Brother Bart got a reaction from angelman2 in cards vs miniature minion groups #s
Thanks for the advice everyone.
On that note, how many Jawa Scavengers should I grab? Will any of the campaign missions require, or allow more than one at a time?

Brother Bart reacted to a1bert in cards vs miniature minion groups #s
The campaign allows both deployment cards, i.e. two packs worth of figures, but no mission requires both.
I love the Jawa Scavenger. The difference to Jawa Scavenger is just 1 threat, so there are very few cases when I would take the regular at all.
For campaign one of each pack is generally enough.

Brother Bart got a reaction from HighSintellect in Basing indecision...and FFG AH FB fan group recommendations.
Hey all, I’m looking for the best/most active FB fan/discussion groups for the various Arkham Horror files games. Does anyone have any recommendations?
I’d like one that is for fans of all the FFG AH games, but failing that...specifically for Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition, Arkham Horror LCG, and Arkham horror 3rd Edition.
im having a REALLY hard time (First world problems, I know) deciding whether to base my figures on the giant black square bases that come with MoM, or on clear acrylic rounds...I’m sure this has been discussed countless times, but I’m looking for as much input and as many opinions as possible to help me decide. I plan to use the figures from MoM in other AH games, maybe even the LCG if they match up the figures released to the available investigators in the game.

Oops, replied to another post with this list, but this post seems more apropos...
Ideas for more adversary decks...
- Creatures... Spintiri ice hounds, nexu, mynocks, gundarks, dewbacks, banthas, wampas, taun-tauns, rancor, krayt dragons (youth and adult!), etc.
- Something themed for the Force & Destiny line... Force users (light and dark), inquisitors, etc.
- Droids... Battle, assassin, astromech, protocol, medical, etc.

Brother Bart got a reaction from VadersMarchKazoo in Beyond the Rim, thoughts (Obvious spoilers)
Our group is finishing up episode 3 this Thursday.
A few things that I ended up doing a little differently:
ISB got the tracking device on the PCs ship, they didn't think to leave a guard, or scan before departure.
Our Wookie cleaved a Yiyar gang member in two in the cargo bay during the droid kidnapping...and the rest of the PCs managed to drop Yav with stun shots just before Security arrived. Yav's crew grabbed him and dragged him aboard their ship. One rodian rolled a despair, and tripped over the grav sled as the ramp was going up and the Nighflyer blasted out of the station leaving him and IT-3 behind.
PCs rolled well on their jump to Cholganna, so ended up in the nebula cloud, fixed their sensors rather quickly and descended towards the planet to scan for debris. They found the pod fairly quickly, but after hearing the description about how they had to access it, IE no landing next to it, or lowering people down to it, they completely bypassed it. I tried dropping the hint a few times that they still had that as an option and they ended up not ever biting.
They found the Engine section first, landed by the lake and decided to have the mechanic rig a jetbike engine to the boat/skiff. Hilarity ensued. They got to the engine section, were set upon by an arboreal octopus which they dispatched without too much trouble, and proceeded to search the wreckage....there wasn't anything to find here, so after they spent all that time searching, I had them find a small lock box on one of the submerged levels. This was all thought up on the fly, so when they said they were going to pry it open, I quickly came up with 'Republic era data crystals' which I explained were like 5-1/4" floppy disks in a flash memory era, so they (and I) have yet to determine what is on them.
They returned to their ship just in time to see the Yiyar's ship making a high scanning pass over the area. They moved to engage, and got owned. No pilot specs in teh party, and its a base-model yt-1300...that combined with bad rolls, I was forced to have the ship disengage before they shot down the PCs (only 3 Hull Threshold left!). Some more scanning revealed what could be the rest of the ship, which they examined and were of course ambushed by cyber-nexu in the hull. They left IT-3 on the ship with their NPC slicer so I was unsure what to do about the homing beacon.
I ended up having IT-3 activate it anyway, and as soon as the PCs took out the last cyber-nexu, they were comlinked by the slicer telling them they had visitors at their ship....Session ended there.
Next session started up with them meeting Harsol and his backup on the reevos, just as Yav anf his gang landed...right next to their ship. Harsol leads them all to the camp and the negotiations start. The Politico in our group is a charm bot and ended up knocking all of his rolls out of the park. Since Yav and friends did so poorly in the negotiations, I had them attempt to break into Cratala's lab the night before they were all supposed to leave. The Smuggler in the group is the observation bot, but ended up utterly failing the roll to hear the break in form their quarters....but he rolled a triumph....so, I said "You don't hear anything unusual, but you suddenly have the irresistible urge to empty your bowels...the arboreal octopus sushi you had that night just didn't sit right."
So he runs out side, drops trou, and sees some commotion over by the lab. He recognizes the rodians and trandoshans and tosses a stun grenade at their feet. A split second later, a stun grenade rolls in from behind him and bumps into his boot. Hilarity ensues. The wookiee grabbed the trandoshan's head and shock gloved him into unconsciousness. Harsol comes out, they round the rest up and lock them into the Nexu cage.
Just when they are about to leave, guess who rumbles over the camp...yep, the ISB and the Imperial Scout troopers on the Deep Dark. probe droids descend on the masses and aren't too difficult to dispatch, so I have one crawl down the middle of the main gates and self destruct...blowing the gates apart and collapsing one of the guard towers....Speeder bikes arrive and ride right into camp. Wookiee tackles the sgt, knocking him from his bike...they brawl on the ground until the trooper gets a crit on the wookie with a vibro-knife....wookiee already has a crit, and with viscous 2 he rolls severed arm! The troopers are eventually pacified and the wookiee is stabilized. Session ends there.
Will add the rest in an edit...this is taking a while to write

