  1. I think I just burst bloodvessel in my Brain. Feeling light headed and tingling in my limbs. Haven't felt like this since Black Industries released DH 1st edition. There is no place for the weakwilled or hesitant. Only by firm action and resolute faith will mankind survive. No sacrifice is too great. No treachery too small. Kill the Mutant, Burn the Heretic, Purge the Xenos.
  2. Sentinel Scout Vehicle: Height: 4.8m Width: 2.3m Weight: 7 tonnes Not so small when you think. Info taken from Lexicanum.
  3. Old Unnatural Speed was removed in BC so yes, Unnatural Agility adds to movement speed. BC corebook p. 283-285 has nice tables that give you what is changed if you want to bring something from DH, RT or DW to BC
  4. Why couldn't you use Psychc Bolts in melee when you can use pistol weapons (with single, semi-auto or full-auto) in melee. Unless you have house ruled it like that off course.
  5. Ark of Lost Souls (p.123-124) has Vanguard Battlesuit (Elite) and Commander-Variant (Master) stats. Corebook commander and Vanguard Commander has almost same stats, so taking Vanguard Battlesuit stats for normal Crisis Suit is quite quick. Didn't seem to find them from anywhere else. Also this is good site to check 40K RPG Tools
  6. Remember though if you want, as GM, make it so that said Psyker was more likely whisked away by his Patron Daemon or something. Or give him Touched by the Fates trait. PC kill their Nemesis and he spontaineously combust leaving but ash behind. Players leave congratulating themselves for defeating their Nemesis. Pan back to the ash pile, small movement can be seem as the ash is starting to combine back together in human shape. Warning: GM fiat is not for everyone, consult your Doctor before using.
  7. Warpsmith also gives you Psyker trait, if you don't have it yet, and Psy Rating (+2). Only thing with these is that they are Rewards of the Dark Gods so you have to be Devoted to Tzeench to be able to roll them.
  8. 1. Make WS/BS test (using example Severan Troopers Stats) and count DoS just like PC had made that roll. Maximum Hits for Formation of 10 Troopers is 10. So if you roll 12 DoS you would still only gain 10 hits as that is the Maximum. 2. Ok there your going wrong. Formations are OW's Hordes. It's not just meant to represent massed forces pounding each other to pulp. They are also meant to be thrown against PC groups. Also read the Formation Rules fully, it still seems you don't get the catch of them. I read them first thing I got the book and now I'm going to use them to represent the other squads of my PC's Platoon in Campaing I'm running.
  9. Han Solo: "I think I got it. I got it!" *rolls Threat* one of the best moments in RotJ
  10. My group considered them for about 2 seconds. They look cool, they have a cool name and all that but the RP them? No. I'm pretty sure I've stepped in puddles with more character then them. My main issue with making them very low grunts is mostly their loadout and skillset. It feels likt it would become VERY samey and limited. I get that guardsmen are very similar (my main experience is fighting them on the tabletop, then again my boyz aren't exactly the epitome of diversity) and playing a full on grunt squad? Well, i guess we'll fire our lasguns! Just wanted to point that they seem most likely candidates for group to play version of Only War with PC's being dime a dozen people. They don't have personality, only "We fragged our own planet now we must pay penances." But still take Valhallans/Steel Legion/Shock Troopers/etc. and have them be lead by Officer who just sees them as numbers to throw against superior numbers again & again without anyway to crawl to higher position (have played those kind of games) my interest drops to zero. But back to Topic. COMMISSARS In my OW Campaign I'm going to make Commissar NPC, who is not constant pain just frequent pain in the players life, who watches after PC's and NPC's moral. When player dies I might allow them to make Cadet Commissar (gonna use ranking found in Lexicanum) who is attachet to PC Squad to see how war is fought and lead by example. He is answerable to his superior and should player try to over use his Munitorium given Mandate he would be sure as Warp to get Comissariats (read GM's) full wrath over him and sent to Penal Legion. Towards the end of said Campaign I will give players chance to choose from Guardsmen or Support Specialist but starting was locked to Guardsmen only mode. So Ogryns, Ratlings, Enginseers, Priests, Stormtroopers, Psykers and Commissars will be coming together if players want to make character out of them. Haters gonna Hate what are you gonna do about it
  11. @Santiago If your asking about Formation firing weapons on Full Auto then its represented by Command: Volley Fire. They gain additional hit per DoS. Same thing with melee version of this command. Maximum number of hits is Unit Strength, this is calculated by troop units in the Formation. So Formation, containing Overseer and 10 Troopers, would be 10 hits. Overseer or Weapon Specialist in the group can make his own Ranged attack action. Don't have my book around now so can't give more info.
