  1. Thank you Severance for your reply!

It is true that Naggaroth Spearmen and Burn it Down do not harmonize with each other well, what I had forgotten.

I don't share your oppinion about Hate. This tactic card is useful in any DE Deck and able to give you the advantage in early game you need to determine the outcome of the game.

There is no use for any additional ressource boosters. Innovation is already in the deck and Treasure Vaults are not necessary because of my lack of expensive units or tactics.

I have removed 2x Burn it Down for 2x Withering Hex and 3x Dark Initiate for 3x Seeking New Slaves. I'm struggling a bit about Mortella which I use by far not often enough.

  2. Grille and I tried the above-mentioned draft format with 70 cards in the draft pile, each card only two times. We both like the diversion from the usual game. The bright use of draft cards is very important in the drafting procedure. :-)

To fasten things up we will allow to include Innovation, Contested Village and Warpstone Excavation 3 times each next time.

  3. Okay, let's talk about successful Dark Elf control decks. What I played at last and brought much joy was the following:

    Unit (25):
    3 Walking Sacrifice
    3 Dark Initiate
    3 Dwarf Slaves
    3 Shades
    3 Corsairs of Ghrond
    2 Mortella
    2 Naggaroth Spearmen
    3 Seasoned Corsair
    3 Wight Lord

    Tactic (11):
    3 Hate
    3 Innovation
    3 We Need Your Blood
    2 Burn it Down

    Support (14):
    3 Warpstone Excavation
    3 Contested Village
    3 Har Ganeth
    3 Slave Pen
    2 Soul Stealer

I love to hear any suggestions and comments!

  4. Welcome Blaquesmith to this wounderful game!

You have built a very interesting Dark Elf deck, but from my point of view there are some loose ends.

I do not really understand what purpose Countess Iseara has in your deck? Which unit shall gain Necromancy? Angi'arie is a little bit expensive to my mind. I would add another Vile Sorceress and I like the Naggaroth Spearmen.

Raise Dead works better in decks with heavy units (with costs of 6 or more). Soul Stealer is a lot of fun to play but not nearly as effective as you wish because of all the support removal cards. I would include 2 copies at most.

You do not have so much sacrificing units to use the tactics Lash the Prisoner! and Whip the Slaves. This cards consorts well with Crypt Ghouls and Veteran Sellswords.

To make a long story short as a beginner I would concentrate on one deck theme (e.g. sacrificing, controling other units, necromancy) and would build my deck around it.

  5. Official Rule Question:

Descendant of Indraughnir has an action ability "when this unit attacks". Does this mean the action window when you declare what units are attacking? Or can it be any time during the battlefield phase while Indraughnir is an attacker?

Answer by Lukas Litzsinger - Associate LCG Designer - via Mail:

You can trigger "when this unit attacks" actions during the "Declare Attackers" action window, and only once per window per action. So your former interpretation is correct.

Entropy42, please add the ruling to your threat at deckbox.org.

Tear of Isha is machine-gun death when you use Dreamers and Glittering Tower.  Dreamers netting you 6 hammers, plus an instant heal and zone burn is just a thing of beauty.

How exactly does the combo work? I can't figure it out. Perhaps I'm just too dumb to count to six but everything I have tried does not come to your conclusion. I'm very excited for an explanation.

  7. Usually the Deck Building Forum is not there for my kind of response. But I believe it does not matter which action is triggered first, Wilhelm's one or the Slayers' one. In the FAQ it is stated that, "[d]estruction or removal of the source at that time will not affect the resolution on the card effect." Therefore Wilhelm will be destroeyed either way.

  8. Do other attacking units participate from Basha's Bloodaxe?

When I attack with 5 units with 2 powers and 1 hit point each (one of the 5 units has Basha's Bloodaxe) and my opponent defends with one unit with 1 power and 2 hit points, 10 damages go through to the opponent's capital zone. What happenes to them? Will all the 10 damages be doubled for a total of 20 damages?
