    Droid bug or feature?

Thank you Xyphistor, I believe that's my situation. The application seems to have saved outside of me traveling to town. Now, if I load the town instead of traveling to the next quest, it presents new sets of items to purchase. The designers may want to add another "save" event invoked to party's save instance once the town displays a new set of items so people cannot cheese the merchants.

    Droid bug or feature?

I finished playing Kindred Fire last night and closed out the app while in town. I glanced at the items I could purchase after finishing a quest, and decided to reload the app today to take a closer look at them. When the app loaded today I noticed the items in town were different. I closed out of the campaign and loaded the same save again. The same thing happened...a new set of items were available for selection. Is this a bug or "feature"?

    The Future of Descent?

I would like to see FFG create a similar off shoot, using the existing 2nd edition product, like "Skirmish" in Imperial Assault. They could easily create a package that updates all the existing figures with appropriate point totals etc, for each unit/hero, and in future sets begin to include those. I really enjoy the skirmish offering Imperial Assault has. Descent could really break out with a similar product, essentially bringing it to the tournament scene. Cursain

    Best Scout

I have to say the new "Arvel Worldwalker" has a strong heroic that makes her HIGHLY versatile. "Use on your turn. Return up to 2 of your Class cards to your Class deck. Then, gain any number of Class cards from your Class deck worth an equal amount of XP." http://descent2e.wikia.com/wiki/Arvel_Worldwalker

    New Hybrid Classes.

i don't like the idea of a Knowledge 5 (e.g Leoric) Mage with "By the book" (Marshal). An Overlord 'without cards' is absolutly no fun. That's why you might want to consider taking the plot deck of Kyndrithul to help counter that obnoxiousness.
  6. I found a very effective solution with a legal box, several boxes from the Michael's Arts and Crafts to fit my cards perfectly, and some basic totes to hold my figures. I'm in the process of painting the figures now, and have added vent magnets to (http://tinyurl.com/hs44f87)the bottom of each model so they don't shift inside the tote. Simply glue the model to the magnet using superglue, and cut it out. The tote has a thin piece of sheet metal bolted down to the bottom. I find it a lot easier to find models this way when playing the game, and is far less expensive than buying the Battle Foam. I originally thought of designing a similar setup like JTSleep's (which is cool as hell) but I'm worried about the collection outgrowing my design. https://www.dropbox.com/s/9q4sep7f7zhdjfs/20160421_184037.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/th7iz2rcw4l58te/20160421_183939.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/4uk2xqdnwn126dx/20160421_184029.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/w6tyky2hya9qy2y/20160421_180054.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/m0059v5d2oq6uea/20160421_180112.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/0u9gvymexwgee9d/20160421_180040.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/0yflrf2n631kgcv/20160421_180031.jpg?dl=0

  8. I think this might be the most important aspect of the skirmish design. Not asking for your spreadsheet Volkren, but after you built it and considered statistics/abilities/attack dice, did you find the various monster groups were balanced? Striking an accurate and justified balance with the monster groups, classes and heroes has to be the first step imo. Cursain
  9. Email sent to FFG staff: Hi Kara. Another post was made on the 2nd edition Descent forums. People are curious if FFG is going to provide a more detailed and thorough FAQ, similar to what X-Wing has received. https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/218274-it-is-once-again-time-to-beat-the-dead-horse/ Thank you Cursain From: kcentelldunk@fantasyflightgames.com To: Subject: Re: Fantasy Flight Games [Rules Questions] - Descent: Journeys in the Dark Second Edition: 2016-01-26 12:37:56 Date: Fri, 29 Jan 2016 17:47:50 +0000 Hey Cursain, Thank you for bringing this to our attention. I wanted to let you know that we’re looking into the community’s concerns with the FAQ and are discussing our next steps. Thanks for your patience, Kara Centell-Dunk Game Developer Fantasy Flight Games On Jan 26, 2016, at 12:37 PM, no-reply@fantasyflightgames.com wrote: Message from: Cursain E-mail: Rules Question: Good afternoon FFG team, This question/concern has to do with the quality and maintenance of the FAQ for Descent 2nd Edition. There currently is a thread on the community page where certain members are expressing frustration with the quality and maintenance of Descent's FAQ vs. X-Wing's. https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/199959-errata-16/ It's not healthy for the community when customers are expressing their frustrations like this. In X-Wing's you'll find many questions answered concerning specific situations and questions answered from FFG to its customers. X-Wing's FAQ is 16 pages currently. Descent's is 10, but many of the FAQ questions FFG have answered are not added to the FAQ. Descent's fans have compiled a list of submitted questions and maintaining them on a 3rd party site. This doesn't make the answers official. Can we have the FAQ updated to reflect what the community has gathered below? I'm confident FFG has record of every questions submitted since the inception of the game. https://boardgamegeek.com/wiki/page/Descent_Second_Edition_Unofficial_FAQ Thank you, -Wade Bergman Currently the owner of every Descent 2nd Edition item for sale.
  10. I agree. Immobilize and Stun are my favorite conditions as an OL.
  11. Out of curiosity what are some examples? Want to know if I should house rule alternating turns or not. Try effectively setting up your monsters with swarm, or fire breath.Opening quest of LoR would be more difficult for OL since it would be a lot more challenging to move the goblin carrying the lady. Using knock back to move a hero next to another hero so you could get an effective blast with another monster group....etc. Tracking reinforcements since you could have 8 or more activations before reinforcements arrive. Just to name a few.

    Question on Skirmisher Combo

The two plot decks above can be found below: Ardus Ix'Erebus's Defensive Position could be nasty to deal with if used at a choke point. https://www.dropbox.com/s/gsuti2u63o67dhk/026.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/j681riunmd7wars/027.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ve1hwss5g44tlj3/029.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/sk7p3xi5zuqxvbu/028.jpg?dl=0

    Question on Skirmisher Combo

When heroes go for combo's like this, it's important for the OL to bring the right tools to the game. Kyndrithul's or Ardus Ix'Erebus plot deck could grind that combo to a screeching halt. There are probably other plot decks that would help, but these would work perfectly.
  14. This is why the Runemaster is huge, too. A reliable Blast+2❤ that refunds the 2♩ (<-can I use that as fatigue?) is too good to not take. Unless you brought a Barbarian, the class just provides too much crowd-control. It is also why the Apothecary is heavy. I'd say the Conjurer is a bit stronger using Prismatic Assault and can do far more with the various skills that have continual effects. In the current campaign we have Astarra as the Conjurer, and a Bard running around. The only thing I need to be concerned with is staying within three spaces of the bard. The fact I can leave image tokens all over the board, as well as easily place them where I want with Refraction, we're throwing tons of damage around. It's at the point where we're feeling bad for the OL.
  15. In our current campaign we have Aurim as a Bard. He's a powerhouse. Not only do stamina and healing potions go into OP mode when he uses them, he gets one free search card per encounter. Being a Bard, he can heal 2 health and 2 stamina every round (later in the campaign) and heal one additional person for 2 more with concentration. All the stamina regeneration is what can power any group of heroes, to stardom. -Cursain
