  1. What is the purpose of the white boarder on the back side of the new 2.0 bomb tokens? 1.0 don’t have the white boarder on one side.
  2. It’s such a thematic game that novellas just make sense add the cards being not just new art but new content basically, and it’s no wonder they are so popular. It’s odd they are only reprinting the first novella and not the others that are more recent. Hopefully they’ll make more soon I might have to take it off my order if it’s not shipped after a year of waiting.
  3. Please print more novellas or in larger batches as I can’t ever seem to find them in stock anywhere. I’ve even placed pre orders with csi but wind up somehow missing out. I assume they had more pre orders than product when it came in and so my order just sits until more arrive. I have been waiting since Jan for an order that contains ire of the void, and to fight the black wind for example, still not shipped due to no stock. This shouldn’t be a rare item. You got scalpers on eBay selling for 40 dollars.
  4. Mansions of madness app 1.4.4 mono sound issue. I run on a Apple IPad Pro 2017 model, iOS 11.2.5, Sony X900E tv, Apple TV 4k 11.2.5. When I run the app and then screen mirror to my Apple TV 4k which is hooked up to my TV via HDMI. I only get mono from this app. The tv uses HDMI ARC to send audio back to my Onkyo surround receiver (5.1). Basically all the sound comes out my center speaker and nothing at all from any of my other speakers. This is running in Dolby pro logic mode. I can force it to use my front left and right via direct mode but both channels are playing the exact same sounds. If I change nothing exept switch to the Descent road to legend app I get stereo and then the Dolby pro logic surround works. I believe the MoM app is for some reason not stereo. Or there is some incompatibility with apple air play or screen mirroring and the audio. I haven’t tried analogue via the headphone jack as a test. It works fine in descent so it cant be my audio setup. Please look into this.
  5. what do you guys think of seeing elements/mechanics that seem to be making gloomhaven so great (haven’t played it yet) incorporated into a future descent 3rd ed. ? i really like the hex grid and how you can appenently not reveal the whole map at once. So hidden until you open a door like 1sr edition, hero quest etc. also legacy elements that aren’t destructive might be cool to see in descent. For or those of you who have played gloomhaven, what do you think the best elements are that could be applied to the descent formula?
  6. I started a new run, this time with two investigators. Zoey and Pete, and so far they feel much better. I also am testing the game with a single extra doom for each agenda (if the card would advance with 3 doom I make it 4). I won the gathering and then spent about half my xp upgrading and saved 3 xp to go on carnevale of horrors side quest. I won the side quest but only got 3 xp and a mask and Zoey died and took a physical trauma. I thought it was odd that there was no text outcome for if you have one of the rescued npcs under the agenda deck and 2 under the act deck. There are only outcomes for none under act and 1 or more under agenda or none under agenda and 1 or more under act. So its lame its all or nothing. This quest was cool and felt really hard. The boss seemed a bit impossible to fight at 8x2 hp and I had to escape in the boat with only one investigator left since zoey died. With out the padding to doom I would have failed this one definitely. It was a fun quest tho. The padding did make the gathering a bit on the easy side, but its the easiest of all the stages it seems. Well see how the padding helps in the next part of the main quest. I'll edit this post when I play it. I find pete and duke a really good combo. And I hope I'm playing this right but the way I read duke it looks like you can use him to investigate and then start with base 4 for the stat then things like magnifying glass adds +1 on top of it right since it says "you" on the duke card. Also the Sylvester guy is really good and can get rid of horror for free. Pete feels like a tank and I think hes on of the best I've used so far. Zoey with a .45 seems really good. She also gets a lot of resources with her power. They both have high willpower so they are pretty good at treachery cards they draw.
  7. .... Sorry, Is there anyway I can delete my own post?
