Winter79 said: Quite right FlorisH. So now moving forward though are we going to see cards that reflect this new point system or are they gonna stick to the old everything costs 2 or 4 points. This is the question that I want to know and will be asking at GenCon this year! ( if not answered by then )

The Vrill are the alien race in this game, where all the technology comes from. www.kallamity.com/products/view/HE001D The link is to a model company that designed a Vrill Tank for Paolo some time ago. Who knows what the minatures will look like, but if this is any indication I am pretty excited for the future of this game.

Gobbo said: Snipers and Forward Observers are only 1 point each. Are you sure. I was looking at the cards on the site and they look like they are 2 points. May just be my eyes though.

Because that is not balance.... Now I do not know what the artillary strike is going to bring but if does turn out to be devastating then this unit should be around 3 or 4 points. especially if you are just going to keep then hidden behind some hard cover and artillary strikes on some one. Now this squad, when it hits the field is going to have a huge target on it and is probably going to be one of the first things your opponant is going to go after.
-
I have seen this card also and have also thought that those points seem unbalanced. at 2 points you can bring back a whole squad, bring back a mech, and call in artillary. This does seem a bit unbalanced. It would appear so far that all models are either 2 points or 4 points.

The rules do state that using knife and gernade or knife results in a simultanous attack, but I would imagine the weapon on the Luther would be a CC attack, but that doesn't really matter because knife and gernades would never be able to damage the Luther. Now if you had a luther engaging a Loth or another Luther( both have that same weapon ) I would say they would fall under the CC rules, but that is just my opinion.

Definatly going to try this out in my game next week.

Thanks for the info. I did know about the Tamiya set ( which I just picked up the other day ), but I was unaware of the company Verdelien. I will have to look into what they offer and how to get some. On a side note when I picked up Tamiya set I saw that they also make a box of troops in 1/48 scale and so I picked up a set of german troops which I should have put together soon and hope to make a card for them. as a basic troop type. hopefully I can get some pics up this week of them.

You can see this model painted along with many others from future expansions at the following site. miniaturereview.blogspot.com/2011/01/dust-tactics-monde-du-jeu-2010.html miniaturereview.blogspot.com/2011/01/dust-tactics-upcoming-units.html

It is true that the tuurets on the allied walkers do not snap on, but there is a thread on this forum on how to magnatize the walkers and he shows you step by step on how to do this. Some of the allied parts are a little delicate, such as the .50 cal and searh light, so you do want to be carefull when putting these on. the afore mentiond thread also shows how to also magnatize these as well.

I personally have not had any problems with my boards warping, So maybe this issue has to do with climate you live in or what you are putting the boards on. I live in Northern California and play with the gaming tiles on a gaming table on a gaming table at my FLGS. As far as minature warping some of the guns on my minatures were a little bent, but nothing that could not be fixed with a Hair dryer and a little patience. I expect some slight flaws in most of the minatures I buy though, due to shipping, and most are pretty easy to repair. I have also not heard of any Sino-Soviets releases at this time, but who knows. hopefully as this game gets bigger and more popular their will be future releases.

That may be my bad, I thought on the cards you had made it had said movement was 1. I believe 2 is a good speed for them at that was kind of where I was going. Something that could move faster as incentive to take as opposed to walkers.
-
I like the expanding rules. Just one SMALL critisism. Shouldn't the speed be slightly higher on the panzer and sherman to maybe two. These are almost the exact same stats as the walkers, so why take tanks instead of walkers? I am sure there is a reasoning behind this and I really like the idea and I am just trying to assist.

Very cool looking model. Do you have an idea on some stats for him? Are you staying with just CC weapon for him or any range weapons in his future?

In box Review of the Dust Models 1/48 Jagdluther Kit
reptilebro1 replied to rwwingate's topic in Dust Tactics
I have seen on BGG site they have the cards posted on their site. I belive these cards were made before the final rules were finalized because they do not seem balanced with the walkers in the game. So you may have to make some adjustments if you want a balanced game. or not, depending on who you are. -

Cool article. I can't wait to get my Fury of Ivan. I didn't realize that it came in parts like a model. I am definatly ordering mine when I get home. Please keep us posted on on how the building and painting goes. -
I don't know if anyone has or remebers this game but it is kind of like the Dust Universe. It was available on PS2 and features walking tanks and units to support those tanks. The game got kind of minotinous after awhile, but I was talking to guy the other day and he had reminded me of this game and how much like Dust it was. If you still have a PS2 or a backwards compatable PS3 I would definatly check it out.

I like the Blog's. Makes me want the tabletop rules even more to make larger games. Great info.

New to Dust Tactics - Help with a couple of issues

Sarge1019 said: Also, I noticed in the rulebook, that there was some kind of wall terrain placed on the board. Are those pieces produced by dust tactics or did someone make that stuff? These were made by the studio. I am sure after a while some company will produce something along the way of these if they are not released by FFG themselves. I would also keep my eye on www.dust-models.com for maybe some terrain pieces. -
I would have to say both. The models stats are broken. I mean the armor is to high for a basic walker, and the points are to high I would say for any walker. The stats are so broken I do not see why anyone would field them with what they are now. Now I am all for reworking the stats if you and your opponant can agree on something fair. They are awesome models I have already ordered mine, I will just have to rework the stats so that they are fair for both players.
