Very nice models. I really like the walkers.
Great Job

I do like the Battlefoam trays, but the downside for me is the price of their cases. the trays are 52.00 for the three with space for some of the expansions (which is not to bad for the trays) and 80.00 for the case. I want to try and find something like an ammo create or something that will hold the trays.

the box art and the blurb have them as a unit of 3. not fast, but 2 move points (so 4 on a move + move). they can jump over impassable terrain, and i thought the blurb had them as having dual victory mg's, but i only see one, which would be 9 machine gun shots against type 2 infantry.
They do have the dual Victory MG's but perhaps instead of that meaning you have two guns maybe it will allow you to reroll anymissed shots like a twin linked 40k weapon

IMO I think the problem that FFG has is they are to big with to many products and probably not enough people to assign to each game. This is why I was a little bumed when I heard AEG was giving this game to FFG. If you look at the bigger companies in this industry they have maybe 3 main products that they push and therefore they have the personel to back and support their games. FFG has got to have 50-75 different games that they support, so they are to big to make this game what we want it to be.
Maybe Paolo should have tried to produce the game himself and give it the attention we would like to have seen.

I asked for a game night pack for our gaming group.
We are on the West Coast of the US and had no tournament presence here at all. Myself and a few others are trying to spread the word about Dust and bring in the players.
It would be nice if FF could at least reply to an email.
I also live on the west coast and asked my FLGS to order the Game night pack for our group and after a lot of finger pointing we never got it in. So, I tried to go through FFG myself to get it and never recieved an email back. I want to help promote the game to play against more people, but it does not appear that it is not important enough to FFG to try and get more people to play.
Other than that I have no gripes about how they are doing with this game.

The second series of comics actually takes place before the first. The Mickey walker from what my understanding in the comics is the first allied walker. This is also the first time JoeKoska meet. Other types of units that you see in in the first comic are troops with jump packs.
-
You can get both comic series in 1 TPB form. I got mine from Barnes & Noble online and it cost like 15.00. It has both stories and a whole bunch of concept art in the back for all the different factions (japan, Sino-Soviet, allied, and axis)

The letter more or less explains that the models that are made from Dust tactics / dust models are not meant to be used for the dust tactics game and that is why they no longer are coming with stat cards.
FFG was not getting their share of the profits from these sales I presume and told Paolo to stop making these pieces for the game.

I like!
My only thought on checking range and removing casualties would be to follow AT-43 kind of rules where range and line of site is drawn from unit leader and casualties are removed based on controlling players choice, but unit leader is always last minature left standing. When it comes to cover you still draw range to unit leader, but you can shoot at models in the open ( if that makes sense )

While I do agree with what you are saying Kris, you have to remember that this game is still in it's infancy and is classified as a board game.
Everyday I keep my fingers crossed as to when the tabletop rules will come out and this game can become something more than just a board game. It is also hard for a game like this to make it's mark when it is surrounded by company's like GW and PP. Much like you I would at least like to see a source book outlaying Basic vehicles and tanks from the era. Though I am not holding my breath for anything like that since we are still only dealing with 2 factions. Maybe once or if ever they come out with the Sino-Soviet army. I will have have more confidence that this game is going to be what I truley would like it to be.

I got my Fury of Ivan Kit today. Very cool model can not wait to get started on it tonight. I also don't know if it is because this model is maybe less popular than the Jagdluther, but mine came with the card.
Now I just have to go through my At-43 minis and make some Sino-Soviet troops to play with and I will have a nice little Sino army.

What are Plastic Daleks? Can you post pics?

What is a filter wash?
I am familiar with standard washes and inks, but I have not heard of a filter wash.

I see what you mean ark, but a basic troop card only has one line for their main weapon and no number in parenthesis to say how many they have and you have to fall back on the WYSIWYG rule and the Ludwig does have two weapons. I feel though going forward I will play it as one weapon because the other way with 2 guns seems way overpowered.
-
SO, the Ludwig vs. Pounder
Both are worth 40 points, Against tanks, The Ludwig gets 7 dice x2 against 4 armour tanks along with the MG48 for ani infantry. While the punder gets one shot against 4 armour tanks with 6 dice, a .50 cal and a .30 cal. ohh and jump. How does this make the pounder able to stand toe to toe with the ludwig. In many of the games I play if both sides took X amount of points, they should be even. I do not see this as the case.
Now this is all under the assumption that the Ludwig does get 2 shots and the stat line is each cannon by its self. Now if the stat line is combined cannons then I can see the how they may be even. Does anyone else agree with this.

Per TGN today Operation Cyclone and the 2 walkers should be released this month within the next couple of weeks.
-
I have not look at the blog lately, but was wondering if you were going to adjust the points on your cards to reflect the new point system?
-
Well, I know the BBQ squad and Axis Laser troops are supposed to be released today. As far as the others I would say sometime in the next month. Comming soon should be walkers and command squads and the first expansion all say Feb or March.
-
I like the 200 points game size. it includes the box set along with some extra for you to play with. how about 10 units of recon rangers and a pounder.
I also noticed on the player army sheet that it includes Tiers. I am wondering if this is something along the lines of Tiers in games like Warmachine as where you take certain amount of certain models and you get bonuses.

I am not sure I just know on The website it states that the kit costs 25.00
-
I would imagine that that would work. you pay them 25.00 they send you the kit.
-
After. You have to roll all your hits first then the person in cover rolls for cover.
-
I would keep my eye on the dust models website maybe around the end of February begining of March
-
Well the Starter set comes in at 159 per faction. So, I would think that 200 sounds fair.

Ideas for carrying cases?

If you look at the 3 pieces of foam it appears it will hold 8 mechs (which you have to take turret off of allies and arms off of the axis). plenty of room for soldiers though. 1 piece of foam for axis troops and walker arms, 1 foam for allie troops and turrets and the last one holds walker bodies and terrain elements. It appears that they have not made a deal with FFG completely yet as with other companies, but I am sure once they do you will be able to make your own custom foam trays through them, which you could do now if you are good at geomatry
