  1. Really nice work - well done! I'd certainly be interested in them. If you do decide to offer them as an finished miniature (rather than print your own), please post a link and/or keep us all informed.
  2. Absolutely love watching his games of Talisman! His commentary is fantastic. Some people think you'd have to be a real nerd to play Talisman by yourself. Others think you'd have to be a bigger nerd to actually film yourself playing Talisman. My wife thinks I must be the biggest nerd of all for sitting and watching someone else film themselves playing Talisman. Long live the Lonesome Gamer.
  3. For the very reason you stated. He was waiting for someone to gain the 2 points.
  4. Merchant Character states: You may trade with a character that you land on by exchanging any one Object of yours for one of theirs (including Magic Objects). If he lands on another character and declares he is "trading" with another character who has the Rod of Ruin, can that player decide he is going to use the Rod of Ruin before he has to trade the Rod of Ruin with the Merchant?
  5. Not that Jon needs anyone rushing to his defence. Or defense... After playing Second Edition most of my life, TalismanIsland was responsible for me discovering the Revised 4th Edition some years back. It has a wealth of information and resources for anyone who loves this game, and if you are reading this then you are probably one of them. (My goodness, he even has the ZX Spectrum on there!) Loads of inspiration too, for anyone who is pondering a character, card or expansion design of their own and the fact that he is willing to host other people's designs online to share with the world is just marvelous. One can spend days on Talismanisland and still not see everything it has to offer. The Talisman community is a far richer place because of it. I think I'll pass on the solitaire though.
  6. For the record I don't like the Dragon Expansion, but....I think this is marvelous, creative and, more than anything, probably a whole heap of fun!!! Well done
  7. Painting your miniatures really does add something to the game. It feels complete and gives the characters life. The only problem of course is that new expansion keep coming out! It's hard to keep up with that, but work at your own pace and enjoy the process. Good on you for going for it! You also may want to take a look at the characters and pick some really simple ones to start with. Toads, Death and Werewolf jump to mind.
  8. A little debate perhaps you'd like to chime in on. From the City Expansion the Pet Whiskers states: "Whenever you encounter a space with instructions to draw 1 or more Adventure Cards, you may draw 1 extra Adventure card and place it in that space". Does the person drawing the extra card get to encounter the card, or does he (or she) simply place it in his (or her) space for the next lucky (or unlucky) character to encounter?
  9. There's an old saying..."the sooner, the better". Therefore, I, for one, am hoping FRP
  10. Update from Amazon: This item will be released on July 24, 2015. http://www.amazon.com/Talisman-Harbinger-Expansion-Board-Game/dp/1633441237 FRP still has it as July 21st (tomorrow!) http://www.frpgames.com/cart.php?m=product_detail&p=111534#.Va19arej0yY
  11. We have a game scheduled for Sunday. Was actually hoping to get the Harbinger in time for it, but alas that will not be happening Still, a Sunday with Talisman is better than a Sunday without!
  12. Well that is hopeful as I have preordered from FRP games before and they were correct on their date within a few days...
  13. Amazon has it up as: In stock on October 30, 2015.