Brother Bart got a reaction from dr00 in System Breach 2 player mat
I know I'm 'Rezing' an older thread here...but I got mine on thewarstore.com. It's only a couple of bucks cheaper than retail there, and you have to pay shipping, but if you cant find it elsewhere, it's always an option. Great purchase though, I'm really enjoying using mine.

Brother Bart got a reaction from dukeawesome1 in Order said it would be here within 1-5 business days and here I'm going on my 7th
Hey guys, this is from the Holiday Sale FAQ...
I placed an order on the first day...when all of the servers kept crashing...took me several hours to finally complete the transaction and receive an order number and confirmation...
It sounds like they got a record-breaking response to this years sale, likely due to the fact that there were a multitude of Games Workshop licensed items available at ridiculously low prices. I imagine quite a few people went on to grab this stuff to scalp on eBay later, as these games and the IP are well loved by much of the gaming community...and will shell out loads of money for them when they are no longer available at retail.
I still haven't received a shipping notification or tracking number either, and actually came in here to the forums to see if the issue was being discussed. And here it is. I wouldn't worry too much about it, if you got an order confirmation and your card was charged, you should be getting the info and your items sooner or later. Id be very surprised if domestic (USA) customers did not receive their shipments well before Christmas.
That being said, I'll keep checking back here to see if anyone posts an update to the situation.

Brother Bart got a reaction from Noelyuk in New WFRP Podcast Goes Live!!!
Really enjoying the podcast Noely! (This is Dave, btw) Haven't got through Ep 17 yet, but will do in the next day or so. I'm liking the new smuggler so far, and missed Davey in the last episode.
I just got one of my players to start listening, and so far he really digs it too.
We just finished Eye for an Eye, and had all but one of the players on Fantasy Grounds...two of them remotely. We are rolling right into Edge of Night next session, so I'm busy setting up the campaign in FG for that.
I can't wait to see where your guys go next.

