  1. I don't see why there could not be other sideboards. Arkham, San Francisco etc. I think the game could still have a lot of potential.
  2. I enjoy this game also, play it a lot. I was wondering what expansions might be in the works. There are plenty of cards now but I was wondering if it would go "outside" the museum or an artifact might send you somewhere else. Anyone else got ideas?
  3. thanks, I will check it out.
  4. My wife and I have been playing a lot and really like this game. Our games last over an hour, sometimes an hour and a half. We have the expansion also. I think it added a lot. I play with the harder Mytho cards. It seems however that we sometimes get devoured but the Ancient One does not seem to be much of a scare. We seem to watch our sanity and stamina more than the doom track although a couple of games have been close. We usually win and it seems a challenge but again not from the Ancient One. I have read a few similar posts here. Any ideas or houserules for the Ancient Ones.
  5. Jake yet again said: Drakson said: My wife and I play 2 investigators each and usually one big expansion, favorite is Innsmouth. I really like the look of it also. We play personal stories, relationship, injury and madness, epic battle, Miskatonic and the gates from Lurker. Occasionally we play a herald or a small expansion. I don't seem to get much out of the small expansions however except the Curse of the Dark Pharoah because of putting the expansions cards on top to get more theme. I suppose as far as new product for this game there will not be any. I do wish I was better at card printing etc for some of the fantastic player cards and expansions. One guy her a year or so ago had a really neat expansion from the River Docks I think. Do you have any more information about that "river Docks" expansion? I must have missed that one - unless you mean Door to Saturn, where you can travel to Arabia and Antarctica and the like. (It's a v. good expansion, BTW, well worth a look) As for custom material, I discuss this in depth in the design notes for Lovecraft Country (see my sig), but basically, with the exception of monsters (which have a tactile quality that is difficult to reproduce manually) if you've got a lot of custom material in any deck, it doesn't matter too much as you're not going to remember what's custom and what's not. If you haven't got a lot of material, you'll need to moderate it in some manner. Some examples might include: When a monster surge occurs, draw your a monster from the custom monster cup and place it on the surging gate. Use spawn monsters in your monster cup, when you draw a spawn monster, replace that monster with a draw from the custom monster cup. Draw your custom mythos / gate cards / small cards, etc. whenever the Ancient One is at the end of a row of the AO track. It was in the section above that players make up. Had good cards etc and was a side board off the river docks with ships, swimming from island, rusty weapons, all kinds of stuff. I remember a few people here printing it out. I just wasnt and still not good at printing out cards etc and making them look very good

  7. Joe Diamond and Silas are my favorites and the Innsmouth my favorite expansion. I have not played all investigators yet even though I have played for about 2 or 3 years so far. We don't always randon draw and if we do we draw 3 and pick 2 each because my wife and I always play with 2 investigators each.

    Worth getting?

I have not played yet but I like the theme. I picked up all expansions and figures except the Japan figures although I bought that expansion. How do the Japan figures add to the game. I just figures I like the Nazi, Russian and American forces better.

  10. My wife and I always play 2 investigators each. We beat Zhar once (or should I say twice), 3 investigators died and we were about down to our last dice roll. Beat Quachil Uttaus once and he seems hard because of the immunity but just seems plain wierd, I like him. Y'Golonac we beat once, very close. We used Epic cards all the time. Still we are not the best players, but AH is our favorite game. I sometimes don't know why we make it so hard on ourselves but it seems the harder the more enjoyment AH gives you, especially if you win.
  11. I have liked all the Star Wars films, well maybe a little disappointed on III with those little bear things running around. Anyway I have never understood a lot of the discontent that some fans have had with George Lucas. What is that all about? I would look forward to more Star War movies. I have always heard Lucas had 10 episodes. Again I have liked all the movies but not such a fan I recall all people, ships, planets etc.
  12. I am perordering 1 millenium falcon, 2 A wings, 2 TIE Interceptors and at least 1 Slave 1. However even though the Slave 1 reminds me of a flying Mr. Potato Head it is my favorite ship. I am thinking of ordering 2 but do not know point value and wonder if 2 of the larger ships would ever be needed. How many ships are you astromechs ordering? Just wondering, and what are you favorite ships. The Millennium Falcon I love but the flying Mr. Potato Head is just such a weird looking ship it makes me want 2 of them although I was going to order 3 and tamed that idea.
  13. If you are not playing by points the initiative goes to Imperial, and since they usually got beat in the movies, that may be one other reason initiative is not always best.
  14. I wonder how many different fighter ships will eventually be in this game. I have not read the books but I guess some of the fighters like the next TIE INTERCEPTOR must be from the books unless somehow my beady little eyes missed it in the films. Looks super sharp. I like the simple rules because that keeps the game moving fast like a good dogfight should. I like epic boardgames, have all expansions to Arkham Horror for example and many other games but it sure was fun to open X-WING and play, only missed a rule or so. I got 2 core, 2 TIE, 1 TIE ADVANCED, 1 Y and 1 X. Looking forward to other expansions. Just got Leviathans in today and although it will be fun the rules are quite a bit more. For example , six or more areas on all four sides to keep track of etc.
