Interesting things you say. So if the Swashbuckler wins a battle and takes another turn and then another player misses a turn (doesn't make a move) he can use his ability to take another turn once more? And if you miss your next turn while having Book of Lore in your possession can you then draw a Spell from the Book? Maybe more general questions: Can you take any action while missing a turn? Does missed turn plus another player's turn count as round?

Sorry, I don't understand the first of your questions about the Swashbuckler. I don't undestand why should the Swashbuckler take advantage of his ability because another Character missed a Turn. If a player misses a Turn he does nothing and play passes to the next Character as normal: if Swashbuckler is next, sure can he gain an additional Turn, provided he wins a battle.

If you miss a Turn you miss a Turn completely and can do absolutely nothing. Drawing a Spell thanks to the Book of Lore is doing something.

No action is allowed in your Turn. This doesn't mean you can't do anything in other Character's Turns, even if you missed your last Turn. You may cast a Spell if you have one.

A round is made of X turns, where X is the number of players (perhaps now I understand the first question better; you're talking of 2-player games). If someone is forced to miss a Turn, his missed Turn does count for the purpose of round progression.

Let's make an example: there are 4 players and player 1 draws the Blizzard, it lasts for 2 Rounds (if I remember correctly, starting with the Turn after Blizzard has been drawn). After that play passes to player 2,3,4, then player 1 draws Storm and everybody is forced to miss a Turn, since they're all in the Outer Region. there are 4 missed Turns but round is still passed, so player 1 takes his Turn (here I'm assuming that he drew the Storm on the Ruins Space), makes the last move of 1 space, has an encounter, then Blizzard is discarded. Two rounds have passed, even if the second was entirely made of missed Turns.

Great thanks, I was thinking right then happy.gif And yes, that's what I ment with the question about Swashbuckler.

To add something to this discussion..

You can't use the psychic attack ability on a strength enemy (lion)

Those ability's are meant to use  against other characters (cvc fight)

Yes that's what I said but you we can't assume that there will be no card/s that allow this. For example an Object:

No good character may have 'Object'

Whenever you attack an Enemy with Strenght value you can pay 1 life to make the attack psychic combat. If you do use the Enemy's Strenght as his Craft.

Aldo you fight an enemy with craft or strenght, it is the card that deside what you get, strenght for strength and craft enemys give you craft. ex: you use an ability to do psychic combat to a lion whit stength 4, you win, you can now trade it for strength..NOT craft.

Thats how i have played for the last 18-20 years of my talisman life:), got my first when i was about 14/15 years old:), so i have played alot you can say:)

But I got my 4th edition only about a year ago, and there could be a new rule out that I havent heard of yet....... And im new to this site.... looking forward to excange questions anyway:)

I think you've been playing wrong all these years (or at least with house rules and didn't know it). If an Adventure card has on Str listed for the Enemy, you have to use your Str as well, can't use your Craft. And vice versa, if Enemy has only Craft, have to use Craft yourself.

I think Fredrik ment IF you had a possibility to make the attack psychic combat (at the moment there is no card that allows it but we can;t assume that it won't happen in the future).

In my opinion you choose either craft or strenght. You don't have to remember what stat you used to beat that Enemy.

a turn is a turn of 1 player, don`t make it harder than it is, you must move 3 times as a toad berfor you turn back to normal, so on your 4 time you move as a normal character. any actions from other players while it is your turn dosen`t count.happy.gif

Yes, but if you miss a Turn while a Toad (i.e. roll a 2-3 in the Forest) it still counts as one of the 3 Turns. Being a Toad is one of the very few situations when losing a Turn is a good thing, since you're safe from board dangers.

Interesting things you say. 5. Well, in my opinion Summoning Circle should read:

Draw 1 card. You don't draw a card if there is already one on that space or if there is a faceup Enemy in the Dungeon. In this case move the nearest Enemy to this space (if two Enemies are considered to be the nearest you choose the one you want to encounter).

And by the way can we add 2 to the score (with the Lone-Dwarf Follower) in Treasure Chamber if the attack results in stand off or you lose?

  6. Hi!

    1. Recently I had problems with cards on non-draw-a-card spaces (Tavern, Chapel, Kitchen are the examples). So do we encounter all the cards that are placed here before encountering the space itself? For example if the Holy Grail is on the Village space and an evil character lands there does he roll a die at Mystic before encountering The Grail?

Another situation is with Circle of Summoning. Is it considered a draw X cards space? I think not. Then before encountering The Circle you take all Objects there, visit Strangers and Places. Is that right? What if there are Enemies on that space?

    2. Can you respond to a Shatter Spell cast by another character with replacing objects in the Bag of Holding, Concealed Pouch (before he declares what he wants to shatter)?

    3. If a character has the Orb of Prophesy and lands on the Ruins space with one Place card faceup does he draw two cards and chooses one of the three to discard or maybe only from the two just drawn? Can you use Orb of Prophesy after defeating Crypt Keeper?