  8. I finished my first solo campaign run of night of the zealot and a side quest of curse of Rougaru. And at the end of the book it says to share your results so here I am. I don't see anyway to hide spoilers in this editor so don't read this if you don't want any spoilers. I played Jenny Barnes from the dunwich expo (built to the specs in the deck lists pdf) thinking she would be good solo. The game was on easy mode for the bag config. Night of the Zealot was the campaign. 3 of 4 of the missions I failed with me being defeated and getting the first result. I had about 3 monsters on me on the first mission and had nothing to evade them all. In the next mission the roguaru wound up showing up and I thought It was impossible to fight since if I do 1 damage he bolts to the other side of the map and there is not enough time or clues to deal with him. Solo is even harder because in multi player you can do more damage before he bolts and you can split up so you can corner him. I attacked twice failed each time and he got his retaliation then attacked after my turn was up and killed me on the first attempt to fight him. Then on the second mission I ran out of time/actions and only found one named cultist. I felt 6 to win was way above possible since it only counts the named cultists and not the normal ones. The clue cost to pull them was just so time consuming on top of all the other cards you are dealing with. The last mission I started with doom already on the agenda due to failing the 2nd mission so it was extra difficult since I lost 2 whole rounds to that. Died to monsters before getting to the next act card. I ended up with the following: Trama 1 physical, 2 mental Lita was in my deck, my house was still standing, Ghoul priest is still alive (never killed him and he showed up every mission), Rougaru continues to haunt the bayou, Arkham succumbed to the umordhoth's terrible vengence. Cultists who got away was 4 of em. And Jenny was killed upon the conclusion. R.I.P. The game felt like a snowball, or like drowning in a constant stream of monsters and bad events. Even tho I would get the ally that gives me another action each turn out early some games, I could never get a leg up. I spent my XP upgrading and only spent 1 xp to go on the rogarou quest. I swapped out cards that were for multiplayer (odd she has those as a char who should be the best for solo) for a baseball bat and some blue cards. The roulette card that lets you double the difficulty of a test and resolve twice seemed pretty difficult to use even on easy since the number can increase to insane high numbers and make it impossible to pass. It also seems like you cant just play it for the ? symbol and not use the power, ie, choose not to double a test but rather just get the ? increase. I was shocked at how unlucky I was and how badly I failed at every mission even on the lowest difficulty. I play very carefully and look up rules if I have any issues and as far as I know I'm playing correctly. I feel easy mode should pad the doom track so you can get more time to get things done. Maybe Jenny just sucks or solo mode is more unforgiving. I wound up with a basic weakness that made her loose her text on her hero card and found her major weakness to be pretty brutal as it soaks up a ton of actions and time to deal with it. I've played the gathering many times with all the heroes from the core game and only won one game out of 5. 2 of those games were on standard then I switched to easy to try and make things better. I'm starting to consider making my own mode, Very Easy. Maybe one extra action per turn, or a bonus to how much doom each card requires before it advances. Boosting XP is not as helpful IMO because a new player may not know the best cards to get or maybe they are the type of player like me who just likes to pick things that they think are cool or thematic and are not power gamer/mathematicians. Since I feel like its kinda lame to spoil the first exposure to the story and go through a land slide fail along the way on your first game. Then after you know the plot and more about where things are etc to use that info to do better. I find that really cheesy if that's the way its intended to go down. I know this is a arkham game and it should be hard but I think it would be more rewarding if it were more forgiving and then on subsequent plays with your learned knowledge of the plot start to the ramp up in difficulty. Also what is the point of the campaign results with out a website where you can post them to and find out some of the cool plot ends for things like writing down that the rogaoru continues to haunt the bayou or that green potion card... And to compare your results with other players. Even tho I'm ranting, I like this game a lot and I'll be playing more games and updating this post. Maybe the RNG will go easy on my next time!
  9. Hi, I was wondering. Before I purchase the DLC, I need to know if I upgrade one day to a laptop with a touchscreen, will the Steam version of the APP support the touch screen and work as if I am on a iPad or similar? I really don't want to end up having to make repeat purchases due to this in the future. Also will this functionality be implemented in all FFG APP's for other games like MoM 2nd Ed. etc. Has anyone tried RTL on a touchscreen windows laptop and ran the steam version of RTL using touchscreen control? What about Big picture mode with that funky steam controller?
  10. I just got a Tantive IV and the bases were like this out of the box. They are also cloudy instead of clear. Has anyone tried boiling water then ice water to fix them?
  11. ^^ Some game effects—primarily Insane Conditions—can change how an investigator wins or loses the game. Such an effect will clearly state how that investigator wins or loses the game. • If the game ends due to a card effect, one of the investigators selects "End Game" from the in-game menu. Notice that last part seems to mean you should end the game for all players for insane conditions like the one where if you get wounded you loose the game. Right?
  12. What about a laptop? it is on steam for free.
  13. I think it would be awesome if the plastic bases for the monsters were clear plastic that way you could see the token you slide into them with the art and also the art of the board through the bases. What do you think? Sign if you agree.
  14. signed, I would love to see them in the app as well.
