  1. Well, my fleet has increased in size slightly it now contains. 1x starter box 1x Tie expansion 1x interceptor expansion 1x lambda shuttle 1x firespray 1x imperial aces. Now, im gonna meet up with my mate next week to try out the mission from imperial aces (the prototype). So, in short im looking for any advice on fleet builds, played quite a few games now but I always appreciate input from more experienced players. My mate can field 1x starter set 1x Y Wing 1x Bwing Cheers again for any input
  2. I appreciate the continued info and support my good sirs, the FFG community is as pleasant as I remembered it I have a firespray on the way so I might need to rejiggle my squadron. Again any advice is welcome.
  3. Hats off to you good sir, that is one **** fine piece of imperial enginnering
  4. I know you didn't attempt to marginalize the glory that is X-WING EPIC. I KNOW YOU DIDN'T... I didn't. I was addressing the fact that the OP seemed to say that 60 points is a proper game. In my defence that was what my mate defined as a proper game in relation to the fact we had only played games with the core set Well I ordered my ships and mat and I have made a list which I hope you guys won't mind having a look at? Imperial Justice Captain kagi - lambda class shuttle 27 Sensor jammer 4 Heavy laser cannon 7 Rebel captive 3 Mercenary copilot 2 Anti pursuit lasers 2 ST-321 3 Turr phennir - tie interceptor 25 Marksmanship 3 Academy pilot - tie fighter 12 Academy pilot - tie fighter 12 Total - 100pts I ordered the core set, tie fighter expansion, tie interceptor expansion and the lambda. I think I will need to pick up the firespray for the mercenary copilot card. Once again many thanks for all the help and advice
  5. Cheers for the info guys, has given me a lot to think and plan about Probably order my stuff from chaos cards or wayland games, best UK prices on x wing that I have seen, bar a couple of bits on amazon. On a side note, does anyone use/own the gale force 9 space mats and if so are they any good?
  6. Cheers for the info guys, much appreciated. Getting a starter set for myself is a plan for the extra dice etc. At the mo he only has the starter set but I think he wants to get the rebel aces pack and the ship from shadows of the empire (I forget the name), probably why he only said a 60pts game. We have done quite a few sessions and are both pretty comfortable with the rules. Currently I own no models myself but its no trouble picking them up. Im mostly interested in going down the imperial route while he wants rebels.
  7. Hello all, been ages since I last logged into FFG and a lot has changed it seems. Hopefully this is in the right place, but if not then I apologise Anyhoo, a friend of mine has recently picked up the starter box, and, after playing a few games we are really enjoying it To that end he wants to do a proper game in the near future, 60pts I believe, He plans on playing rebels and I like playing imperial. To that end I was hoping some of you veteran commanders could share some of your knowledge on what units or builds are good for starters. Any and all advice is welcome.
  8. First off, a good friend of mine got me a copy of talisman via ebay, and we were able to give it ago before he returned to UNI, and i have to say its one of the most fun board games i have ever played. The ease with which we picked up the rules, the board design, the random factor of the cards, the characters ,etc. We had a blast with it, so i thought down the line i might pick up one or more the expansions (as when more people are available we will have more players, so it could be fun to spice up the board abit) So i was over on the BGG site and i was reading reviews of the expansions and came across this.... http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/613496/talisman-the-frostmarch-expansion I think it was in the frostmarch picture gallery, but i was just wondering if this was a fan made card or if it came with that or another set. Any and all info would be great
  9. Thats a relief, i agree with you that sometimes things are alot easier to comprehend when you have access to it Just wanted to be sure before i started putting the money on the table.
  10. At present, my chance to buy either one of these games has vanished, i couldn't make my mind up and now they are out of stock until said otherwise (hopefully). Thanks for all the advice and info guys, keep it coming though, as i always like to see what more versed/experianced players make of things. I might run the question by the guys i gamed with recently, as they might have a preference to which one they would rather play if they got the chance.
  11. Is this game easier to understand and play, when you have it in front you? Reason i ask is because i have had my eye on picking this one up since it was first announced, but after looking over the PDF rulebook recently, im not sure i 100% grasp how the game is to be played, i understand the goals of the game but its the way the game flows thats got me, maybe its the absence of dice that has thrown me off abit? Any thoughts or opinions would be great as always
  12. Probably wasn't a good idea on my part to ask for comparisons of a 3-4 player game and 1-2 player game, my apologises. As a LOTR game in general, which is better? And is the third expansion worth it, if i can get hold of it?
  13. Played a game of chaos in the old world about a week ago with some mates who were down from UNI, the virgin playthrough if you will , and we had a great time. Now were all fans of the LOTR and at the mo i have the opportunity to buy both, but, if i had to get one which should i go for. Obviously those of you that have played more games, the two i have mentioned, or others will have some good opinions and stories that i would love to hear. Any and all, thoughts and opinions, would be great appreciated
  14. As it turned out our first game of chaos only had 3 people, one of the guys i had down couldn't make it, so we only used 3 of the 4 gods. It all really depends on who is free from uni and when (as it stands only one guy can actually give me accurate dates as to when he is home), but i have heard that WofR is playable with 4 players?