For all the localisation people, why do you wait for the version to be out in your language? At least those of you who post here shouldn't have any issues with the amount of text, nor is the language on the cards, etc. that difficult for people who have read/studied English in school IMO.

Yes it's but only if all people that you play with know the language. Since I don't have the luck I have to wait.

  8. 1. When the Dark Denizens Event is in effect does the Sage look at the top card of Adventure deck or of the Dungeon deck?

    2. Can we drink the Elixir of Strenght and such after rolling a die in battle/psychic combat?

    3. Does the Displacement Spell works on the Academy in the same way as Destruction Spell?

    4. Can we teloport to the same space that we are in (if the card doesn't state 'any OTHER space in that region')?

    5. Can the Weakness Spell make the Enemy's strenght lower than 0? Does the spell work on strenght bonus provided with Followers or Objects (when casted on a character)?

    6. Can the Sorceress attack/beguile any other character that she lands on AND take a Follower from them?

Thanks in advance for any help happy.gif

  9. Ok, here is another question: when we use Finger of Death Spell in battle against multile enemies they are all dead? Or maybe only one of them dies?

And by the way can I find somewhere in the Internet a list of game compotents in original language? I've seen one for the Frostmarch Expansion and since I have some battle/psychic combat issues (they are translated slightly differently) that would come in handy.

  10. I like the Druid best. He's got very interesting abilities.

The first to change his aligment is very good since he has very high fate value which he can replenish at Graveyard. Gaining benefit from most of the cards (Angel, Evil Darkness, etc.) is crazy too.

He also has one of the best two spell-cycling abilities (hands down to the Warlock) allowing him to massacre anyone with his spells while he's in the Outer/Middle Region.

    1) Can we use Mesmerism to take enslaved Black Unicorn from other character or raised form dead Ghoul’s follower?

    9) Can a Character kill a dragon in Cave for completing “Kill One Dragon” Warlock Quest?

Nothing official on some of these IIRC.

#1: No. They don't have the Follower keyword.

    #9: I'd say yes

#1 So what are the actions that interact with cards kept as Followers (but not with the Follower keyword)? Does Black Unicorn add two points to the Gladiator Strenght? Does the Hag get rid you of Black Unicorn or other such cards? Can you sacrafice them to the Leper or in Vampire's Tower? Can Ghoul's or Minstrel's Followers become a Werewolf? Can you lose them in Cell or Chasm?

#9 Can Priest use his ability to destroy ghosts in the Tomb or in the Crags? Does the Holy Lance add 3 points to Strenght in battle with the Dragon from Cave?

  12. Yeah, I've read that in FAQ but whilst the Gypsy can take any spell that is just put on the discard pile, the Spell Call can only take a spell cast by a character.

If we look at Magical Vortex and Nullyfy question at FAQ (about Genie) we'll see that effects that affect characters' Spells do not affect Spells in possession of Genie or Spell Ring

On the other hand it's very unlogical so... preocupado.gif

I'd agree with this in general. However, Dungeon is the best beef-up place there is, so when using the Ice Queen ending, which requires more beefed-up stats than the regular Inner Region stuff, Dungeon is the place to be.

Yes it's most possibly true. Though I don't possess The Frostmarch Expansion due to 'language issues' I think that the alternative endings bring up much more fun to the game. Eventually slow it down a little bit gui%C3%B1o.gif

The time it takes to play through a game has fallen quite considerably since the release of the Dungeon I believe.

Has it? I only played with the Dungeon a few times and no one bothered going inside it. Why? Simply, when you have enough power to explore it you should already be on your way for the Crown.

The only characters that can gain full benefit of going down are Dark Cultist, Ghoul, Troll, Assassin, Necromancer, Ogre Chieftain and maybe Amazon.

Druid must walk around the Outer Region trying to find as many Spells as it's possible.

Knight, Monk and Priest should pray at Chapel, Shrine, Temple, Idol all the time.

Merchant and Thief are doing their business around the Village and Market.

Dwarf should open the Portal to the Inner Region as soon as his Craft is 6 or Higher and he has a Talisman.

Swashbuckler is gaining benefit from Fields spaces so he should also be in the Inner Region.

Elf should stay in his asylum in the Woods until they are blocked by Places or Stangers.

Gladiator doesn't want to go into the Dungeon becouse of the lack of Followers there.

Leprechaun is trying to collect as much gold as it's possible and then eventually spend it in the Academy.

Also the Harpy is the second Monster with craft (after a demon that teleported us to the Plain of Peril)!

Black Elf from Dungeon was Craft 3 Enemy-Monster. And wasn't Cerberus a Monster as well?

I did remind myself the Cerberus just after I posted it though I completely forgot about Dark Elf. You're right! It's fourth Monster with Craft then.
