Originally I had all my spell effects set as the equivalent of Talents, only you don't pay XP to unlock them, you gain certain ranks of them as you move into new Careers.
I've got Sigmar and Shallya figured out utilizing a modified version of the existing magic lists, but they're also two of the easiest ones. Once you start getting into Morr, Verena, and Manaan, you start to have to create unique lists, so that will take more time.

There's a working draft of Sigmar. The good thing about doing it this way is it reduces the number of unique spell entries by eliminating some of the more common effects.

I'm using my LaTeX template to do my layouts. But if you don't want to learn LaTeX (not a super-easy language to learn) you can use GM Binder. Assuming you know a little HTML/CSS, you can make it look real good.

I'm not creating not like this right now, but I've created a lot of this to myself, cause I really like to see any RPG content with a good design and aesthetic, and I'm not talking just about the text and the mechanical aspect

I know how to use PS, even though I don't work with this and never sold anything that I'd created using it.
I use the Deviant and the internet in general to find some inspirations, RPG books and it's easy to find tutorials to learn about a specific effect or something like this.
I create the art I want and use the Word to do the work.
Somethings I don't know how to fix well, like the small artistic tables to put the adversaries's statistics.

I did everything for my Dark Heresy conversion myself using InDesign. It's pretty easy to pick up and learn, although if you don't already have the software the price can be pretty offputting.

I would highly recommend GM Binder. I have never used HTML in my entire life and i was able to figure it out by just copying and pasting the source code from the Genesys Template. Anything not covered or explained in the template's tutorial was easily solved with a quick google search.

My Gentlemen of Fortune setting started in a word document and very easily converted to GM Binder. The first version of the PDF was created in about a week of just blindly fiddling with GM Binder with no experience with HTML ever. Most of the images i used were found on Google and Pinterest. I have commissioned one of my players to make a cover for the book. The world map was created using World Spinner, but I'm hoping to learn some VERY simple image editing skills to personalize the map.

The program my artistic friend recommended i use is called FireAlpaca, Which is completely free. He basically described it as a fancy version of MS Paint for easy drawing and editing.

Thanks for the information all. Just to clarify, I don't intend to charge money for it; I've mainly been working on it for personal use and got to the stage where it occurred to me that there are likely others that would enjoy the possibility of playing WFRP in the Genesys system.
Sounds like there's a risk in a C&D, but I don't mind that risk. I've done some initial review of the stated trademark policy on both the FFG site and the Games Workshop site, and if I'm off in my interpretation, and they want to send a C&D, then I can address it at that time. Kind of a "never hurts to try" situation.

I had the same problem at the beginning. My solution was that I just encouraged players to try out things, and was lenient about their ideas. Some were stupid, and illogical, but I still allowed them. It didn't take long to players to find the right mindset, and now I have been able to be stricter and require more logical solutions. Trick is to guide them to the correct mindset. I still sometimes throw ideas for them, and sometimes they use them, more often they use their own or refine my ideas to something totally crazy. This is collaborative effort after all, and most important thing is to have fun.

If your players are having problems thinking of what to do, you can also give them an NPC ally or patron. The NPC doesn't necessarily have to travel with them, but they might call on the NPC when they need a clue. It gives you as GM a mouthpiece without breaking the fourth wall of the game.

I think this is a really bad place to have a religious debate. That said, saying "Christmas isn't a real Christian holiday" is a gross insult to the 1/3 of humanity that follows that faith. I'll grant lots of "Christmas traditions" are derived from pagan practices (shoot, look at Easter and Halloween for overlap between the two), but the coincidences (and co-opting) of specific dates have very little to do with the principles behind the religious observances. "Respect each other" is a concept that should transcend religious beliefs, and is completely in keeping with X-Wing's "fly casual" ethos.

Wow, you powers of selective reading are amazing futant. Let's review the above, shall we?
All Superdave did was request that we respect others who know Jesus is real, like myself. You don't have to agree, but you also don't need to attack something you don't understand. It seems to me you have a chip on your shoulder about this, why don't you take that elsewhere? I don't post hundreds of post about Jesus on these boards, but I don't come here expecting to have to defend my faith either. I'd rather talk about X-wing.
It wasn't Believers who started this "flame war"
