Has anyone made their own for Star Wars LCG?

I'm using those one found on BGG.  I can easily put my sleeved deck in them.  My objective are sleeved with colored premium sleeves and the rest of the deck is sleeved with Mayday non-premium sleeves.  There's still room in the tuck box, so I'm pretty sure you can fit a deck sleeved only with premium sleeves.

Just be sure to print it at 100%.  I've used Staples printing service for mine, using 100-lb paper.  It's pretty sturdy, been using this for more than a month.

  2. *** I can't post on the Star Wars Deck Forum … so if somebody can move this thread, I would appreciate. Thanks***

    Hi everybody,

Here is my "Space Invasion" DS deck. Practically everything in this deck is a Vehicle or Vehicle related. The basic strategy is to overun your opponent's defence with multiple attack. With only one heavy hitter (Devastator) and it being the only cost 4 or more in this deck, you can unload a lot of fighter unit on the table each turn. The key to this deck is Tallon Roll, when used properly, you can attack 2 times with the same fighter unit on the same objective; really good with TIE Bomber or TIE Attack Squadron unopposed.

The really funny thing about this deck is when you play it against a Jedi Deck; the look on your opponent's face when he realize that his Jedi Mind Trick can't do squat is priceless!!!

    Sith Affiliation
    2 X Death and Despayre
    2 X Defense Protocol
    2 X Kuat Reinforcements
    2 X The Endor Gambit
    2 X Black Sqdron Assault

As soon as I find a new Space Fighter Objective (with the new expansions) I will replace The Endor Gambit with it. For now I use it primarly for the Aft Armor Plating (Very good) and Target of Opportunity… the other Vehicles are not bad… but they don't match my theme for this deck.

    Have fun… Meaxe out.

  3. In the new video tutorial post, FFG tells us that we'll have the game in two weeks… So something around december 21…  Still 2 weeks to wait, but at least we know when it's going to be out, and we'll have it before christmas.

This is what I remember from the demo videos and reviews. So a game starts off with basically a 14-round limit; when the Death Star Dial reaches 14, the game is over. The Death Star Dial advances at the end of each round (or after the Dark Side player's turn?). But if the Dark Side player has destroyed an objective, the dial increases by two every round thereafter. If you've destroyed two objectives, it advances by three every round. So if a Dark Sider got lucky and destroyed one objective in the first turn and a second objective in the second turn, the Rebels would have only 5 rounds to take out three Dark Side objectives (or meet some other game winning objective like taking over Coruscant or destroying the Death Star). So destroying Rebel objectives could be really important for Dark Side players.

I'm pretty sure you are wrong (no offence).  From my understanding:

    - At the start of the Dark Side player, the dial advance 1 click.

    - If the Dark Side player has the force with him (has won the force struggle), the dial advance 2 clicks at the start of his turn.

    - If the Dark Side player destroy an objective card, the dial advance # clicks where:

      # = first objective destroyed = 1

      # = second objective destroyed = 2

      # = third objective destroyed = 3

      etc…

P.S. I'm not sure about the numbers, it could be more than that, but I'm pretty sure it was explained somewhere (article or video); so if someones remembers the exact numbers that would be great.  And a link to the article or video even greater.

    @ Fbaranow:
There Is a Jedi objective (I forgot the name) that shows Luke's crashed X-wing on Dagobah. That objective lets you choose an objective from your objective deck when it is destroyed. I can see how you might interpret that to mean you don't replace your objective except for that one, but to me, that card is saying that, rather than draw the next objective randomly from your deck, you choose which objective you want to come into play. So I think you do normally replace a destroyed objective.

You are probably right. But in that case how exactly does destroying an objective help the dark side win?

The Death Star dial says Hello!!! (and I'm sure you replace the destroyed objectives at the start of your turn)  Each time you destroy an objective card (if you are the Dark Side player) you advance the Death Star Dial more.  Something along the lines of first objective = one click, second objective = 2 click, third objective = 3 click and so forth.

I agree that it's not going to be your primary objective to destroy (I'm talking about the objective that Budgernaut talk about), but if you can destroy this objective and put the pressure on the light side, all the better.  Even if this pesky Rebel can choose his next objective, you still advanced the Death Star dial a couple of click or more (I don't know the exact # of click) or you could even win the game by destroying this objective.  And on the plus side, maybe the Rebel player will not protect this objective very well because he thinks it's good for him to lose it… but you'll still have destroyed one more objective so the others will make your Dial click more.

*I hope we'll have another update today, like last week… rule book anybody??? (from what I know, the first Star Wars tournament is this weekend?)

For me the second preview addresses the concerns many people have about heroes vs vehicles combat. I see it a s a way of seying " the fact that a rancor is able to destroy a star destroyer is our thought-through decision and we are stickigh with it to keep the game flowing".

Fans of SW should have no problems imagining a way for a Jedi to get on board of a star destroyer, ride a tauntaun through the coridors, and stick his lightaber ino one place that will make the whole ship explode. For me the cards in play represent elements that shift the tides of battle and play key roles in the "scene". If I have only two X-wing cards on the table it doesn't mean that the rebels atack using only 2 ships. It means that the "camera" follows these two ships while they make an attack run. A great battle rages in the background, represented only by the objective cards. I play another card and one of the pilots uses his jedi powers to dodge attacks. Only when i play another card next round it's revealed that this pilot is in fact Luke.

Btw: Can Fate cards be be used inly in Edge Battles? It surely looks like it to me.

I was not sold on the ship vs people like a lot of people here… but if they wanted a game that played fast, there was no other options.  With your "camera focus" theory, I'm sure I'll love it now, and my game experience will be enhanced by that.

Thank you, now I will not see a ewok "killing" a star destroyer single handly, but maybe a ewok getting on the star destroyer and finding a way to destroy it, or a ewok on Endor running to a turbo-laser turret and shooting the star destroyer… the possibilities are endless.

Now I can't wait to play that game.

  7.  About the locations...

If they keep this game scenario driven, like it was at the beginning, they could make the locations part of a scenario.

For exemple, you could have a scenario like the ending of Episode 4 where the Imperial forces would have the Death Star and the rebels would have Yavin or something like that.

So you could have many different locations, but they'll be used for different mission/scenarios.

  8. Am I the only one not able to see any image in this thread???  (I would love to have the map and the Party card - Drunken bums)

By the way, very nice work Reg.  I hope it will not bother you if I steal your Cheap tickets scenario for my first attempt at 3rd edition?

I can't wait to read the next adventures of yours.

  9.  Why does the prize have to go to the best deck/player?

This is not a competitive game; it's coop!!!  Why not a sportmanship prize???

Why do you play this game?? To win or to have fun with friends?? Me I play it to have fun with my friends, that's why I think the prize for this kind of coop LCG (same thing for LOTR) should be different than the one for competitive game play.

In Warhammer/40k tournament, there's 3 different prizes, and 2 of them have nothing to do with how powerful your army is.  Paint and sportsmanship.

Why not take a different approch to tournament prizes for a different type of game?
