Ok, so I have talisman 4th edition revised, and the following expansions:
1: The Reaper
1: The Frostmarch
just whant to know if there is some more expansion out there or I`m i up to date?
Also heard that another expansion is on it`s way called highland, is this tru and when is it coming then?
-
I`ve heard that you can only pay fate if it`s only concerning/effecting your own character?
If this is right, then i have 2 questions.
1: when rolling1 die for the grim reaper, can you use a fate? My opinion is that you can, it really is affecting/conserning your own character??
2: In the inner region, can you use a fate when dice whit death? my opinion is that you can, but of curse only for your own dice not the death dice!
What is right here? becuse if this is not tru (especially regarding nr 1) you are pretty mutch scrued if you roll a 1 on the grim reaper, not haveing the chans on a re-roll!

ok, it was "encountering" not attack, i forgot. so then it is a "go" for the thife"

-
But the rules clearly sais that the turns on coc only consisting on attacking against eachother, and therefore No to special abilities. In the rules it sais that you must choose to use a special ability or attack the character.... this you can`t "choose" in the coc, attacks only......(some having the ability to attack whit psy.combat, but it is still an attack, the thief ability is not an attack) Im i right`?

-
The thief comes in to coc and steals an object from another character already there, can the thief on his next turn steal another object? this was the question from the beginning right? what is right, beacuse the thife dosen`t "land" on that character anymore??

-
In this case they both had the same number and both where strength, but they were to strong for me. I wanted to evade only one, and fight the other....... so what is right? can i do this?
-
ok, i have read thos rules now. nice. i would like more of these rules, another faq coming out sone??
-
We played a game last night and this problem came up that made me a little cunfused:
Thief lands on the druid and steals an object, but then he wanted to draw an adventure card as well, I said NO NO. You must decide wether or not you want to face the character you land on or the space itself. The interaction-map on the back of the basic rules sais this. But then the thief meant that the druid then can`t draw spells (beacuse this is a special ability) in the woods and take an adventure card as well??? But my (druid) special ability don`t refer to a character and therefore i can draw a card as well.
What is right in this matter??

He he he, a lot of good ways to do this then
. I think i stick to the way we do it, and let another player draw a card whit hes eyes closed, or hi pick a number from lets say 1 to 10 (if i have 10 cards)
. fast and ease. -
It`s the same whit spells, you can`t cast them if they don`t have some kind of effect (just to maybe get rid of it), the same whit the sword you are asking about, since it is a battle, the sword don`t work, and therfor you can`t use it at all. thats my opinion.

He he he, been playing this for almost 20 years and still there are things that are you never remembers in this game
, Im shure that we have played some things the wrong way from time to time, becuse when i think of it, there is no character that can choos to attack psy.combat to an enemy/creature that has strength on the card. This meens that any character that can attac whit psy.combat can not use this ability against the lord of the darknees or the sentinel? becuse the are not considerd a character but creatures, right?

This game only becomes more and more confusing he he he.
-
When you are about to dicard an object at random, how do you solve this? can the character choos for him self or for an ex the way my friends and i play, you take all of your objects and mix them together and someone else draws a card to discard. is this the right way?

-
hmmmm? ok! don`t have those rules jet, but that would be nice.
-
this happend to night when we played. I meet two enemys in the dungeon, both wery strong, I hade a very big chans of being defeated....... and thus lose the warhors
..... so i wanted to evade one of them and only attack one. My friends said NO NO, you can only avade both or non of them, not just one, becuse the fight as one........... but me whanting an str. thropy disagread
...... dont really know whats right??? -

what i meant was this: if you meet a lion whit str. you must fight it whit str. and change it for str. points. same goes for craft.......now, if you have an ability or a spell or an object etc etc to do psy.combat insted whit an enemy/creature you can use your craft insted, if you then, lets say, fight a lion this way, you still trade the card for str. points NOT craft points.
hopes this makes sense. And to really answer the first question, if you fight an enemy/creature that have both stats (craft/str.) you choos what to fight whit, if you used str.... its traded for str.points and vise versa

I think your right. a carrying limit for the character, aldo he has the mule, would do the game a little more challenching and exeting, this would meen that a character don`t run around whit 20 magic objects and are overpowerd..... he must choos the ones that he wants in effect for that turn.........this is a nice housrule
.the way we play right now, after about 2h we have strength 10 or more in only points from trophys, even more from folloers and objects, so we are all overpowerd but no one whants to go for the coc, afraid to be to week when chrt. nr 2 comes up, this meens we keep killing everyting in are way.
Maby an strength and craft limit should be in use?

Hi!
I have a qustion concerning the objects you carry.
ex; say you have the mule, now you can carry 8 object. one of these is a weapon (sword for example). you meet an enemy and battle.
Do you need to specify that it is you that are carrying the sword and not the mule? I have played talisman for almost 20 years
and never come a cross any rules saying this, except when i entered this forum some talks about this, and it made me wonder???I have always thought that it dosent matter who is carring what in this matter, only when you lose lets say ex: the mule, you must ditch 4 objects of you choice.
-
a turn is a turn of 1 player, don`t make it harder than it is, you must move 3 times as a toad berfor you turn back to normal, so on your 4 time you move as a normal character. any actions from other players while it is your turn dosen`t count.

-
You don`t loos life every turn, only the first turn when you land on the space. thats my opinion, you are stuck in a temple, there must be some whater there for you to drink

-
YES! any space
. ex: the city. -
In the normal rules and without the expansion you can only get to coc from the vally of fire i think, but now whit the expansion sets out, there is multiple ways to get there
. -
YES! you get a strength point
, the same goes for pool of life... -
the thife can not use his ability if he dosent "land" on the space, therfor he can`t steal every turn on one and the same space, makes seens, you cant steal two times from the same character on the same space, or he will be busted
. Neither can any character pick up items droppe/lost on te coc. But if someone gets killed there, the remaning character can pick up everything

Question about expansions!

Of curse, I forgot to mention that i have the dungeon also
.
So it`s tru, there will be a new expansion......... I really hope it comes whit a new board (like the dungeon) , and not just new cards and characters, aldo it is always fun whit new things to talisman
