  1. New articles means new content. +1 Rogue One Expansion. +1 Ewoks. meh Yoda. +2
  2. What everyone else said. We just try to apply some logic and do our best to make mental adjustments until we can get our actions back in line with the app.
  3. I find the story elements and variety of missions and encounters is much richer with the app. It can manage things that an Imperial player just can't. It can adjust and scale the level of challenge on the fly. It can manage branching story lines and variations on map development that can't be managed live. I prefer the story development in the app version quite a lot. I also prefer the opportunity to work cooperatively with my friends. When you have a regular group of 4, the app offers the better experience, as far as I'm concerned.
  4. Any interest in a skirmish tourney at this coming event? I'll organize if there is. I've only heard from one other player over on BGG. Takers?
  5. After seeing the work it took to develop M44 for the PC, I doubt FFG will make the investment necessary to port BattleLore. The unit variety, AI complexity and variable maps make the coding very challenging. There is no way they would do such a game for free, ala Ticket to Ride. I think we're out of luck.
  6. caradoc said: Ha! With a War Council level of six you are able to split those six levels between your War Council members (Commander, Warrior, Rogue, Wizard, Priest, Creature). This of course dictates what Lore cards make up the deck and how powerful a spell is when cast by your Councilor. Lore adds some fun twists to the game - certainly worth playing with in my view! But if you don't want to use it I'd do what you did - 5 Command Cards per player (minus 1 if they have a creature perhaps - because the penalty for having one is built into the level they take up on the war council rather than the balance of units on the board). But that shouldn't have too much of an impact whatever you decide. Hope you guys are having fun! I can't wait to play this with my son if he's interested when he's older (fingers crossed ) - currently it's one of my favourite games! Cheers, Giles. We use Lore and the Medieval Lore Deck. We just find the council thing a little fiddly. I love the Lore cards, especially when I get to save 16 lore and spring the Assault card. A card like that, late in the game, can wipe the smile right off your opponent's face. It wipes the smile off my face every time it gets sprung on me! When my girls were small they ate my minis. Later they used them as dolls. Now we stage plastic combat. Your time will come.
  7. Thanks, Giles. I thought War Council level might have something to do with it, but since both players are supposed to have WC level 6, I didn't understand why the command hand didn't just say 6. But now it makes sense. We never play using War Councils so we aren't familiar with the rules. We randomly decided to use 5 card hands, which worked just fine - for my daughter.
  8. I'm sure this is in the rules somewhere. I played an epic scenario that called for 3+ command cards for each player. What does the "+" mean? I assume that it means there is some way to increase my command card hand as the game progresses. What triggers the increase? In M44s Market Garden overlord scenario increased command card hands are triggered by kills. Is it the same here? Thanks. BTW, my daughter and I played The Caliphate's Enforcer. Her dwarves were too much for my goblins and spider. She won 7-5. Tomorrow, the rematch.
  9. New races would be excellent. Elves, especially, are missing from the standard race mix. And something with a dark theme would be quite welcome, too.
  10. I don't understand all the complaining about lack of support from FFG. Didn't they just release Code of Chivalry? Haven't they also released Dragons, Creatures, and Heroes since they picked the game up? Didn't they just release the repurposed French sets of everything that DOW ever made? What more do players want? Seems like trying to please some on this forum is impossible.
  11. I don't want to see a separate Middle Earth game, but I would Love to see Middle Earth scenarios adapted to this one. We have most of the races necessary and we can proxy for those missing. Maybe I need to write and post a scenario from a ME battle.
  12. I don't own the heroes expansion for BattleLore, but I'm familiar with the Ancients leader rules, so I've been adapting them for BattleLore. I really like the added tactical options. Leaders let units hit on Lore in close combat, make single units bold, and allow foot units to make follow-on attacks. They add a bit of role-playing without being complicated. There are no record sheets and the leaders don't gain levels or experience, but they are fun to use and very easy. I almost never use a Lore Council when I play. I only use the Lore Cards suggested for Medieval combat. Again, simple. I'm wondering if others have done similarly.

Helm's Deep. The Battle at the gates of Mordor. Battles from previous ages. Easy. Easy. Easy. Heck. Call the goblins orcs and you could set up a reasonable ME battle with the base set alone. I might look into creating a scenario. Its been done! Just not published yet... Richard Borg Any hints as to when we might see something published?
