  1. I'm getting into 2e and I am trying to sell of some of my 1e sets. Is there a precise list of components from these boxes. Specifically, I'm looking for which heroes are in which set and exactly which map pieces. For instance, the component lists in the rules will say how many room or corridor pieces, but not how many of each size/length.
  2. And thus, we have Darth & Droids: http://www.darthsanddroids.net/episodes/0001.html
  3. This all reminds me of an article called Playing Dirty written by John Wick for Pyramid Magazine when it was web-based. It was all about twisting the "known facts" and looking at heroes/villains with a different perspective. The poster children were "Bad guy Corwin (from the Nine Princes of Amber) and Good guy Vader. He talks about the fact that Ben, Owen, Beru, and Yoda constantly lie about Luke's Father. Vader killed your father. Maybe Vader just wants to get rid of the evil Emperor and rule the Empire with his son. My favourite bit is alluding to Ben using the Jedi Mind Trick on Luke to get him to go to Alderan for training, then when that doesn't work, using his attraction to Leia's holovid to get him to go with him.
  4. Is there any way for a monster to move besides Command Minion and the free move from Take Sample?
  5. Brine said: You only lose the movement point you used to try to move into the room, not all of them. During an investigator’s Movement Step, he may move his figure to one adjacent space. When a moving investigator encounters an ability saying “this door is locked,” his figure remains in its current room and cannot move for this Movement Step. If the card merely says "This door is locked" (Sealed Door) does this mean that investigators can never get in?
  6. Soooo, I ran (or rather, played as overlord) the second session of a SoB campaign. We've used some of the suggestions on this thread to curtail the Overlord raze to win strategies but left the dungeon delving rules as they are since there don't seem to be the complaints in that area. The first game went great, 26 points for me, 21 for the heroes, so fairly tight. Then the second game. The next dungeon went fairly well until they got to the boss of the second level. I had upgraded beasts and the boss was a dragon. By the end of the night I was at 84, they were at 42! I don't want to make any snap judgements but is this typical for this stage of the campaign? Is it just because the heroes haven't upgraded yet; is the difference that extreme? Or did I just get lucky? The dragon only survived the first round due to Fear but then I Raged to breathe twice, spawn some bloodapes (more very durable beasts) and ended up with a number of conquest.

  8. Well, when attacked, he wasn't adjacent, so no melee attacks. After the attack/swallow, the guard is lost as he has taken damage.

If it's waiting on reprint, some stores still carry it, just have to look around. Me too, Saskatoon, so the stores that carry ffg is exactly one; no luck. I'll have to settle for attempts at 'fixing' Sea of Blood. I'm certainly not paying ebay prices, or shipping from the States. I'll look around for some more Canadian places that ship. Oh, and according to Starlit Citadel, it's on pre-order because they can't currently get it at all. Their best guess was this: "There's no expected reprint date as yet from FFG so we can't provide an idea of when it will arrive. At least 4 to 5 months since the game hasn't even gone to the manufacturers' yet." Can anyone confirm this.
  10. I was recently checking prices at Starlit Citadel, a Canadian online seller and I noticed Road to Legend was listed as a pre-order. Is RtL out of print or is this just an issue with their distributor? I'm contacting them as well but I figured I'd get a quicker response here, and possibly a more accurate one.

This thread may have come from the earlier one, however, and may even be by the same poster, so thanks. One difference is that I think the original list had Azathoth first with just the core game to emphasize investigation and gate sealing over final combat. Uhhh, was it that short list I put together to fix the base game for players who wanted a challenge with it but without other components? It's somewhere in my files... I'm not at home right now. You could dig through my archive of past messages to try and find it. Edit: or I could http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_foros_discusion.asp?efid=5&efcid=1&efidt=369525&efpag=1#372871 Nope, had nothing to do with increasing difficulty. It was more to add expansions one at a time while using a specific GOO to emphasize the theme of that expansion. I don't remember who wrote the list though.

  13. A while back, months at least, someone posted a series of theme games using AH: 7 games, one with just the base game, and one each for each expansion (at that time). Each had a specific GOO, chosen in conjunction with each expansion - Hastur for King in Yellow, Cthulhu for Innsmouth, Nyarly for Dark Pharoah, etc. Does anyone remember this thread? Anyone remember the name of the thread?
  14. I had this built a few years ago and I gotta say it's pretty badass. I use it for all my games - miniatures, board, RPGs. I'm looking forward to getting the big box expansions to fill it out. The game looks a bit empty on here right now. http://www.ultimategamingtable.org/

After only one game played, I'm not sure I understand the link between terror, monster trophies, and unspent trophies. Thanks. I think it's just reminding him of his old newbie days. When you grow more experienced with the game, a terror level of 7 is shockingly high. Had you ever played Arkham Horror before btw? I remember my first game, nearly four years ago. I played solo with one investigator and hit a terror level of 10 :') That certainly seems like my first game - solo investigator, terror 9, all due to outskirts overflow. Of course I thought that terror went up when outskirts MATCHED the limit, so it went up a little fast.
