  1. Hi. I finally ordered the main game in its third edition in Spanish, along with the Unbreakable Bounds, an expansion of the character and the adventure of the web. (I already had almost everything from the Second in English). It's a bit strange that in the website the base game is out of stock, and nevertheless, Unbreakable Bounds is still sold, while, no news about base game reprint. Here is my theory: It is imminent that they announce, perhaps during the first months of next year, a new Runebound base game, with a new map. Everything will be new, on the same rules, but with some new details too (as it happened with the big board expansions of the second edition, only that in that case the base game was necessary to play, or that was the philosophy, and this I think it will not be like that again). I don't think that Fantasy Flight, more after not being able to continue publishing Talisman, its other great game of fantasy adventure board game, for the cancellation of the license of Games Workshop, can afford to ignore the Runebound. Rather it gives me the impression that they are scheming something new. I would not be surprised, even, a Fourth Edition, although I bet rather for a new map, probably set in Terrinoth. One possible explanation for not reprinting the base game (it appears out of print on the website, and does not appear in the next publications) is that, if they are going to publish a new base game, with another map, they will not want to compete with theirselves. Another thing that I think this game needs is an application like Descent, so that users can create their own scenarios, or, at least, blank cards. I agree, on the other hand, that the base scenario is already very complete with the mini-expansions that have taken him out, and with Bounds. I, even in the worst case (which would miss me a lot), I plan to make an scenario using the maps of the Second Edition, with the rules of the Third. In principle I will do it only based on texts. I'll see how I do later to design it.
  2. These kind of things you say are for BIG expansions. These two are small.
  3. Shocked by TWO Talisman products in two days! :-) I´ll purchase both for sure. And yet waiting for the Magic Forest big expansion! This shows that with work and passion people can achieve great things. Congrats to Jon!
  4. To find the best balance using together all the expansions will be a true art in this game! hehe... I am thinking in to use the Dragon cards ONLY in the Tower side in the inner region. In my version of the lore, to play in this way, the dragons aren´t powerful enough to leave the Inner region, but they are really powerful IN the Inner region. In the same way, i use the Reaper ONLY in the Middle Region, and the werewolf ONLY in the Outer Region. The other big expansion regions have not problem because they have their respective adventure cards. And what about to mix the frost expansion with the firelands? I see no problem with that. A "contest" of powers striving...
  5. Nice...! And waiting for the next big box expansion being finally the so dear Forest Region...!
  6. We could get campaigns, linking Talisman characters to different Talisman realms of game. In this way of play there is no winner at the end of the game. Instead of it, the focus will be the roleplaying and the end game will be a "to be continued" story towards another, new game, the door to other realm (no region, a new realm with his own regions). The player characters don´t lose their characteristics, and the "winner" in the previous game achieves a NEW special ability, rolling dices in a table of new special abilities. As a more complex alternative, we would have class specialization trees of special abilities, and the winner in each game would achieve his next special ability of that tree.

  8. This is The Thing! Great, great idea... The base of the board would be an empty puzzle without pieces, and we could compose the entire board game with interchangeable tiles, or groups of tiles. Each set of tiles being a new realm expansion! It could be made on the current main board, or, maybe, it could be a whole new Talisman system based game.
  9. Hummmm, but they are regions of one realm... but... and OTHER realms?
  10. Yes!!! these posts are just the things which i had in mind! I wish some company make it!
  11. I am sorry if you see this idea is a bit repetitive with my other threat! But it would be soooooooooo lovely! Oops.... REALMS, of course!
  12. Another idea would be a public contest for Talisman... something like: This is an idea for to let the players to make their own expansions in new boards with new art provided by Fantasy Flight: I have a very simple and great idea for Talisman, for your consideration: expansions of only board in various scenarios (winter, sea and islands, forest... of the same size than the core board. The really important is the art, the board itself) for the players to make it. Maybe downloable of your web. A bit like Descent Vault. You could make a contest, with winners and so, for the best text ideas for the different "lore-game" artistic motifs (pics) in the new thematic boards. Or maybe, going beyond, to design a creative tool program for letting the players to make an entire new board with new motifs for Talisman, a bit in the same spirit of the new MMORPG future games, like Everquest Next, but applied to game boards.