I've been listening to your podcast and am really enjoying it. Lots of great role-playing, especially Gustav and Smof.
I haven't grabbed FG yet, though Ive seen it, it looks great. I have yet to actually play an RPG on-line, mostly because I've been fortunate enough to have a regular local group. We are currently playing FFGs Star Wars RPG, but are gearing up to start WFRP 3rd when my campaign winds down.
What time on Friday is your session Pacific time in the US? I'd love to join in for a game or two, but with a wife and 3 kids (two of them under 5), game time is hard to get if its before their bed time

I'll be running a game in the next few weeks at about 10:00 GMT, if that's any use to you.

Glad to hear you're enjoying the show Brother Bart. I'm having great fun GMing it and yeah I try to encourage role playing over roll playing. Feel free to leave a comment on the website as well http://theorderofchaosgamers.com (that way the team will be sure to hear your praise ) and/or leave us a review on itunes.
As for our time slot. It's pretty fixed at Friday evenings at around 5pm PST start (which is a 9am Saturday start for myself and Michael who are both based in Hong Kong). Time zones have been a nightmare I'll be honest and have posed almost as much of a threat to the campaign as the slowly encroaching forces of chaos. Keep listening though and you'll hear some other great roleplaying cameos, some of whom unfortunately are no longer still with us, mostly because of time scheduling issues, but luckily the core of Smof, Gustav, Falco, and more recently Badigon who listeners have yet to meet, have remained a constant.
I hear you on the kids front though. I have 2 little nippers of my own. Eldest 22 months and youngest just 4 months. Nothing like a screaming kid to break the immersion of a session. Anyway we're certainly up for the idea of yourself and fellow listeners joining for some one off cameo sessions assuming you get can get a babysitter lol

I think we should all just make a collective effort to ignore The End of Times and treat it like a alternate timeline aneurism caused by someone mixing the ashes of Matt Ward with coke and kerosene and freebasing it.

Brother Bart got a reaction from Noelyuk in Dice App
Ok, what happened to the dice app? I've had it on my iPad/iPhone for years, I went to use it a few months back...and it launches, but as soon as I hit the button to bring up the dice, it just crashes out...I went to try it gain tonight and had the same problem. Then I went to the iTunes App Store and did a search for it so I could either update it or at least see some comments as to what was going on...nothing. It's not there anymore. Where'd it go?

Brother Bart got a reaction from RLogue177 in Where do I start? What do I need?
The only real bummer to all of this is that the line has been discontinued due to GW blowing up the Warhammer World (Arrrrgh!). We wont get newly developed content (like an Elves expansion!) and there are products that are now simply out of print, with no guarantee that they will get re-prints...the Adventurer's Toolkit comes to mind here. The content in that little box was really great, and really went a long way in expanding the options given in the Core box set. I ended up getting at least one of everything they made, including the guides and vaults that came out later...
Now, I did read somewhere that a fan-made Elf expansion for WFRP3rd was made, maybe someone else can provide a link to that content.
I'm currently having loads of fun with the Star Wars RPG, but I fully intend to come back to this game when Star Wars starts to get stale for us.

Brother Bart got a reaction from Noelyuk in Collection complete.
Congrats on finishing the collection! Was there a reprint of the Adventurer's Toolkit?
I think I have everything, but I may be missing one or two of the POD sets...will have to double check. I'm a little OCD...I sleeved every card, large AND small in FFG card sleeves, have all of the tokens and cards organized in a big Stanley organizer (like this one: http://amzn.com/B00005QWYF).
I haven't played an RPG over Skype before, I happen to be one of the lucky ones with players relatively nearby. One suggestion I have (as this has worked for me) is to visit a local game convention (or a game store) and offer to run a game. Other locals come out of the woodwork, and you can recruit for your own regular home games. Local libraries usually have community rooms that you can reserve as well, if no one has the space to accommodate a regular game (or you aren't comfortable enough with new players to invite them into your home). I ran the Edge of the Empire beginner box game at PolyCon two years back and one of the guys that signed up for my game ended up living a couple of towns over and was looking for a regular gaming group. Now he and his 17 yr old son are both in my RPG group, along with a university student and the guy I carpool to work with!
