One last update to the Begging for XP talent sheets
Doc, the Weasel posted a topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
Hey guys, So after a long hiatus, I came back to look at the analytics for our talent sheets, and surprisingly they are still being downloaded at close to the same rate as when I was updating them. That got me thinking that I should finish what I started. Over the next month (maybe two, definitely over the holiday season) I'm going to carve out some time to finish the Edge of the Empire sheets. Since all the career books are out I can just do this in one go and have them done. What I'm looking for from you is errata. Some is posted on the B4XP site, but if you know of any edits that need to be made please send them to b4xp-talent-sheets@outlook.com. They will be easier to track at that address. Right now, my intention is to just finish up the EotE ones. If time permits I will do AoR, and if time further permits then FaD. Thank you all, Doc, the Weasel -

The Morality System and my suggested fix

I'm torn between explaining how my out of context quote is being misconstrued, or wondering why a post from more than a year ago is suddenly worth debate. -

Begging for XP Talent Trees
Doc, the Weasel replied to RebelDave's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
... He obviously doesn't want to do it. ... It's more an issue of time right now, actually, though the end is the same. Were I not running two different campaigns, being a father/husband, and Overwatching I would keep them up. Just wondering, why did you try to solicit people to buy the books/hosting for you via Patreon if time was an issue? (see post 23 on page 2 of this thread before refuting this). I am all for changing your mind, that is allowed, but you are responding to a post, that is responding to that request. I didn't start a Patreon. It was something that another poster had suggested that I looked into. But to answer your question, time was less of an issue when that was going on. Also, with all time-management issues, it was additionally about priority. If I were to go that route then it would take up a higher priority (and something else would fall to the wayside). -

There was no disrespect intended, and I'm surprised to see people reacting this way. My intention was to help out where you felt like you couldn't, Doc. Keeping the logo was only to attribute you, the original maker of the handouts. I have in no way put my own logo, name or reference, because I'm not doing this for any personal gain or recognition. Just trying to help out a community that really liked your handouts, and liked the consistency of the line. (I feel like they have been the best set of fan-made talent trees out there.) But if you are not wanting to be continued recognized as the creator of these sheets, I have no problem removing your logo from them. Didn't mean for it to come off as confrontational. Inspired by is cool, but it should be clear that I didn't do them. -

People can post their own versions out there all they want (and I wouldn't dream of stopping them). I would prefer if people created their own resources rather than using mine, but there are really only a few elements that I can say are unique to mine and those have popped up other places already. I am well in my rights, though, to tell people not to put the Begging For XP logo on their sheets. -

As a professional designer, I'd like to just say that there is more to it than that. Unfortunately, it's one of those cases where good typography work is invisible. It's the bad work that stands out. That said, there are plenty of typefaces that would do the job just as well. -

The font is indeed Eurostyle. Talent Body Eurostyle Condensed – 9/12 Talent Name Eurostyle Bold Condensed – 10/10 Cost Eurostyle Demi – 5/5 Career Name Eurostyle Bold Extended 2 – 12/12 Spec Name Eurostyle Bold Extended 2 – 24/24 Spec Skills Eurostyle Condensed/Bold Condensed – 10/12 The door isn't shut for updates, buying the books for a game I'm not playing just to update the sheets isn't really feasible right now. I was talking to someone on this board about a possible patreon to fund the books and some of the hosting costs, but I've been very busy between family, planning my next campaign, and Overwatch to make anything happen. -

I sure hope there is a separate forum to go with it, like with the other beginner sets. -
Does it Come Across Clear enough in TFA that the First Order are just wannabes?
Doc, the Weasel replied to RodianClone's topic in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG
Unfortunately that's what you get when you build a democracy that is: a) tired of war b) populated by members who are sympathetic to their old Imperial roots c) don`t believe they exist, much less can be strong enough to take on the new Republic.... Did I mention HUGE galaxy and unknown regions? The Republic knew about the First Order. Check out the canon entry on Wookiepedia. Did they believe they existed in the numbers and size and threat level they were? Some did, but most of that group founded the Resistance. The rest had to argue it in the Senate against those who didn't or who were bought off. -

Thrawn confirmed? I thought the white uniforms were ISB. Yularen wore that uniform on the Death Star. -

That's kind of the point, though. He struggles with following the Dark Side. That said, plenty of Sith have asked for forgiveness. Usually for their failures under duress from their master's Force Lightning.
