Geez. The amount of entitlement some people have. I understand the disappointment of not getting a ticket, I really do, but you aso have to keep things in perspective. 50-60k people attending; super hyped new game; larger than normal space for a LCG..... they did the best they could. Some just struck out. Cant fit everybody in there.

I am curious just to how close to Conquest it will be. I mean, the Conquest mechanic is now abandoned with GW moving away. There are 7 major clans (Crane, Scorpion, Crab, Lion, Unicorn, Phoenix, and Dragon) and the Conquest core shipped with 7 factions (Orks, Imperial Guard, Space Marine, Tau, Eldar, Dark Eldar, and Chaos.... with Tyranids later).

So I finally got in my mats today. Shipment was deays because of the snow storm we had here on the east coast. Here is a pic of both mats together. There seems to be no issue with the space areas in coloration or anything. They pair up pretty well.

How often are you switching between Range and Distance that it will in any way at all 'slow the game down'.

I already use acrylic rulers (like a good many players) and it is not a problem at all.

Honestly this is a storm in a very small teacup.

The different ranges is probably just printing variables from the card stock items.

As for switching between two rules... C'mon man!

Literally your whole post is whining over millimeters (or halves there of) and seconds switching between rulers...

Even if it works out for them that doesn't mean much. Unles they've made some fairly major changes to how the game works since last time I played.
Part of FFG's system is that you need the cards to play the game. Officially they're no different then the model or the tokens. They're required components, but some or even most are ok with proxies in casual games anyway.
So FFG puts some cards in some expansions and others in different ones because they know those cards will help sell those expansions. Any sort of system that lets people buy cards directly from FFG will hurt the sales of the expansions, because they won't buy a 3rd or 6th MC-30 for the sake of a single card.
It's possible that with Armada the higher price on expansions means card packs or something may actually work. But that is something any of us can only make wild guesses at and the posts here by and large will change nothing. FFG will do whatever is best for FFG.

You mentioned the MS, and the wheelchair, challenging people to insult you based on them. No one insulted you for your dyslexia. No one knew that you had dyslexia, then you said you did, and no one has called you out for your errors after that (Lyraeus did, but only in response to your fixation on his one error.)
I'm not in Colorado. In case you didn't notice we can communicate over the internet.
Anyway, I will be done with you as well. If you want to talk to me come to Minnesota, or respond on the internet because we have that capacapability now.
Lyraeus: how dare you think we could get back on topic?! Though in truth there hasn't been anything significant to say on topic for about 9 pages now, except for Average Boss's interesting "print on demand" idea - it won't happen, but it's at least an interesting point.

Actually you are the one being personally aggressive and offensive. You are insulting others frequently, and for no reason. If he pointed that out face to face, then he isn't an ass, you are the ass first.
Now it seems like you are using your alleged disabilities to hide behind being rude to others. That's not an acceptable thing to do. Either be a decent person, or don't, but don't justify being a terrible person with a terrible opinion because you have disabilities.
Also, no one mentioned your disabilities until you did. Hiding behind them now? Gross.

Actually, sir, I was pointing out to ScottieATF that you might not be a native English speaker, which might have explained your wording.  It's not a personal attack, nor was it making fun of you.  However, you have done nothing but attack other people on this thread.  Your dyslexia and MS do not give you license to do so without being called out for it.

And lets be honest here. How many of us have already bought a second (or third) tool already? I bought a couple of extras and made them smaller so I have templates that are less board intrusive when I am going at slower speeds.

FFG has built its Miniatures Games business model around repeat custom - they are relying on the average customer buying - I dunno, probably around 1.5 x each box - assuming your "average" customer will get one of each expansion and 2 of their favourites. Of course, some people get more, some get less, but they will have a solid idea of their customer base and what they need that customer base to purchase in order to keep a game profitable.

For example - I have only bought one of the core sets. My friend bought two. My friend has bought one of every expansion, and an extra one of the MC30, the AF2, the GSD and the fighter packs. I have bought one of each Imperial pack, plus an extra GSD, but then I'm fairly reserved.

Look at the make-up of each expansion - you get the ship, you get the ship-specific and unique components, plus a few desirable "generic" components. This blend means that the product appeals to both dedicated collectors and impulse buyers - "Do I really want another one of these? Ooh, you get X17s in it..." and so on. Basically, with the exception of a small number of Unique upgrade cards, all the components in a ship expansion - from the ship itself to the cards and tokens - have value on repeat purchase.

ANYWAY, the issue with card packs is - how the hell do you assemble them? Do you include multiples of basic generic upgrades? Maybe, but then you reduce the utility of the ship expansions. Do you include multiple unique cards? Maybe, but then you reduce the repeat-value of the card pack. Do you include a mix? If so, what's the appeal of a bunch of cards compared to getting a nice shiny ship with a bunch of cards?

And all the while, one thing is constant: you're cannibalising the sales of your Ship Expansions.

Things like extra dice packs and the additional manoeuvre tool have a place in the product range - they're useful to have, they're high margin, and there's enough of a price difference between a £7 pack of dice and a £70 Core Set that neither product affects the sales of the other. If you'll impulse-buy another Core Set just 'cause you need more dice or a manoeuvre tool, then you'll impulse-buy it anyway for more ships or extra obstacles or because you hate having money.

Card Packs sound like a great idea to a consumer, and after a few more Waves of expansions they could well have their place, possibly. But at the end of the day, most people don't need more than one or two X17s at a time - you simply can't fit enough ships with big enough batteries and Turbolaser upgrades into 400 points - so getting a Nebulon B expansion for that one card isn't such a big commitment. And if you're willing to pay, say, £12 for a pack of cards, you're definitely in a position to pay £15 for a Nebulon B pack.

I've sent them an E-mail about this, but haven't heard back. Maybe if they hear from more people it will get their attention. I buy the cards I need online but would rather have that money go back to Fantasy Flight. I could see them selling by product they normally come with or type of card. I recently bought a Raymus Antilles card because I have two Nebulons and I'm not going to buy another, If I could have bought a card pack I would rather buy directly from fantasy flight

The four to choose from are pretty great. They feel nice, and look awesome. 30-35$ was the going rate for decidedly worse mats before FFG announced these. It is kind of pinch to the penny pocket, but dag two of em look really cool together. I think it's worth it.
