action on an encounter card in play can be triggered by any player, following normal restrictions on triggering abilities." (KD rules sheet)

I think this means that any player can exhaust a hero to remove a Wrapped from any (other) player's hero.

I was thinking in the same way as the post before, with no one controlling the card.

I never even saw this on the Khazad Dum sheet! Thanks fellow players!

  8. Hi guys,

I'm currently working on my own investigator based on myself to use in my games.

The idea is that the character is a teacher (like myself). I would just like to know if this ability seems fair:

    Teachings

Movement: If <name> ends his movement in the same area as another investigator who has fewer clue tokens than <him/her>, that investigator gains 2 clue tokens.

Does this seem balanced? At first I was thinking about the other investigator gaining clue tokens so that the teacher and the other investigator then had the same amount, but that seemed a bit overpowered so I settled with 2.

Also, does the wording seem ok? And could you suggest something to go with this like an item he could start with or another ability?

    Thanks guys.

By the way: what's the situation in Moria at this time ?

In the time between the Hobbit and Bilbo's Party, Balin (Gimli's cousin, was one of the Dwarves who went to the Lonely Mountain with Thorin Oakenshield) went on the quest to reclaim Moria for the Dwarves. However all was in Vain and Balin was killed, the rest of the Dwarves were destroyed. They awoke the Balrog (which hopefully hints that a Balrog could be in this game), and the aftermath was seen in The Fellowship of the Ring. The Fellowship entered Balin's Tomb!