  12. Also this should also be taken into account BC Corebook p.144 " In addition, whenever someone with an Unnatural Characteristic succeeds on a Test utilizing that Characteristic, they gain a number of bonus Degrees of Success equal to half of their Unnatural Characteristic"
  13. Just one sentence - Death Korps of Krieg
  14. Unnatural are flat numerical increase to related Characteristic Bonus. So there isn't any before or after hassle anymore.
  15. @RoboMummy Read the rules for Formations and Commands fully from p.124-134 as there seems to be few things you seem to my reading missed or interpretated wrong. Formation A attacks Formation B by using Volley Fire Command. Formation A has BS 34 but gain +50 from their Unit Strength so they need to roll below 84. (Unit Strength 10) Formation A scores 14 so they have 7 degree of success. (Initial success and 6 under the needed) Formation A rolls 7 times for damage of their autoguns. Formation B checks every roll to see how many rolled above their AP+TB in this case total is 7. 4 damage rolls go over this so 4 guys are dead from Formation B Didn't count range for this but I'm tired as hell and one bloody squeeking door frame seems to have taken its life mission to drive me nuts just now. So without more good night.
  16. One BS Test per Formation. Check Commands p.128 in EotI
  17. OW p.269 - Comrades in Combat Giving Specialty or Generic Order (p.270) is a Free Action, unless stated otherwise by Order's description. And they count towards Comrades own pool of Actions, (two half actions or one full action just like PC) Sweeping Orders (p.82) issued by Sergeant do not require Comrade to spend action, as they are passive bonuses which affect every Comrade in the Squad for entire Round of Combat. Only one Sweeping Order can be issued per Turn. Remember also that PC and Comrade must be in Cohesion (normally within 5 metres of each other and not separated by solid wall) with each other to gain the benefits of an Order, unless otherwise stated.
  18. Critters/Creatures/Daemon Engines: Plague Zombies Plague Toads Fimirs Ah memories of childhood Rot Beast Bile Trolls Plague Ogryns Beast of Nurgle Plague Drones Obliterators Blight Drones Plague Hulk Forgefiend Maulerfiend Many, many Rites of Decay & Pestilence for creating contagions and spreading them.
  19. BC corebook p.78 upper right corner, Khorne & Psykers. Keep Psy Rating and Powers but can't access them. Not the only way to play it but possibly closet to official.
  20. Well to me it was very clear that Good Crafmanship didn't apply situationally. Errata made that quite clear. But good thing this got settled. Joten näkemiin.
  21. As does OW Errata and same answer. I would say that OW & BC are more closer to each other than Rogue Trader & Dark Heresy. Oh just that everytime you fail to hit roll with poor craftmanship weapon it Jams and mix that with Overheat some can interpretate that its auto "Burn your hand or drop the weapon" everytime you fail BS test. Well you could say that present "Jammed" rule is also interesting. Lets say your Guardsman Smith (who has 3 chargepacks) has just reloaded his lasgun with his second clip but forgot to chant Litany of Reloading. Lasgun's Machine-Spirit goes bonkers and jams. So he ejects the clip, remove anything fouling the firing mechanism and then insert his third clip because his just reloaded, then full, clip number 2 has "mysteriously" emptied itself. You say tomato, I say tomato.