  15. I want to start by saying I love this game and app. My first solo play through was really fun. Great work! Below is my bug/feedback list for my first game with details. Played on a windows 8.1 laptop with app version 1.0.4(270) from steam. Investigators chosen are Preston F. and Kate W. Mission was Cycle of Eternity. I have all of 1st edition unlocked in the app. ******warning spoilers below***** Cthonian spawned behind the door (study, top right in pic) but since the door has a wall token on top and the search token the monster is not able to move anywhere when activated. Since I never searched the wall to reveal the door. The app should know not to place it there or should allow the monster to burst past the blocked door. In the picture , he spawned in the very top right space. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B27RgdL0EXQrakRJRGlWOGt1YnM Next up we got a text box that was worded oddly: https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B27RgdL0EXQrSk9XRWh0WlJCaEU When I got to this part of the quest I had a investigator who could cast a spell to make the team focused. This seems to have the same if not better effect than the Evidence cards had and I felt it should have been better than the focus condition since It was hard to find these Evidence cards. Maybe have them let you re-roll blanks this way its not competing with the focus. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B27RgdL0EXQrc2Q0M3dNc0dLZk0 The master bedroom was never revealed so with this bug I now know where it is, loosing some of the exploration feel. I think the app should know its not revealed and not generate this text. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B27RgdL0EXQrMEUwMGxkdW50eWs A quick note on the sound, I hook my laptop up to a 7.1 home theater system via hdmi. I'm pretty sure the app is only using stereo but since its got such great effects and ambiance I would love to see it support surround one day. **** In the rules reference page 4 it says: "A door is adjacent to each space for which it is a space edge." I'm pretty sure there is some kind of typo here as this makes no sense to me. ____ When the app tells you to place a map tile after doing an explore action, you cant zoom or move the view and the Text box can take up most of the view and make it hard to tell where to place things. I think it should center on the new tile but then allow you to zoom out and move around with that text box still there or make the text box transparent so you can see the map and the spots that get obstructed by it.
  16. So I'm confused. So lets say I make an attack, I flip the card, I roll dice, I get 3 hits, defender gets 2 evade, I then can get a target lock for my ship along with a wing man who is range 2 away, I then cancel all dice results meaning the hit I had left over going to the target is now gone along with the defender's evades? The way its written it makes me feel like both me and opponents dice are now ignored. So the only affect of this is getting target locks.
  17. Can we get a hi-res version of the pdf (learn to play) with better images that show the app screen. The text is blurry and pixilated in the image due to compression. I don't care how large the file is and would rather be able to read what is on the screen in the pictures. Also while viewing the learn to play pdf I got this error: "Cannot extract the embedded font ‘LNKZAU+AGaramondPro-Bold-SC700’. Some characters may not display or print correctly." This happened on page 17. And I use Adobe reader DC v. 2015.017.20050, Also version 2015.017.20053. Its repeatable.
  18. "ATTACKING MULTIPLE MONSTERS When a hero performs an attack that targets or affects multiple monsters, the monsters gain an additional advantage during the “Deal Damage” step. Choose 1 monster to which you will deal damage first and resolve the step as normal. Then halve the ≥ results (rounded up), and apply that value to each of the additional monsters, before applying ≤. This rule applies to attacks with Blast but also actions such as “Whirlwind,” “Army of Death,” and Leoric of the Book’s Heroic Feat." My group feels that with the RTL rule it makes the Fire flask search item too weak to be useful. I think it should be buffed or made exempt to the RTL rule to retain some of its usefulness. Or remove this rule. It adds extra complexity since its only when monsters get attacked so if a monster attacks a hero and get blast in some way they get full damage.
  19. I'm playing a mage hero as a Conjurer class. Mirror image says: "An image token is treated as a hero figure with your attributes and a gray defense die. If an image token suffers damage or fatigue, it is discarded, and you suffer 1 damage and 1 fatigue." So when I play I imagine that the images are clones of my hero fooling the monsters. I also imagine that my mage has a magical connection to them and when they get hit or killed its is linked to my hero. This just frames my thematic impression. When a monster attacks the image and hits it and has a condition, wouldn't my hero then suffer the condition? or would the image have taken the condition and then die with it. Sometimes RTL (road to legend) will have monster activation cards with powers that trigger on "attack" of a hero. Lets say each time a hero is attacked apply poison is active, and a image is attacked and dies, would both the image and the hero then be poisoned? One way to look at it is the trigger is an "attack" so when the image dies and then the hero takes the 1 fatigue and 1 damage, that damage is not from an "attack" but rather from the skill card effects, so the trigger is not activated for poison. Or is it all linked so the monster does an "attack", the image gets hit and all damage resulting from the image dying is part of the "attack" and trigger's the poison on the hero. Thoughts?
  20. Just wanted to say I was also a bit disappointed when I played a side quest that used an expansion and the boss was a core monster with padded HP instead of the lieutenant for the expo. Even tho the app should know I have the lieutenant added to the "collection". I hop they change this in the future to using the lieutenant it makes it a lot more thematic.
  21. is it on the act II version of the card?
  22. the app button for rule book is linking to the old rule book file not the most recent rule book.
  23. In the app when you tap to open the rule book it links to the old rule book and not the most recent one.
